"Bravo has offered Danielle a contract,” a show insider tells the tabloid. “Danielle is contemplating whether this will be full-time or part-time.”
Why would The Real Housewives of New Jersey want such a polarizing figure back in the fold?
Great news for all Bravo viewers who were growing sick of hating on Teresa Giudice:
Danielle Staub may be on her way back to The Real Housewives of New Jersey!
Arguably the most disliked member of that entire franchise, Staub tells TMZ that she has met with Andy Cohen.
"It was a general meeting," she said."There was a lot of talk about everything -- including Housewives."
Danielle Staub has taken time out from planning prepping her Ray J sex tape to comment on the upcoming season of her former show.
New episodes of The Real Housewives of New Jersey kick off tonight, but Staub - who exited the series a few months ago - doesn't have high hopes for her ex-castmates.
"It's not going to have the ratings," Staub told E! News. "I brought the [drama]. People either loved me or hated me, but they were paying attention. This [season] is just full out nasty family fighting. Everyone's got that. Where's the element of surprise there?"
Danielle says she won't be watching season three, but there is one thing that would draw her back to the series: "Money, money, money."

As someone who might get murdered any day now, Danielle Staub is trying to make the most of each second.
That's why she wants 2011 to be worry-free, telling Radar Online that her resolution is to "get in touch with my fun side."
"That is what I want. I want the fun girl to come out," Staub said. "Fun is sexy and cute and dorky. I'm all those things... I am me. There is always going to be haters and they win when they bring me down."
Foremost among those haters, of course, are The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Danielle's former co-stars. Does she have any advice for Teresa Giudice and company?
"Stop being mean girls and resolve to be nice to everyone. Period. There is a much better existence."
It's official: The Real Housewives of New Jersey will be far more sane next season.
Announcing the news that made its way around the Internet weeks ago, Bravo has confirmed the departure of Danielle Staub from the show's cast. Speaking on last night's reunion special - which concluded with a hug between Staub and Jacqueline Laurita - host Andy Cohen said:
"The reunion was Danielle's last appearance. We thought the hugs were a great way to end two seasons of bitterness between the women."
There will be fewer "prostitution whore" references on season three of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
The network has made contingency plans, of course. Melissa Gorga has been added to the cast already, much to the rumored chagrin of her sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice.

1. Jacqueline and Teresa alleged that Danielle Staub had sex with her boyfriend in front of Teresa's kids. Said Giudice, quite simply: "You're a pig, you're disgusting and you're desperate."
2. Teresa, on her rumored financial woes: "I have my husband, I have my four beautiful daughters and that's all I need." Let's see if she maintains that attitude when she's residing in a cardboard box next month.
Danielle Staub is a former drug dealing prostitute who spends her time on The Real Housewives of New Jersey surrounded by bodyguards with guns, lashing out at her castmates. She's also stalking them.
In other words: there are plenty of reasons to dislike this reality star. But Jacqueline Laurita has broken it down very simply for readers.
"She had a mission to destroy people," Laurita told People of her co-star's behavior on season two of the Bravo hit. "There was stuff going on that we didn’t talk about because it would draw too much attention to it. If we addressed the lies she was spreading, it [would] keep it going.”
Jacqueline's 19-year old daughter, Ashley, had her own run-in with Danielle during a country club brawl a few episodes ago.

Sources tell the latest issue of Life & Style that Danielle is determined to appear on the next season of this Bravo hit, despite the fact that she's been fired by producers. How would she accomplish this goal? By stalking her castmates, of course.
"She spends her days driving around Franklin Lakes, slowing down outside her co-stars' houses," an insider told the tabloid, while a second added: "None of them needed security before. But now everyone's nervous."
According to a new tabloid report, Bravo has finally grown weary of Danielle Staub.
Despite the record ratings The Real Housewives of New Jersey has delivered this season, a source tells Life & Style that the show's most controversial star won't return in 2011.
"Danielle was told that she would not be returning for a third season," an insider said, describing the firing as "a complete shock" to Staub.
The nut job responded to this rumor by essentially confirming it. In a statement, she said: "I'm not even thinking about season 3 right now as I am considering many incredible options that have been presented to me... next year, I'll still be the one you either love to hate or hate to love."
Oh God, is she referring to a spin-off?!?
Although Staub delivers the sort of scandals and fights that reality TV executives crave, new, extremely sordid details about her drug-dealing past came to light last week.
Combined with a sex tape, there's only so much a network can ignore.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey concludes this season on August 23 - and then airs two more reunion specials on August 30 and September 6. If Staub really is being let go, Bravo will milk every last possible second of publicity it can out of her craziness.

Following his client's confrontation with Teresa Giudice and other Real Housewives of New Jersey on this week's explosive episode, the attorney for Danielle Staub says he plans on filing a lawsuit.
Along with assault and battery charges, the lawyer says he'll seek damages for "defamation of character." To this assertion, Giudice has the following response:
HAHA!
"Don't make me laugh. I think she's defamed her own reputation all by herself," Giudice told Popeater yesterday, clearly referring to Staub's history of drug use, prostitution, sex tape production and overall lunacy.
Unlike Staub, Giudice is aware that filing a restraining order against a reality TV co-star is more ridiculous than any defense of Mel Gibson.
These women are paid to interact with one another in front of the camera. They don't just choose to do so - they profit from the confrontations!
"Believe me, if we could get a restraining order against a cast member, Danielle would have had four against her already," Teresa said. "I never threatened her. She, however, has been on camera threatening me, stalking me and even practicing doing me harm."
Meanwhile, while viewers may claim to be be disgusted by these women, the ratings say otherwise:
