"The more I got to to know her, the more I realized she's this strong, independent, beautiful woman, but very vulnerable." - Chris Harrison on Ali Fedotowsky

As the star of The Bachelorette, premiering one week from tonight (May 24), she has 25 men vying for her love. Men subject to dismissal at her every whim.

But will the gorgeous blonde herself be the one who's worried?

Ali Fedotowsky, who bowed out of contention for Jake Pavelka on The Bachelor this winter, harbors major insecurities, says the show's venerable host-pimp.

"Everyone brings their own kind of baggage to the show," Harrison told Us Weekly over the weekend. "Ali [is] a girl that has in the past been hurt before."

Chris Harrison debonairly escorts Ali Fedotowsky.

Harrison continued: "She really had this fear of almost being rejected. Like, 'Yes, I'm going to fall in love, but really worried that I'm not going to get love back.'"

"Everyone has bones in the closet they have to deal with. Hers was 'I'm going to put myself out there. I'm ready for love, but are these guys going to love me?'"

He declined to comment on The Bachelorette spoilers we're all wondering about, but he did say this about the upcoming season: "There is a phenomenal ending."

But is it a happy ending?

"I'll say this: Ali had to make a very tough choice at the end, several tough choices, and I think she's satisfied with how it ends and satisfied with her choice."

Typical Bachelorette non-answer - they stopped writing material for Chris years ago. Not that we care - we're counting down the days! We're just saying though.

As a figure of speech, of course. As the upstanding host and pimp of The Bachelor for approximately 200 seasons, Chris Harrison always gets the last word in.

Usually, it's "ladies ... the final rose tonight." This week, he's speaking one last time on the Rozlyn Papa scandal that resurfaced on the "Women Tell All" special.

"You won't hear me speak out about Rozlyn any more after this interview," Chris told E!. "All I wanted was for everybody to see what you saw in the special."

"I think everybody should and will be moving on now."

All he wanted was to show you an edited version of him railroading Rozlyn? Perhaps, but Chris was nothing if not cool, calm, collected and classy on Monday.

Chris and Rozlyn

After Rozlyn Papa insinuated that he hit on the wife of Ryan Callahan (the producer Rozlyn was booted for her relationship with), Chris simply shrugged it off.

It's hard out there for a pimp, but you gotta persevere.

"I feel really good about it," Chris said. "I wanted the audience to hear the details, what the women saw, how [Rozlyn and the producer] made it so obvious."

Rozlyn still denies anything inappropriate took place with Callahan, but that's fine with Chris, who's confident the evidence was presented and the point made.

As for Monday's finale, when we'll finally learn if The Bachelor spoilers of Vienna winning are nauseatingly true and how Jake and his airhead bride are doing?

"I feel bad if this [scandal] has taken away from our finale," Chris said. "I hope people will move on, because Tenley, Vienna and Jake deserve it. It's a really good finale; it's one of the most beautiful finales we've ever had. It'll be really great to watch."

The traditional pre-season finale "Women Tell All" reunion special of The Bachelor is always mostly filler - and a total misnomer, as they really tell surprisingly little.

Still, there were fireworks as Rozlyn Papa returned to confront Chris Harrison and the stage was set for next week's epic Tenley Molzahn-Vienna Girardi showdown.

As always, THG endured two freaking hours of the colon-tastic The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love: The Women Tell All to recap all the action in our +/- system:

Jake said self-defecating when he meant self-deprecating. Plus 3.

Wes Hayden of last season's Bachelorette is back for some reason. He says he's getting "a thousand more nibbles" on his dating pole these days. Gross. Minus 4.

Crazy ass Michelle tried to explain her crazy ass behavior, but just came across as even more unstable. Her best defense: "Ask my friends. I have a job!" Plus 9.

Chris Harrison didn't let up on Rozlyn Papa, but she held her own.

Rozlyn Papa was confronted by fellow Bachelor hopefuls about her relationship with producer Ryan Callahan, which got them both fired from the show. According to Ella, Rozlyn got on all fours, in wearing booty shorts and said to the women, "If you see [Ryan], send him in ... I need to be put to bed!" Plus 40.

The venerable host and pimp of The Bachelor, Chris Harrison, then took his turn with Rozlyn, accusing her of making stories up like his young son does. Minus 16.

She wouldn't back down though. When he said he was saddened by having to let "his friend" go, Rozlyn countered that Chris is no friend, having hit on Ryan's wife in New Zealand. Chris refused to "dignity that with a response." Awkward! Plus 25.

Jake Pavelka Shirtless

Shirtless Jake Pavelka has a tough decision to make next week.

The girls all praise Ms. Perfect, Tenley Molzahn. Jessie: "She almost fell out of a Disney movie." Gia: "She sh*ts rainbows." Minus 34 for them feeding us this crap just so we're devastated when Tenley loses next week. Brace for the pain.

Despite hating on her all season, the girls go easy on Vienna. Even Ali Fedotowsky apologized. Weak. Minus 46. We want catty comments and chairs thrown.

The next Bachelorette is going to be Ali Fedotowsky. In her interview, she said: "I believe life is measured by the risks we take ... If I could go back and do it differently, I probably would. I'm an advocate of women having careers, but I don't want to look back and say I didn't love enough." Excellent writing, story editors! Plus 30.

TOTAL: -3. SEASON: +9.

Who should Jake Pavelka give his final rose to next week?

Rozlyn Papa, who was kicked off The Bachelor for an alleged relationship with a crew member, will be back for The Women Tell All special - with a vengeance.

She returned to confront her accusers at the taping for the traditional pre-season finale Women Tell All special with a shocking accusation of her own this time.

“I wasn’t nice to Chris Harrison,” the model said of The Bachelor host-pimp, who banished her for a supposed "inappropriate relationship" with Ryan Callahan.

Of her non-relationship with Callahan, who was also canned, Rozlyn says “Everyone who knows me knows that it wasn’t true and it’s all kind of silly.”

Rozlyn Papa says she called out Harrison, who she says “does not do well handling actual confrontation... it wasn’t scripted, he does well with scripted."

Chris Harrison: Bachelor Host

Rozlyn Papa is calling out Chris Harrison's meddling ... and flirting.

After Chris told her that he was hurt because one of "our dear friends" was fired over her supposed relations with him, Rozlyn retorted, "It’s funny you say that."

"I talk to this producer, the fact that you are friends is news to him. He didn’t get a friendly vibe when you were hitting on his wife last year in New Zealand!”

Ouch.

According to Rozlyn, Chris reacted poorly to her accusations. “He did not stomach it very well. He tried to play it off at first but you could tell he was pissed.”

The 28-year-old vixen says her time on stage abruptly ended after she accused Harrison, who is married, of hitting on Ryan Callahan’s wife (who dumped him).

“As soon as Chris Harrison started getting angry they whisked me off stage,” she said. “They’re crafty, those people over at The Bachelor. I hope they air it.”

We wouldn't bet on it.

Millions upon millions of fans may be disappointed with the final choice for love on the current season of The Bachelor, but Jake Pavelka himself is not one of them.

"I know for a fact Jake is happy with his decision," host-pimp Chris Harrison says.

"I will steal a line from Jake. He has said, 'I will shock people, I will disappoint people,' but he did what he feels was right, and I support him. Good for him."

Rumors have long speculated that the winner this season will be Vienna Girardi.

If the Bachelor spoilers we've posted turn out to be true, many viewers will indeed be very let down. Vienna is not exactly what you would call a fan favorite.

Final Four Ladies

One of these girls will get the final rose. You may not like it.

"I will say I was surprised that he kept her around," Chris admits. "But I have to give the guy credit to have the balls to go against what everybody's saying."

THG NOTE: How would he know what "people" are saying about a reality show he's starring on? Does Chris just mean the other girls bad-mouthing Vienna?

Chris also says V is not as evil as she appears. "I think [Vienna Girardi] has a bit of a bad rep ... I think she was put behind the 8 ball in the beginning."

Wonder who could be responsible for that... not ABC's deliberate story editing.

"When you are one on the front-runners early on, there is a target put on your back. So, there is competitiveness, there is jealousy from the other girls."

Of course, I don't think Vienna went out of her way to fix that problem."

No. And it sounds like Jake is not going to take her ex-husband's advice and run for it while he still can. Would you be disappointed if Vienna were to win?

Who do you think should get the final rose from Jake Pavelka?

Will Ali Fedotowsky return to The Bachelor after her dramatic, not-at-all-staged exit on Monday's "shocking" episode? All signs obviously point to a contrived yes.

Ali, a 25-year-old advertising account manager with Facebook in San Francisco, Ca., abruptly left at the end of this week's Bachelor episode to return to her position.

After Fedotowsky's boss gave her an ultimatum - quit the show or lose your job - Bachelor star Jake Pavelka wouldn't "guarantee" he'd give her the final rose.

So Ali up and left ... but for how long?!?

"We haven't seen or heard the last from Ali," host / pimp Chris Harrison says. "I think everyone saw that it was unresolved when she left. You could tell that they both definitely were falling in love with each other, if not already."

"Tey're definitely not done talking about this with each other."

Ali Fedotowsky and Jake Pavelka

SO SAD: Chris says Jake "has strong feelings" for Ali Fedotowsky.

"Jake said it was tough to watch her leave again last night," Harrison recalled. "I asked if he considered promising Ali that she was the one so she would stay, and Jake said, 'Well, she wasn't the one. She was one of the front runners.'"

"He said she needed to decide on her own and he didn't want to be desperate and beg, but he really didn't want her to go," and Ali certainly struggled with the choice.

"She loves her job and we tried to make it work, but in the end her boss said you've got to choose," he says. "Do you want to do the show or do you want your job?"

He adds that fans shouldn't give her a hard time: "You want to be the romantic, but you can't fault her for loving her career." Especially not in this economy, right?

That leaves Vienna Girardi, Tenley Molzahn and Gia Allemand fighting for Jake's final rose ... unless Ali makes a surprise return, as hinted in next week's preview.

Who should Jake Pavelka choose on The Bachelor?

by Free Britney at . Comments

Ali Fedotowsky hates Vienna Girardi so hard on The Bachelor. Chris Harrison, the show's venerable host-pimp, says that attitude may come back to bite her.

On this week's episode, the Ali vs. Vienna war raged on. Ali in particular just can't deal. But Chris warns that the two ladies need to get over their bickering.

Otherwise, Jake Pavelka may just shun them both!

"Vienna and Ali are two of Jake's favorites," Harrison said. "The funny thing is, those two are beating each other up so bad, Tenley is just skating through."

"[Tenley Molzahn] is so sweet and maybe she doesn't outwardly show it, but I think she realizes, 'Hey, you guys just keep on fighting amongst yourselves!'"

Ali Fedotowsky and Vienna Girardi look so nice here, but ...

Ali Fedotowsky, Harrison adds, "has to forget about Vienna and worry about herself." He says she needs to realize, "'Enough with the bickering, cattiness."

"If I'm going to do this, I need to be with Jake. If Jake likes [Vienna], then so be it. I can't judge why she's here, and I just need to take care of myself.'"

Adds Harrison, "The quicker she realizes that, the better she will be."

Ali and Vienna Girardi "think that they're so different, but they aren't," Harrison adds. "I mean, their personalities, on the surface, appear to be different."

"But they are really caring, loving people. They think, if Jake likes Vienna or if Jake likes Ali, he can't possibly like me, but in actuality they don't realize how similar they are because obviously they don't get to see how they are on a date."

Who should Jake pick among his final four?

The Bachelor host-pimp Chris Harrison is in prime damage control mode, trying to quell rumors that the show manufactured Rozlyn Papa's dismissal Monday.

Papa has denied accusations that she entered into an "inappropriate relationship" with a Bachelor staffer, blasting ABC for concocting that ploy for ratings.

Now it's Harrison's turn to point fingers, telling People that Rozlyn Papa "had a physical relationship with a producer on our show. There is no gray area here."

"You cannot do that. Other girls on the show saw it. The producer confessed more than once [and] to more than one person. I cannot make it any clearer.”

"We would never go to the lengths we did, firing somebody and kicking someone off our show if we thought maybe something might be happening,” he adds.

In several interviews since her dismissal from the show, Rozlyn admitted she is "close" to the producer in question, but says no sex or even kissing ever took place.

Regarding Bachelor spoilers that the crew member scandal was concocted to oust Rozlyn Papa because she wouldn’t "hide" her son from Jake Pavelka, Chris says:

“We were five days in to taping. We weren’t worried about her telling Jake she had a son because she had plenty of time because she was one of the front-runners."

"The fact that she is a mom, not a mom, whatever, had nothing to do with the fact that she had a relationship with one of our producers and had to be kicked off.”

Sure thing. If that's the case, Chris, then riddle us this:

  • Why wasn't Rozlyn's affair shown if the other girls witnessed it?
  • Why was the girl's voice from the promo, insisting "she's having a sexual affair with someone in the house,” never played on the actual episode?
  • Why did you ambiguously accuse Rozlyn of an "inappropriate relationship" on the show, rather than explaining in any detail what she supposedly did?
  • Why were there so many edits/voiceovers/camera angle changes during your little chat with Rozlyn? That doesn't look manipulated at all.
  • Why did Jake not even want to talk to Rozlyn and hear her side?

Something to think about. Here's a clip of the drama ...

As usual, The Hollywood Gossip sat through The Bachelor last night and our staff now brings you its official recap, with points awarded and docked as we see fit.

In the season's second episode, as predicted, a "shocking" cheating scandal led to the dismissal of Rozlyn Papa. Here's THG's take on that and so much more ...

Jake claims the InStyle photographer is a friend and set up this date to make it special. We're sure ABC had nothing to do with the cross-promotion. Minus 2.

Five girls on the group date get down and dirty. Christina just gets drunk. Plus 2.

Rozlyn Papa on Jake Pavelka: "He's really cute. I kinda wanna bite him." Plus 3, then another Plus 5 for the censored crotch shot during the InStyle shoot.

Jake says he's literally going to take Ali to Cloud 9. Where's that, exactly? Minus 4.

Jake and Vienna

The chemistry between Jake and Vienna is palpable ... not.

Jake on the Chicago concert with Ali: "I have never had a moment like that with somebody." Except his private Martina McBride concert with Jillian. Plus 6.

ABC actually plays "On the Wings of Love" as Jake flies. Minus 1,000.

Elizabeth refuses to let Jake kiss her as she tries to play hard to get, then reads a love poem she wrote to Jake. We got nothin'. It's that amazing. Plus 13.

Vienna Girardi confesses she eloped at 18. Tenley is also divorced. These are Jake's final two, per The Bachelor spoilers we've read. Even. We're just saying.

Obligatory Minus 14 to every woman in the house. STOP SCREAMING!

Man, Michelle is still insane. Ashley is her crazy understudy. Plus 20.

Jake and Rozlyn

Last week, Rozlyn got a rose. This week, a ticket home!

Finally, the Rozlyn scandal: Chris Harrison's careful word choice and the lightning-fast editing of camera angles don't make it seem like this is faked at all. Minus 33.

Roz says little about the sex-with-staffer allegation. Probably because it was edited out. Plus 17 for at least calling The Bachelor out on what she calls a big lie now.

Why would the other girls care? Their rival is gone! Were they told lies about Rozlyn that made it seem worse? Minus 9 for the lack of sense and time spent on this.

TOTAL: -996. SEASON: -984. Roses: Ali, Elizabeth, Vienna, Gia, Tenley, Ella, Valishia, Corrie, Jessie, Ashleigh, Michelle, Kathryn. Out: Christina, Ashley, Rozlyn.

Things our wives said:

  • [exposing cleavage, mocking girls in the hot tub] "OMG eee hee eee!!"
  • "I honestly think that I would kill myself if I was on this show."
  • "I just wanna jam my finger down my throat when Jake talks."
  • "Who writes Chris' lines?"
  • "Zzzzzz."

Who do you believe regarding the Rozlyn scandal?

Jake Pavelka is the "most serious" star The Bachelor has ever had in its 14 seasons, according to the show's venerable host-pimp, Chris Harrison.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chris talked about the new season kicking off Monday. He said that Jake was totally blown away the first night.

"[Jake] looked at me the first night and said 'my wife is in this room," Chris recalled, noting that Jake Pavelka was "determined" to find someone.

As opposed to most people who star on The Bachelor.

Chris says this season, unlike past seasons, will feature craziness on an emotional and psychological level, rather than a "let's get naked" level.

Zzz. Although the contestant who cheats on Jake with a crew member sounds like it could provide some traditional, not-at-all-staged drama.

Chris Harrison Interview

Chris Harrison calls The Bachelor an "amazing study in human behavior."

Of his role as the show's MC, his job is to keep the peace, as well as to say "ladies ... the final rose tonight." But Harrison says it runs deeper than that.

"I think I’m exponentially better qualified than Dr. Phil will ever be. And I’m about half as full of $h!t as he is. I could easily host a relationship show."

We would totally watch, who are we kidding? He's already a confidant for strangers: “Because people see me on this show, they tell me things,” he says.

“I’ll be at a bar, and people just open up to me. I know what people’s husbands like in sex, the size of their ... They just tell me anything and everything."
