Christina Aguilera in Burlesque: I'm a Good Girl!
Christina Aguilera tried to be a wife, but she failed at that role last month when she and Jordan Bratman filed for divorce.
She tried to be a singer, and that worked for a few years - but Aguilera's most recent album tanked so badly that she pulled the plug on all promotion for it and canceled her summer tour.
Up next for Christina? Acting! She makes her big screen debut in Burlesque, co-starring with Cher in the musical, which will be released on November 24. Watch Aguilera play the part of an aspiring stage performer in the clip below, moving and shaking to the song "But I Am a Good Girl."
Christina Aguilera Shakes Off Divorce, Performs in Las Vegas
Following her divorce from Jordan Bratman, Christina Aguilera said in a new interview that it's hard to get out of bed some days.
But the singer shook off these doldrums and made it to Las Vegas over the weekend, where she was one of several performers to take the stage for Justin Timberlake & Friends Concert at Planet Hollywood Resorts and Casino. It benefited Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Aguilera entertained fans with such hits as “Beautiful,” “Fighter” and “Not Myself Tonight." Enjoy her rendition of the former single in the video below.
Christina Aguilera on Divorce: It's Not Easy
Some reports say she enjoyed an open marriage. Others say she recently hooked up with Samantha Ronson.
In an interview with the December issue of Redbook, though, Christina Aguilera doesn't make her divorce sound too atypical from others across the country. It's simply been very hard.
"It's not easy, and there have been a lot of tears and sadness," she says. "It's impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight. Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward."
No longer a wife, Christina Aguilera will always be a mother to Max.
There have been rumors of infidelity involving both her and Jordan Bratman, but Christina took the high road when asked about the split:
“Out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private. Right now, I’m just trying to figure out how to make it through each day."
Did Christina Aguilera Hook Up with Samantha Ronson?
A recently-single, quasi-openly bisexual Christina Aguilera may have hooked up with Samantha Ronson during the late stages of her marriage to Jordan Bratman.
So states a source to Radar Online, as this individual claims Christina "turned to" Lindsay Lohan's famous ex for "emotional support" as her relationship with Bratman fell apart.
Could you blame Christina for turning to a hottie such as Samantha in times of need?
"They've known each other forever and they're good friends," said the insider. "Samantha was in Mexico with Christina for Nicole's [Richie] bachelorette party."
The website also has quoted sources that say Aguilera sent bodyguards to random women in clubs and asked if they wanted to go home with the singer. Such an open arrangement eventually created enough jealousy in Bratman that he wanted out of the marriage.
Random Female: Christina Aguilera Slept With Women, Open Marriage Led to Divorce
The split between Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman came as a surprise to many celebrity gossip followers. But not as much of a surprise as the supposed reason behind it:
Aguilera slept with women!
According to a random, anonymous female, Christina's bodyguard once approached her at a club and said his boss wanted to meet her... without any clothes on!
Going after men or women, Christina Aguilera - like her large breasts - won't have a problem bouncing back.
“The bodyguard told me it was an understanding within their marriage and that she brings girls home and Jordan’s okay with it," said the source. "I met Christina in the bathroom and she told me she liked to play with girls. I ended up not pursuing anything with it because the situation just seemed so weird to me, but Christina was definitely looking to hook up.”
What a Girl Wants: Christina Aguilera Files for Divorce
So much for naked Sundays.
Despite the inclusion of this event in the lives of Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman, the couple is splitting up. Two days after their separation went public, the singer has cited "irreconcilable differences" and filed for divorce from her husband of six years.
The couple reportedly signed a prenuptial agreement, as the divorce petition reads: "Earnings and accumulations of [Aguilera] before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation" will be considered separate property.
Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman: It's Over!
There's something bad in the Hollywood relationship water.
First, Ben Harper and Laura Dern split. Then, Courteney Cox and David Arquette announced a separation. Now, Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman have taken time apart, sources tell Us Weekly.
“They were very much in love. But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife," says an insider, adding that Christina “proposed [an] August trip to Italy to rekindle their relationship, but it didn’t help.”
New Christina Aguilera Music Video: Thumbs Up or Down?
Christina Aguilera has released the official music video for her new single, "You Lost Me."
Finally happy to discuss a subject that is NOT related to any Lady Gaga comparisons, Aguilera dished to Entertainment Tonight about the video shoot:
“What I wanted was a very raw and real feeling, kind of falling apart of your whole world. I have to credit Sia for coming to me with this idea and this concept in general.
“I draw upon pain of other situations from my life to put into storytelling... pain is almost a comfort zone for me.”
That's a bit disturbing. Watch the video below and then sound off with your thoughts on it:
Christina Aguilera Sings NBA Finals National Anthem, Celebs Cheer Lakers to Victory
Her new album failed to land at the top of the charts during its first week of release, but Christina Aguilera still felt like a winner last night.
That's because the singer opened Game Six of the NBA Finals with a rousing rendition of the national anthem and then sat courtside as the Los Angeles Lakers pummeled the Boston Celtics 89-67, setting up a decisive Game Seven for the title tomorrow night.
Watch Xtina show off her vocal range now:
Aguilera wasn't the only celebrity at the game.
As usual, the crowd was filled with more famous faces than Katsuya on a Saturday night. The most surprising sighting? Michelle Obama and will.i.am sharing a corporate box.
While we try to come up with ways to taunt and jinx Mr. Khloe Kardashian before Game Seven, take a look below at who else took in the contest:
Christina Aguilera: No Pants? No Problem!
Christina Aguilera has been shopping in Miley Cyrus' closet.
The singer appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman yesterday, and there was nary a pair of pants in sight.
Instead, Christina honored her former Mickey Mouse Club castmate and pulled a Britney on viewers. Photographers spotted her outside the Letterman studio, trying to avoid the rain and, based on this outfit, the cold...
