Crystal Bowersox, who hails from Ohio, finished second on season nine of American Idol.
Crystal has a son and describes herself as a folk rock and blues singer. She also plays the guitar and admires Janis Joplin.
Bowersox first started singing and playing at the age of 10. She now resides in Chicago and also points to Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge and Sista Otis as musical influences.
We loved her rendition of "People Get Ready" on the show.
