Crystal Bowersox, who hails from Ohio, finished second on season nine of American Idol.
Crystal has a son and describes herself as a folk rock and blues singer. She also plays the guitar and admires Janis Joplin.
Bowersox first started singing and playing at the age of 10. She now resides in Chicago and also points to Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge and Sista Otis as musical influences.
We loved her rendition of "People Get Ready" on the show.

Crystal caught my eye because I thought she was better.I live in toledo area but that has nothing to do with it.Crystal started years ago and I am glad she worked her way off the streets so to speak.The public spoke and put her in the top.In sports sometimes the the best team doesnt win and one manager said that just because you win that doesnt mean you played a good game. later

From the beginning Crystal was my favorite, I voted as many times as I could for her. In my opinion she was great every week if you liked what she sang or not. It's not always liking the song choice but how she sung it that mattered and that's where the judges where wrong in saying "that wasn't my favorite song choice for you". She should have won, maybe the missing teeth turned some people off, who know. People don't realize you can dial in as many times as you want and there is no charge. Lee was good also but should have been second. I can't wait for her cd to come out. I have bought several american idol cd's.

I never was a fan of any artist ever!! But since I have heard Chrystal from day one I know that she really is a special talent. A special talent with a special kind of something that you don't see or hear every day. I just know that she will outshine any artist and will be the most loved of any artist. She touches you when she sings. I am now a Chrystal Bowersox fan and it feels good! I wish her all the best and I know that millions and millions of people around the Globe will also love her. Keep on singing and the world will rock with you. Rock on Chrystal the world is waiting to hear more of you!!!

Just finished watching the finale (Norway). I fell off my chair!!!It's too bad most of the votes came from people who vote with their eyes instead of their ears!! Crystal was a clear winner throughout the competition! WHAT A VOICE!! AMAZING TALENT!! Crystal..hurry up with your album!

I think the reason Chrystal lost was because a lot of women watch American Idol. It is more less a chick show and there fore Lee got most of the votes. Also Lee is genuine and pure at heart. Chrystal is great, no doubt. But peirced lips, dread locks and tattoos could have gone against her too. She seemed to have a conceided attitude too. But all in all she is great.

I really do think that Cristal should have won ,because she was good week after week. I really hope that a label picks here up.

I can't believe that Lee won either! She is just miles ahead of him in talent and experience performing. I'm sure Lee feels a little weird about it too. I sometimes wonder if the audience votes opposite the judges’ opinion just to spite Simon.
I’ve never seen the second place person get as much TV time as Crystal, and rightfully so. Anyway, Crystal rich with talent and she is now where most singers get to a few years down the road. Crystal is going to be a huge star and I can’t wait until she cuts her first album. I’m very happy for her!

Crystal is the best hands down. She should have won. I will never watch American Idol again! She is a great person, has a great heart and voice. She will survive!! Love your music Crystal!!!
