As previously reported, Chris Brown has been picked up by U.S. marshals for his cross-country journey to stand trial for assault charges in Washington, D.C.

The 24-year-old star is on his way from jail in L.A. to a federal holding facility in San Bernardino, Calif., to begin his long trip to our nation's capital.

Later, escorted by U.S. Marshals and appropriately restrained, he will get on a plane to D.C. Only there will be layovers along the way. A LOT of them.

According to TMZ, there are so many stops en route (think Oklahoma and other out of the way places) to pick up other prisoners, it'll take days.

He will be there by Monday, however, when his lawyer, Mark Geragos, will try to get the assault charges dismissed against Chris, and he stands a chance.

The evidence is flimsy as is, and Geragos believes prosecutors inappropriately used the grand jury to gain an unfair advantage in the criminal case.

Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran are still together ... back together ... who knows, but definitely tight, based on this video she put online last night.

The incarcerated star used Karrueche to pass along a message to fans from solitary confinement, while professing his love to her for all the world to hear.

Brown, still behind bars until a court hearing April 17, when he may be transferred to trial in D.C. by the U.S. Marshals, dialed up Tran from jail last night.

She put the video of Chris' 15-second message on Instagram.

After thanking his fans and plugging some new project (we couldn't hear exactly what he said), Brown adds, "Most importantly … Kae, Karrueche, I love you."

That sound you hear is #TEAMBREEZY swooning. Maybe.

Tran reportedly things off with the singer for hollering at random hoes while he was in rehab, but clearly that didn't take, because, well, here we are.

Much like Rihanna, Kae can't seem to quit this guy ...

When (if) Chris Brown stands trial in Washington, D.C. for assault in mid-April, he will do so as a prisoner accompanied by U.S. Marshals, TMZ is reporting.

T H U G

Brown is in jail in L.A. for violating his probation. His probation for assaulting Rihanna was revoked after he was charged with assaulting some guy in D.C.

He originally stayed out of jail by seeking anger management treatment, but once he was kicked out of rehab for the second time, off to jail he went.

His trial begins April 17, unless he's able to buy his way out of jail by convincing the accuser to drop the case. If convicted, he faces YEARS in prison.

Assuming that doesn't happen, the judge in the D.C. assault case has signed an order commanding the L.A. County Jail to release Chris to the U.S. Marshals.

The judge who remanded him into custody in the Rihanna case ordered Chris to stay behind bars until the D.C. trial, but never said how he would get there.

Chris Brown is being harassed in jail, according to reports, as fellow inmates locked up with him apparently don't take kindly to woman beaters.

Insiders say the 24-year-old R&B star has been yelled at and called names like ”b!tch,” specifically because he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Brown is still in jail in Los Angeles for violating his probation, which requires him to obey all laws following his guilty plea to the assault on Rihanna.

After his arrest for assault in D.C. last year, a judge revoked his probation, but allowed him to go to rehab instead of jail while that case is pending.

Now that he's been kicked out of rehab (twice!), however, he's locked up until the case goes to trial or he can pay off the accuser and get it dropped.

In any case, he's behind bars now, feeling like a caged animal and getting badgered by fellow inmates think he has yet to pay the price for his actions.

“One inmate said in passing ‘you a b!tch for hitting Rihanna,’” a source dished, noting that Chris gets “extremely upset” when he hears such sentiments.

Chris Brown’s new music video for "Loyal" was released today, even with the singer currently in solitary confinement and unable to watch it ... bummer man.

The video, featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga with a cameo from Usher, is all about ... loyalty. It shows Breezy singing the refrain, "These hoes ain’t loyal."

“I don’t f--k with broke b!tches,” he adds, presumably because them hoes be hangin' around just lookin' to get wit him for his money. Or so we're assuming.

There’s also a baby tiger on a leash in the clip for some reason.

Whether these hoes be “Loyal” or not, his loyal fans will be happy to know that the track will be on Brown's album X, which is finally set to be released in May.

He has said that X will be his last album, but we doubt this.

Unless he's sent away to prison for years (which actually isn't out of the realm of possibility), Brown is likely to make more music, if only to pay legal bills.

Chris Brown really wishes he wasn't in jail.

After getting the rehab boot for the second time in a few months, the singer was sentenced a few days ago to a month in the slammer.

With Brown alone for 23 hours a a day in solitary confinement, a source tells TMZ that the singer can't stand life behind bars.

Brown feels like "a caged animal," the insider says, adding that the star refers to it as “the worst experience of my life."

In a related note, Rihanna thinks getting her face beaten and bloodied by Brown was the worst experience of her life.

Is Chris Brown on the verge of buying himself out of jail? Indirectly, it appears this is less than 72 hours away from happening. How, you may ask?

Here's the deal, with obligatory, confusing background information:

  • He's on probation for beating the crap out of Rihanna back in 2009.
  • His probation requires him to obey laws. Clearly an issue for him.
  • His probation was revoked with his 2013 arrest for assault in D.C.
  • He could've been jailed, but a judge allowed him to go to rehab.
  • He got kicked out of rehab, TWICE, and is thus in jail now.
  • If convicted in the D.C. case, he could go to PRISON.

With an April 18 trial looming in the D.C. case, it sure seemed like he was stuck in solitary confinement until then ... unless that case were to go away.

Enter legal wizard Mark Geragos, who has contacted the lawyer for the man who claims Chris assaulted him in D.C. and broke his nose in the process.

He's offering a LARGE sum of money to drop the charges.

Rumors that Karrueche Tran dumped Chris Brown earlier this year were accurate. The alleged reason? A little different than previously reported.

It wasn't because Rihanna paid him a secret visit in rehab, or because Chris banged in rehab employee ... although both of those things did occur.

Karrueche pulled the plug on their years-long, on-again, off-again relationship because he refused to stop texting his legion of side piece playthings.

Tran's break-up preceded Chris' sexual tryst with a female inside rehab, reports indicate. Kae ended things after she visited Chris in rehab the month before.

During that visit to rehab, where he was being treated for anger management, Tran saw Chris' phone was FILLED to the gills with dirty texts from random girls.

Good times.

For a girl who stood by her man through a LOT, it was the last straw, and she let him know it. Bet he's thinking about this (among other things) in solitary.

Chris Brown is not just cooling his heels in jail after being kicked out of rehab, he's in solitary confinement 23 hours a day and cut off from the general population.

Brown is allowed to work out in his cell and read library books, and is allowed one shower every two days. Beyond that, there's not a lot going on for him.

Chris Brown Smoking Weed
Chris Brown smoking weed - 3 joints at the same time no less. What a class act as always.

Brown was hauled off to jail after getting thrown out of a rehab facility in Malibu - the second rehab center to show him the door since his October arrest.

An assault charge in D.C. got his probation (for beating Rihanna senseless) revoked, but he'd been allowed to go to rehab instead of jail while awaiting trial.

Until he got kicked out for touching women, refusing a drug test and making a mockery of the process, that is. Now he'll stay locked up until April 23.

Brown's rehab "treatment" was for his obvious anger issues, which may or may not stem from PTSD and bipolar disorder. Regardless, he can't stay out of trouble.

Particularly disturbed by Chris' quote that he is good at using guns and knives, the judge denied his request to return to rehab or be released on house arrest.

Chris Brown will stay in jail until at least April 17, when his D.C. assault case goes to trial, after a judge shut down his bid to win release yesterday.

The singer was kicked out of rehab and arrested Friday; the judge had ordered Brown to stay in rehab while the assault case played out in court.

At issue is whether or not he violated his probation in the Rihanna case; Brown's probation requires him to obey all laws and had been revoked.

The judge allowed him to stay in anger management treatment rather than behind bars, however ... until the facility kicked him out. Then off to jail he went.

Yesterday, Brown and his attorney Mark Geragos tried to lobby for his release to another facility or house arrest, but Hizzoner was not having it. At all.

Citing Chris' "inability to stay out of trouble," and specifically Chris claiming "I am good at using guns and knives" in rehab, he ordered him jailed indefinitely.
