Might Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin be in the midst of a conscious... recoupling?

In March, Paltrow and Martin announced their divorce after 10 years of marriage, but rumors heated up last month that the famous exes were calling off their split.

And that chatter is bound to grow louder after both stars attended a movie screening in East Hampton last night.

Accompanied by mother Blythe Danner, Paltrow hosted the event, held in honor of Hector And The Search For Happiness, a movie that stars Martin’s long-time pal Simon Pegg.

The Coldplay frontman was therefore also in attendance, acting like anything except a bitter ex-husband.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin called off their divorce last month, thus bringing an end to the world's first (and hopefully last) experiment in "conscious uncoupling."

But it's been rumored that Chris and Gwyneth had an open relationship in the past, so just because they're staying together doesn't mean they need to stop banging other people, right?

According to Page Six, Gwyneth was spotted on what appeared to be a date with a "hot young guy" earlier this week.

"He had curly, shaggy hair and looked like he was in his 30s," said one witness. "I think they may have been holding hands."

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin introduced the phrase "conscious uncoupling" to the world when they decided to end their ten-year marriage back in March.

Now it seems the couple's unique approach to breaking up either worked like a charm or failed miserably, because Chris and Gwyneth have reportedly decided to call off their divorce.

"It's true they had problems, but in the weirdest way, this 'conscious uncoupling' situation has relieved the pressure on them," a source tells The Daily Mirror

"They may have consciously uncoupled a few months ago, but they seem to be re-coupling now. No one will be surprised if they get back together."

Chris Martin stopped by a Los Angeles area convenience store recently where the Coldplay singer astonishingly stopped to answer paparazzi questions about whether he and Gwyneth Paltrow are getting back together.

The answer? Maybe! Or maybe not...

When asked why he's still spending time with his ex, Martin simply replied, "Well, you've gotta hang out, you know?"

Realizing that he may have led the paparazzi to believe that he and Gwyneth are patching things up, Martin then clarified that despite having just answered the question he is "not answering your question."

Yes, Chris is frustratingly vague when discussing his "conscious uncoupling," but he does seem to acknowledge that the photogs have good reason to wonder if the famous couple is on the verge of reconciliation.

After all, Paltrow and Martin are still living together and have been recently spotted going out on what appear to be dates.

Apparently "conscious uncoupling" is a longer process than any of us realized.

According to a new report from TMZ, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are still living together, despite having announced their separation back in March.

The cohabitation revelation came in the form of leaked court documents related to a crazed fan who's been stalking Gwyneth for years, at one point even making his way into her home.

Understandably, Gwyneth has filed for a restraining order against her stalker. Less understandable is the fact that the petition lists Chris as one of the protected parties and includes a handwritten note indicating that Martin lived with Paltrow.

Chris Martin's affair with Alexa Chung was one of the many causes of his split from Gwyneth Paltrow, according to Lainey Gossip.

Chung and Martin are said to have carried on a secret affair for several months before his divorce, possibly with Paltrow's consent.

Now that Chris and Gwyneth are done "consciously uncoupling," however, Martin and Chung are free to date openly, and it seems that's just what they're doing.

Chris was in New York City to perform on SNL over the weekend.

Alexa was also in town for the MET Gala, and according to witnesses, the formerly low-key couple were happy to get close with one another in public.

Last week, Chris Martin spoke about his split from Gwyneth Paltrow in a candid interview with the BBC radio.

The full transcript of the interview - released today - reveals a surprising twist to the "conscious uncoupling" saga, as Chris apparently feels his own emotional issues caused his marriage to fail:

"About two years ago I was a mess," Chris says in the interview. "Really because I was unable to enjoy the things we are good at it and I can't enjoy the great things around me because I am burdened by this."

When Chris says "we," it's unclear if he's referring to his bandmates or his wife, but Coldplay hasn't broken up, so we think it's safe to say that "burden" he's talking about is Gwyneth.

There's been a lot of talk about the "conscious uncoupling" of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin in recent weeks, but none of it has come from Chris himself.

Chris finally opened up about his highly publicized separation during a recent BBC radio interview, speaking honestly about the heartbreak he's experienced and his efforts to stay on friendly terms with the mother of his two children.

"Everyone in their lives goes through challenges," said the Coldplay singer when asked about his marriage. "Whether it's love or money or kids or illness. There have been a lot of false headlines recently, but this would be a real one."

Chris did not address rumors that he cheated with Alexa Chung or that he and Gwyneth participated in an open marriage in which both parties were free to pursue romantic relationships outside of their relationship.

Gwyneth Paltrow may be pretending for all the world like she's totally cool with "consciously uncoupling" from husband Chris Martin, but according to sources close to the couple, Paltrow wanted desperately to hide her marital troubles from the public.

According to the New York Post, Gwyneth had every intention of pretending she and Martin were happily married, even thought they both wanted to go their separate ways.

"It was [Martin's] idea to announce the split," says the anonymous insider. "They had drifted apart and there was no chance they'd get back together, so he felt it was wrong to go on pretending."

We hate to say this, but Gwyneth may have had the right idea about keeping things quiet.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin wanted the world to believe they were above the ugliness of divorce and prove to us through "conscious uncoupling" that married couples can split peacefully and remain best friends. While that may be true, it seems Chris and Gwyneth can't pull it off.

Gwyneth Paltrow Waves

Countless affair rumors have emerged since the couple separated, alleging that Chris and Gwyneth were both sleeping around regularly. Now it seems the source of some of these details may have been none other than Gwyneth herself.

Radar Online reports that Chris believes Gwyneth is the one leaking rumors about his affairs and feeding the press lies about what a negligent father he is.

A source close to Chris says he suspects Gwyneth of launching a full-blown smear campaign in "an effort to sully his image and make him look less sympathetic.”

And why would Gwinnie go to such trouble? So that she can cash in big time, of course!
