Following his client's confrontation with Teresa Giudice and other Real Housewives of New Jersey on this week's explosive episode, the attorney for Danielle Staub says he plans on filing a lawsuit.

Along with assault and battery charges, the lawyer says he'll seek damages for "defamation of character." To this assertion, Giudice has the following response:

HAHA!

"Don't make me laugh. I think she's defamed her own reputation all by herself," Giudice told Popeater yesterday, clearly referring to Staub's history of drug use, prostitution, sex tape production and overall lunacy.

Angry Teresa

Unlike Staub, Giudice is aware that filing a restraining order against a reality TV co-star is more ridiculous than any defense of Mel Gibson.

These women are paid to interact with one another in front of the camera. They don't just choose to do so - they profit from the confrontations!

"Believe me, if we could get a restraining order against a cast member, Danielle would have had four against her already," Teresa said. "I never threatened her. She, however, has been on camera threatening me, stalking me and even practicing doing me harm."

Meanwhile, while viewers may claim to be be disgusted by these women, the ratings say otherwise:

Tuesday's episode set a record for Bravo, becoming the highest-rated non-finale of the series. A total of 3.29 million fans tuned in.

You've gotta love reality TV.

On Monday night, Bravo aired an epic fight between Danielle Staub and Teresa Giudice. It eventually resulted in Jacqueline Laurita’s 19-year-old daughter (Ashley Holmes) ripping out the former's weave.

This confrontation actually took place in November, however, as it was documented at the time and Holmes was forced by the court to pay a $189 fine. Case closed, right?

Wrong says Staub's lawyer, Paul Giblin. Speaking to Hollywood Life, he said of the incident:  “We are going to use this footage and prepare a case against these women. We are seeking assault and battery charges, defamation of character and punitive damages as well.”

Don't You Ever!

First, we'll need a few minutes to stop laughing over the concept that anything could defame Staub at this point. Pretty sure her arrest record and sex tape have done that on their own already.

Second, any case Staub and her lawyer wished to have brought against her castmates would have been filed months ago. This incident is old news. It was simply shown to the world this week, on a series for which Staub makes hundreds of thousands of dollars to appear.

This makes Giblin's concluding comments positivelty hilarious:

“We will get restraining orders by the judge against Teresa, Ashley and all others involved... We are going to ask to impose sanctions against these women, whatever the law allows... This is some kind of conspiracy, it’s like a gang mentality.”

If Giblin is referring to the gang of Bravo writers that came up with this storyline, then he's absolutely correct.

Danielle Staub is many things - attention-starved, pornographic, spoiled, self-centered, egomaniacal, exploitive of gays - but we must add something to that list, based on a new interview with Parade:

She's right.

Dina Manzo Photo

The bat $hit crazy Real Housewife of New Jersey tells the magazine explains how this Bravo show would be nothing without her; and, really, can anyone argue with that? As much as viewers hate on Staub, they still watch her every week.

"Quite possibly without me they don't have a New Jersey Housewives," she says. "No one would tune in to watch the ham game. Or watch Jacqueline drink wine at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. I don't think people are entertained by that. But what they do tune in for is to watch them talking about me and me trying to stay away from them.

"It's incredible what a platform they've given me. So I have to say, 'Thank you, ladies. You're nothing without me on the show.'"

She has a point, one we make each week in our Real Housewives of New Jersey reviews: Why do these people continue to associate with Danielle if they hate her so much?!?

Staub was really on fire throughout the interview. A few more excerpts follow:

On social networking backlash: Why do these women not want to be around me, yet all they do is talk about me, tweet about me, Facebook about me, hire people to tweet about me and Facebook about me? And even have all their kids doing the same thing? It's a disgusting waste of time.

On the Manzos: I don't know where they are and what they are doing because I block them. I don't find their lives to be that interesting. Ham game? I think it's a disgusting waste of food.

Does she have any regrets? Not one regret. I said it in Season One, everyone will be exposed. I meant that in a real way. I got exposed from them digging up stuff about me from 25 years ago. I haven't dug at all. I haven't investigated them. Teresa said at the finale, 'I have no skeletons in my closet.' Really? You're 11 million dollars in debt, sweetie pie. And you're in your 30s.

On getting a spin-off: Danielle getting her own spin-off show would be fantastic. The Staub girls are a triple threat. It would be me and my daughters and then you'd get to see my entire family as a part of the show. And I do have a lot of business ventures, between my kids and I, and I'm managing their careers.

Danielle Staub is done with sex.

But the Real Housewife of New Jersey isn't done bashing her ex-husband. In a new interview with Us Weekly, Staub makes serious allegations against Kevin Maher.

"I was severely abused," she says. "I was in fear for my life. I was visibly bruised, injured, scared and victimized."

Staub and Maher were married in 1988, and the former goes into detail about their past in her new biography The Naked Truth. The book is largely a response to Maher's memoir, Cop Without a Badge, which accuses Danielle of kidnapping, extortion and drug use.

These two make it seem like Lindsay Lohan and her father have a stable relationship.

Staub tells the magazine that Maher is "obsessed" with her and adds there was...

"A lot of physical abuse, and then the emotional abuse that follows... We are talking days and days in a row before he was exhausted, or ran out of drugs, whatever it was that he was on."

Maher admits he hit Danielle, but only in "self-defense." He denies all accusations of long-term, unprovoked abuse. (He also says he never killed her dog. Consider that noted.)

"Some of the things she has written... are just complete lies," Maher says.  "This woman was never hospitalized by me."

Why did the volcanic couple stay together? He explains: "I was never in love with her, I was in lust with her. Our whole relationship was about sex. We had sex from the time we woke up in the morning to when we went to sleep, and even during sleeping. It was all about sex and cocaine."

That's what he should have named his book.

Brace yourselves for shocking news: the new season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey will be full of drama.

At least that's the case if you believe Dina Manzo. At an event in New York City last week, she specifically called out fellow cast member Danielle Staub.

“Danielle loves drama. She loves every second of it and being the center of attention, whether it’s positive or negative," Manzo told Hollywoodlife.com.

And Staub's response to such an accusation? The former sex tape star attempted to take the high road.

“I’m not going to put stock in her opinion,” she said. “People are figuring out I’m not the person that [the wives] make me out to be... I try to live my life and stay away from them. I stay in the positive - look on my Facebook and Twitter. I do my absolute best to inspire people."

So, what can viewers expect on the new season, which premieres on May 3?

“It’s a lot of crazy. We’re Jersey so we keep it real and we’re a little bit more street than the other housewife series," Manzo hilariously said. "We’re not afraid to show everything – the good, the bad, the ugly. And you don’t mess with us, either!”

If you have any brains, or an iota of a life, you also don't watch them on TV.
