Demi Lovato says her recovery from "emotional and physical issues" is an ongoing struggle, but one she's doing well with on a road to recovery.

In her new song, "Skyscraper," she sings about being torn down, but rising above adversity - a familiar topic from her real-life experiences.

"This is an ongoing process," she says. "The hardest part about these diseases is that they're things that I'm going to have to face every day."

Lovato, who may or may not be dating Ryan Phillippe, is definitely back on the music scene in a big way, with a renewed sense of confidence.

Since her three-month stay in rehab, she's come a long way in a fight with bulimia, anorexia, self-mutilation, depression and bipolar disorder.

"I'm going to mess up, and I'm not going to be perfect," she says.

Enough about Demi Lovato's personal life.

Yes, she spent time in rehab for a number of issues. And, yes, she may be dating Ryan Phillippe (?!?!?). But many fans are more interested in this star's music. When might a new album be released? What will it sounds like?

"I'm actually doing a duet on my album," she told E! News this week, below. "It's with an R&B artist, so you'll have to wait and find out who it is. I'm almost finished with it. We have like 20-something songs. We're gonna have to cut it down, but we're still working."

Demi Lovato recently went into great detail about her personal life, explaining to fans just what she went through that landed her in rehab and inspired the new single, "Skyscraper."

But the singer apparently left out a vital piece of information in that interview: she's dating Ryan Phillippe!

"It was really hot and heavy for a while," an insider tells E! News, adding that Phillippe's status as a new father "kind of threw her for a loop."

Phillippe is 36 and the father of two kids, while Demi turns 19 next month.

The source claims the couple hasn't seen much of each other recently because Phillippe has a new baby, while Lovato has a new single to promote. Still... OMG, Demi Lovato has been seeing Ryan Phillippe?!?

The single itself is already number-one on iTunes.

But what about the video?

Demi Lovato premiered the official music video for "Skyscraper" on E! last night, telling the network of the shoot: “There were so many things that represented my addictions and eating disorders and self-harm.. It was the toxicity took over my mind for so long, that oozed out of every pore that I had because I was suffering inside... I’m taking it off and walking on broken glass and powering through it."

Powerful stuff. See more of what Demi has to say about her struggles HERE and then watch below:

Well, that didn't take long.

Just hours after Demi Lovato debuted the single "Skyscraper" on Ryan Seacrest's radio program - and also touched on a number of personal issues - the track shot to number-one on iTunes. Tweeted the shocked star:

“WOW!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! WE DID IT!!!!!!!! #1 on iTUNES!!!!!!!! MY #LOVATICS ARE INCREDIBLE!!!!!! #SKYSCAPER”

Later in the day, the term “Congrats Demi” became a trend on Twitter, giving the singer something else to write about:

“AWW!! Congrats Demi is a TT?! THANK YOU!!! But this moment is for all of us to share… Love you all. Wow.”

Safe to say this is quite the impressive return to the music business for someone whose career was in question just a few months ago. Way to go, Demi!

Demi Lovato premiered the single "Skyscraper" today on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. That was her big move professionally.

Personally, though, the 18-year old gave fans an open look into the struggles over the last few months, which landed her in rehab and caused her to admit that she's bipolar.

“I just had so much growing up to do... I ended up doing things that I regret to this day," Lovato said about the inner turmoil that led to her attacking dancer Alex Welch.

Skies are crying, I am watching.
Catching teardrops in my hands.
Only silence, as it's ending, like we never had a chance.
Do you have to make me feel like there's nothing left of me?

So croons Demi Lovato in her first post-rehab single, "Skyscraper."

Demi has said the track symbolizes the "journey" she's undertaken since checking herself into a facility to deal with emotional issues, such as cutting, related to bipolarity. A new album is up next, though no release date has been announced.

Listen to "Skyscraper" now and then vote: What do you think?

The comeback of Demi Lovato is almost complete.

Following months away from the music scene, which included a rehab trip for bipolarity, the young singer will release her return single on Tuesday. It will air on the Ryan Seacrest radio show and Demi will call in to chat with the host about "Skyscraper."

What will the track sound like? We'll soon find out, but Lovato had this to say a year ago:

"I'm now just taking that next step and learning how to make my music more radio-friendly but also stay very artistic, and for me that's R&B. I can put my vocal stylings on songs that are R&B and it showcases my vocals more than just singing really loud on a rock song."

Demi wants her new album to empower fans and says a video has already been shot for it. We can't wait!

Asked what fans can expect from her first song in months, Lovato recently said:

"To me it symbolizes my journey from the person I was to the happy healthy person I am today, and the fact that people are able to rise above anything, despite the odds.”

It's an important message and we look forward to hearing more from Demi. THG will post the first listen to "Skyscraper" as soon as it's available.

Like daughter, unfortunately, like mother.

A few months after Demi Lovato exited a treatment center to deal with issues related to Bipolar Disorder, sources tell The New York Post that her mother, Dianna Hart de la Garza, has now entered rehab.

Happy Demi Lovato

"It has been a tough year for Demi, and her mom has been a constant source of support. But fame has also taken its toll on her family... her mom could take some time to deal with her own issues," an insider told the newspaper.
