As soon as Ali Fedotowsky declared in the opening moments that she has never felt better, you knew The Bachelorette was going to be good. But not this good.

Not even the spoilers we've known all season long could have prepared us for the unspeakable awesomeness that was the ABC show's outing of Justin Rego.

According to reports, it wasn't even faked. Rated R was legitimately busted, undone by his two-timing ways in Canada, a scandal dumped in producers' laps.

It was classic.

Obviously, you can't help but wonder what was re-edited, re-shot or flat-out contrived, but does it really matter? This is reality TV entertainment at its best.

The rest of the episode was pretty dull, but that can be forgiven, thanks to the opening sequences? THG breaks down all the action below in its +/- index ...

An Ali Fedotowsky Picture

RATED R FOR REJECTED: Ali sent Justin packing.

In Turkey, venerable Bachelorette host Chris Harrison is the bearer of bad news for Ali Fedotowsky. Plus 9, because as a pimp, you gotta protect your employees.

Ali's friend and former co-star on Jake Pavelka's season, Jessie Sudilis, NEEDS to speak to her now. Minus 3, though, 'cause it takes 50 rings for her to answer.

Somehow, Jessie knows Justin Rego's girlfriend, Jessica Spillas, who just found out Justin was cheating on HER with Kimberly Kerekes. Plus 5. Nice, Rated R.

After a loooong phone call, we learn from Jessie that Justin only went on The Bachelorette for publicity. Minus 7 because we don't buy Ali's "stunned" face.

Plus 3 for the documentary-style filming, (relatively) unedited and without music, and Plus 6 more for Chris busting out an iPhone pic of Justin and Jessica.

Minus 1 for the fact that Jessie is gona be on Bachelor Pad, and Minus 5 for the time-honored, scripted line: "I know he's not there for the right reasons."

Ali calls Justin out publicly, asking if he misses his girlfriend in Canada. Plus 10. He reacts how any upstanding guy would ... he makes a run for it! Plus 17.

Pimpin

TAKIN' CARE OF BUSINESS: Host-pimp Chris makes the call.

It only gets better as Ali gives chase and Justin escapes, only to come limping back later. He tries to talk his way out of it, but he's a really bad liar. Minus 9.

Justin hobbles off, presumably stranded in a Turkish bazaar. Plus 7. As he does so, messages he left Jessica while he was on the show are played. Plus 12.

Finally, we move on to Ty's date with Ali in a Turkish bathhouse, one of many reasons this was the most homoerotic episode of The Bachelorette ever. Even.

Ty talks about his divorce, Tenley Molzahn style, and we know this is supposed to be a powerful moment and all, but Minus 4, because it just can't compare.

On the group date, Kirk, Chris, Roberto and Craig wrestle random Turkish dudes, then each other, while covered in olive oil. See two sentences above. Plus 6.

Craig prevails, but Chris L. is the true winner with his good looks and hilarious comments. Will he get engaged to Ali (see The Bachelorette spoilers)? Plus 7.

On Craig's date, he falls so hard into the friend zone, his fate is sealed. Minus 4. Contrast that with Frank's date, in which they're all over each other. Plus 4.

Oh, Plus 5 for Ali's belly-dancing outfit. They had to throw us guys something.

TOTAL: +58. SEASON: +159.

Roses: Ty and Frank (earlier dates), Roberto, Chris and Kirk.

Out: Justin (abandoned in Istanbul) and Craig (friend zone).

A little over a year after being dumped by Jason Mesnick on the "After the Final Rose" special, Melissa Rycroft is heading back to The Bachelor mansion.

Not to find love this time - she's happily married to Tye Strickland, in fact - but to co-host Bachelor Pad, ABC's new spin-off featuring past contestants.

Chris Bukowski Picture

We kid not, this is a real show.

Joining Melissa Rycroft for co-MC'ing duties will be a man who needs no introduction, venerable Bachelor and Bachelorette host-pimp Chris Harrison.

“I’m excited.” Rycroft says. “It’s fun. It’s a brand new experience for me. I’ve never been on that side but I’m anxious. I’m excited and ready to start.”

The gorgeous Melissa Rycroft made the finals of Dancing with the Stars and has been a correspondent for Good Morning America since her Bachelor appearance.

The show, which has already started filming, will feature an all-star reunion of “some of the most unforgettable contestants and suitors,” says ABC.

Two words, ABC: Wes. Hayden. Make it happen.

The gang will live together in the mansion as they compete in a series of challenges and dates for a chance at winning $250,000 and perhaps more.

Could another shot at love await any of these hotties? ABC couldn't care less, as long as it has a Bachelor franchise installment for every season now.

Works for us! We heart Melissa! On a related note, check out THG's recap of The Bachelorette for a humorous take on Monday night's debauchery.

"The more I got to to know her, the more I realized she's this strong, independent, beautiful woman, but very vulnerable." - Chris Harrison on Ali Fedotowsky

As the star of The Bachelorette, premiering one week from tonight (May 24), she has 25 men vying for her love. Men subject to dismissal at her every whim.

But will the gorgeous blonde herself be the one who's worried?

Ali Fedotowsky, who bowed out of contention for Jake Pavelka on The Bachelor this winter, harbors major insecurities, says the show's venerable host-pimp.

"Everyone brings their own kind of baggage to the show," Harrison told Us Weekly over the weekend. "Ali [is] a girl that has in the past been hurt before."

Chris Harrison debonairly escorts Ali Fedotowsky.

Harrison continued: "She really had this fear of almost being rejected. Like, 'Yes, I'm going to fall in love, but really worried that I'm not going to get love back.'"

"Everyone has bones in the closet they have to deal with. Hers was 'I'm going to put myself out there. I'm ready for love, but are these guys going to love me?'"

He declined to comment on The Bachelorette spoilers we're all wondering about, but he did say this about the upcoming season: "There is a phenomenal ending."

But is it a happy ending?

"I'll say this: Ali had to make a very tough choice at the end, several tough choices, and I think she's satisfied with how it ends and satisfied with her choice."

Typical Bachelorette non-answer - they stopped writing material for Chris years ago. Not that we care - we're counting down the days! We're just saying though.

In an emotional season finale, The Bachelorette star Jillian Harris ended up with Ed Swiderski, ousting Kiptyn Locke and leaving Reid Rosenthal devastated.

After Kiptyn was rejected, it appeared as if Reid might sweep Jillian off her feet with his dramatic return to the show. But ultimately, Jillian's feelings for Ed, the Chicago native who left and returned himself this season, were just too strong.

The episode began on the big island of Hawaii and a date with her parents, Ed Swiderski and his chest hair. He admits to her folks that he used to be married to his girlfriend in Chicago job, but now is here because he loves Jillian.

Glenn Harris gave Ed Swiderski his blessing to propose to Jillian.

Then it is time for Jillian's date with Kiptyn Locke. They are reunited at last. They kiss. A lot. They kiss again. They say a few words. And so on, et cetera.

Asked if he's in love with Jillian Harris, Kiptyn says he's "getting there." Moments later, he admits (to the camera) that he is in love with her. More kissing.

After meeting both guys, her parents and hot cousin praise ... both. Jill is still torn. Fortunately, she goes on second dates with both of the perfect fellas.

  • Jillian Waits
  • The Limo Ride

Jillian Harris' decision on love did not come easy. Wes would understand.

Ed's goes really well, with no sign of performance anxiety. He confesses that he wants to be with Jillian ... forever. Hard to top that, although Kiptyn Locke tries, saying he's ready to commit and wants Jillian to - OMG - move to San Diego.

In a shameless plug for Neil Lane, the guys both pick out rings. The dudes are hella nervous. Jillian has made her decision and decides she is going to let go of ...

... Kiptyn. Even after he was gonna propose and stuff. Heartbreaking.

Sad as she is, Jillian can now focus all her attention on ... wait, is that a mysterious taxi pulling up! Yes! With Reid Rosenthal, who arrives, shirt untucked!

In tears, Reid says he had to pull "a million" strings to get back on the show (yeah, right), admits his mistakes, and professes his undying love to Jillian. Swoon.

He drops to one knee and pops the question! It's the most romantic thing ever. But ... crickets. Jillian: "I need to think aboot this." She leaves. Reid waits.

Fortunately, Chris Harrison is there to coach her. He tells her to follow her heart. Jillian: "How do I make a decision like this?" Chris: "Because you know." Pimp.

Jillian cuts Reid loose for the second time. That's gotta be rough.

Even a valiant effort by Reid Rosenthal couldn't stave off Ed Swiderski.

Finally, it's Ed's turn to walk across the pool and into Jillian's arms. He professes his love to Jillian once again, gets down to one knee and asks her to marry him.

She accepts! They embrace! Tears flow. He gives her a piggyback ride. Cue obligatory cheesy montage of Ed-Jillian highlights from weeks past as the credits roll!

Will Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski last?

This fourth episode of the current season of The Bachelorette marked a turning point in Jillian Harris' journey. From David getting nixed, to Kiptyn emerging as a contender and nasty rumors circulating, things started to get a bit intense.

The venerable host and pimp of The Bachelorette, Chris Harrison, was kind enough as always to divulge, in his weekly blog with EW, some of what went on behind the scenes of the ABC hit. Here are some of his thoughts and comments ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my mind, this season really starts now. As you could probably tell, the goofy fun and games are over and things have now taken a very serious turn.
From here on out this season of The Bachelorette is a fantastic roller coaster ride that I really can't compare with any other season we've had.
This is the first season ever where three weeks in we've left our main house and never returned. We do have one more rose ceremony in Los Angeles later on but not at this house. Personally, I loved the travel and felt like it really fit for this season.
Jillian Harris clearly loved being back home in Vancouver. It gave her a little more confidence and an extra spring in her step being on her home turf.
Jillian definitely had a thing for Kiptyn since the moment he stepped out of the limo. She told me how gorgeous she thought he was on night one.
Their one-on-one date in Vancouver couldn't have gone better in her eyes.
Chris Harrison and Jillian Harris
I'm going to go head and try to answer next week's question now. No, that wasn't Jillian's actual loft. She does live just down the street and they are very similar, but for privacy purposes we had to use a different loft.
Jillian wanted you to know she really did make her homemade pasta sauce and salad dressing. She did it all in 45 minutes and she claims it was really good.
You could tell she loved this date and was as giddy as a school girl. Did you notice the little happy dance she did right after she closed the door? Classic Jilli.
Then came the "Olympic" group date with 50 guys. The truth is, every four years I find myself entranced by this damn sport during the Olympics.
Yeah, I said it. I like frozen shuffleboard. It's hypnotic.
Let me just say next that I sympathize with Jake.
This week's episode of The Bachelorette, the third of the current season, featured some atrocious acting, more of Wes' lame singing, a one-on-one date with fan favorite Ed, Tanner P.'s fetish and David's rapidly escalating rage.
Bachelorette host-pimp Chris Harrison certainly had ample material for his weekly blog with EW, and was kind enough to share some funny thoughts and anecdotes with us. Here are some behind-the-scenes excerpts ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We have a lot to deal with this week... Dave's rage, Tanner's fetish, etc,

Many of you asked to see more Ed. If you liked Ed before, I'm guessing you love him even more now. Is it just me, or was that the slowest zip cord ride ever?

Jillian told me she wanted to go faster but they wouldn't let them.

Now on to the group date, or as I like to call it, the Western Porn.

Tanner P., I'm sorry man, that outfit was just wrong. Brad's kiss... was it "ultra bad ass" or ultra awkward? The Brokeback Mountain scene... let's just move on.

Jillian Harris was a little freaked out by all the kissing scenes but dealt with it. Just know she wasn't happy about all that. David's rage begins to build, level 1!

Jillian and Juan

Juan and Jillian act out a scene in a faux Western. David's rage level climbs.

Sasha got the other individual date. This was a dream date for Jillian.

It seemed like things were going well but Jillian just wasn't feeling it and with so many guys left, if she could eliminate one then, it made life that much easier.

Jillian told me she was really concerned about Sasha's lack of relationship experience. He's never been in love and that's something she wants her partner to have gone through. My question: Did we really send him home on a city bus?

Let's talk about Wes and his golden guitar of love.

Monday night's episode of The Bachelorette featured a surprise vote, a date that turned into a race, a foot fetish, and even some full frontal nudity.

Naturally, venerable Bachelorette host-pimp Chris Harrison had plenty of material for his weekly blog this time around. Here are some excerpts ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's always fun to move the guys into the outhouse, or "bunkhouse" as these guys end up calling it. This season moving 20 guys into that space was pretty funny. It was so packed in there they were sleeping in single bunks right next to each other.
The group race for Jillian was fun. Pretty funny leaving Michael up on the balcony, as he was acting all cocky. Wes ended up winning the competition and dinner. More importantly, this is also where the guys begin to question his motives.
One of the coolest dates this year (especially for Jillian, a huge fan) was the concert with Martina McBride. Turns out, Martina is a big fan of the show and really wanted to be a part of it. She was awesome on stage and awesome to deal with.
One surprise for Jillian and the guys during the party was the vote. Tensions were already running a little high, and I don't think the ballot box helped.
The Great Chris Harrison
I thought Brad would get the most votes, but he didn't get any. Juan really started to rub some of the guys the wrong way but Jillian decided to save him. One thing I didn't mention is that I got one vote to be sent home - that was pretty funny.
Mike ran into the ocean in a bikini. He bought those off of some random guy on the beach for $10. Jillian thought that was very funny, and he ended up getting a rose. Running in a bikini, funny... Brian going full nude at the party, not so much.
Many commented on Tanner P. and his foot fetish. I talked to Jillian today, and she told me she found it unique and kind of funny, not creepy. They laughed and had fun with it, unlike, say, Brian going full frontal at the party.
Jillian Harris put it best in the deliberation room - she likes to have fun and wants to see the guys be themselves, but there's a line of decency and it was crossed.
There's fun and cute, and there's a lack of respect - and for Brian, it was the latter. Jillian felt uncomfortable, and in the end that helped her send him home.
On a personal note, that's just not something I ever need to see again.  Brian was right - the skinny dip did volumes separating him from the rest of the guys.
Monday night's season premiere of The Bachelorette featured a lot of hot new guys and a familiar leading lady who stepped into the starring role with flying colors.
Jillian Harris' quest for love is going to be a fun ride.
Here's what Jillian herself had to say about meeting not just 25, but 30 men she must choose from, as excerpted from her blog on People.com ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Being The Bachelorette has been such an incredible experience for me, and I am really looking forward to sharing some of the exciting little tidbits that don’t make it into the show each week right here in this blog.

First things first! I searched long and hard for the perfect gown. The one we settled on was vintage, and had been worn on the red carpet.

I felt incredible in it, but it did need a lot of work to help it fit me like it did.

The only sad part/ The driveway outside is sprayed down before shooting to give it a nice glimmer, so the bottom of my gown got wet while I was waiting for the men!

Speaking of waiting for the limos, that was the very first moment that I felt nervous. I had a strange sense of calm all day, right up until that first limo pulled up.

Bachelorette Dance-Off!

The break-dance-off with Michael and Greg was one of the most fun moments of the night for me. I know I am not the greatest dancer, so I loved that the guys were able to encourage me and poke some fun at the same time.

I was completely overwhelmed by the first 25 guys. I had such a hard time remembering names that I called Jesse Josh ... twice! But then to have 5 more super-hot guys enter the room now that was almost more than I could handle!

I was the most nervous at the rose ceremony, when I had to eliminate 10 great guys. It was the first indication I had that I wasn’t going to be cool as a cucumber all season. It was incredible, difficult and emotional all at the same time."

Follow the jump for some more thoughts, this time from Chris Harrison, venerable Bachelor and Bachelorette host-pimp for 18 seasons, on Monday's show ...

It was a stunning breakup everybody totally none of us saw coming.

Reality TV lovebirds DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak are history.

Ashley Hebert on the Season Finale

The host of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Chris Harrison, tells Entertainment tonight: "DeAnna went to Breckenridge last week and broke up with Jesse. He was stunned. I've talked to Jesse several times, and he did not see it coming."

Harrison claims DeAnna Pappas leaked the break-up to the press early:

"They agreed that this was not going to get out to the public until Thursday, they were going to release a joint statement and try and keep this above board, and she went out on her own, leaked it, and so he's just feeling a little beat up."

Jesse Csincsak and DeAnna Pappas in happier times. Like this summer.

"He really truly loved DeAnna," Harrison said of Jesse Csincsak. "He was so happy. He's like, 'Let's just go to Breckenridge, let's go to Atlanta, let's get the heck out of here, and let's live our lives. Let's just get to know each other and hang out.'"

Interestingly, Harrison says that the supposedly down-home DeAnna Pappas started having big Hollywood dreams and getting "bad advice" from people in L.A.

"... Paparazzi guys and some of the other people that she's been running into that have filled her head with, you know, these dreams that she's going to come to Hollywood and make it big and do all this stuff. And I think her head's getting a little bigger than it should and I think that's led to this as well."
