The San Francisco Giants swept away the Detroit Tigers in the World Series last night, bringing disappointment to fans in Michigan and executives at Fox.

Such a short series meant the network could only trot out four Fox stars for the pregame national anthem, from Phillip Phillips (American Idol) to Matthew Morrison (Glee) to Zooey Deschanel (New Girl) to, last night, Demi Lovato.

For the record, contrary to previous reports, Demi Lovato is not dating Niall Horan.

He's an "awesome, sweet guy," the singer tells the latest issue of Teen Vogue, but she isn't in a place where she wants to be dating anyone right now.

"I need to not be in a relationship for a while because I need to be okay with being alone first," Lovato says. "I’m really happy right now. I never thought it was possible to be happy because of how depressed I was my entire life. But I feel so incredible. It’s like I’m living in a dream.”

Having already gone through pretty much every color in the rainbow, Demi Lovato debuted a new hairdo on Twitter last night, changing up her look by bringing back a few bangs. Or, to paraphrase Eminem, as the singer did herself along with the photo:

Guess what's back, back, back, back again..... BANGS are back, back, back tell your friends...

New X Factor judge Demi Lovato isn't simply critiquing hopeful singers these days. She's going after supermarket tabloids as well.

Hard.

In the wake of the 197th Kate Middleton pregnant lie report, Lovato has taken to Twitter and slammed Star Magazine for its irresponsible photo use.

"So apparently Kate Middleton (William?) is pregnant because of THIS picture...Are you KIDDING ME?!!" Demi Tweeted yesterday, linking to a cropped photo of the cover below, which includes an arrow on Middleton's svelte stomach and the words: "Expanding Waistline."

Lovato, of course, has been outspoken about self-esteem issues ever since she entered rehab in late 2010 for cutting, depression and an eating disorder, among other problems.

"And people wonder why girls/guys have body image issues," Lovato added. "Whether she is or not, she still has a beautiful body. Shame on you Star magazine."

Whether or not you give Lovato points as an X Factor judge - and THG was actually a big fan - you've gotta give the young star nothing but props for speaking out in this case. Way to go, Demi!

Starting tonight, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears will judge contestants on The X Factor Season 2.

But before we watch these young superstars hand out compliments and critiques, let's do a bit of both ourselves, shall we?

The singers walked the red carpet of an X Factor premiere party in Hollywood last night, with Demi donning a short black skirt and Britney feeling a lot more blue. Which pop star pulled off her outfit best? That's for us to ask - and you to decide!

We have an update on the love life of Demi Lovato.

First, the singer and new X Factor judge sat down with E! News and denied that she's in a relationship with Niall Horan of One Direction, even though the singers were spotted at dinner last Thursday following the MTV Video Music Awards.

"There is nothing going on. Niall's my friend," Lovato said. "I'm just focusing on my work right now, and that's pretty much that."

But is that pretty much it?

The Daily Mail reports that Lovato dined with former flame Wilmer Valderrama at upscale restaurant El Torito in Sherman Oaks on Sunday night.

Dressed in a short skirt and ankle boots, Lovato was photographed alongside the actor and serial dater, who donned a skin-tight T-shirt, jeans and sneakers. Moreover, according to witnesses, Demi and Wilmer didn't simply eat dinner together.

They wet back to the singer's place afterward for what we can only presume was desert... of the naked variety!

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves for Loran! Errr... Diall? Perhaps Nemi?

With their nickname To Be Determined, Niall Horan and Demi Lovato were spotted on a date Thursday night, as multiple witnesses confirm to Us Weekly that the One Direction cutie and the new X Factor judge dined at Pink Taco following the MTV Video Music Awards.

This interlude comes about 10 weeks after Horan admitted he thought Lovato was a "cool" gal and that there had been "contact" between the music superstars.

We can read between those lines!

Aside from their dinner together, the evening was a success for both Niall and Demi. One Direction took home a trio of trophies (Most Share-Worthy Video, Best New Artist and Best Pop Video), while Lovato was honored with Best Video with a Message.

One Direction also performed at the event.

It is on between Demi Lovato and Emma Watson.

Both young beauties made an appearance at the 2012 Video Music Awards, with Lovato taking home the trophy for Best Video With a Message and with Watson simply being awesome as always.

Demi Lovato and Britney Spears may have a few harsh things to say to X Factor contestants this fall, but the young singers and brand new judges cover the latest issue of TV Guide Magazine - and have nothing but positive things to say about each other.

"She's a very good judge. She toughens me up," Britney says of Demi, who has shown an unexpected strict side throughout auditions so far, actually ordering a couple hopefuls to get the heck out.

And how does Lovato feel about Spears?

"I don't think a lot of people have gotten to see her personality and her sense of humor," Demi gushes. "She's cooler than me."

And older. Lovato, who just turned 20, is awfully young to be judging contestants. But she sees that as a positive, telling the publication:

"I really feel like being the first young judge on any of these vocal competition shows is a lot of pressure, but at the same time, it’s great because I get to bring in a perspective from the audience that’s around my age. I can spot somebody who has talent and who’s memorable and could be a pop star."
