Chris Brown has countersued a man who has accused the R&B star and his entourage of attacking him at a recording studio earlier this year.

The singer filed an assault and battery lawsuit against Sha'keir Duarte, who claimed in an earlier suit that he was injured when a fight involving Brown.

The melee erupted between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean's entourages back in January outside a West Hollywood studio. No charges were filed.

Duarte's lawsuit filed in August accused Brown of being the aggressor in the fight, during which a gay slur was allegedly hurled at the bisexual Ocean.

Brown's countersuit, however, claims Duarte instigated the brouhaha by pushing, kicking and punching the R&B singer and threatening to kill him.

Despite taking place just blocks from the White House, Chris Brown's latest arrest was not captured on video, which likely means good things for the singer.

Not a single camera recorded the altercation, and in this case it could be game-changing because of some of the witness accounts that are already disputed.

The 24-year-old star has been charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly punching some guy in the face outside the W Hotel in D.C. a week ago.

There are two cameras on an overhang at the hotel, but neither was trained on the fight, which Chris' camp is claiming he never threw a punch in.

What's more, although there are government buildings in the immediate area, law enforcement sources say no surveillance camera saw the fight.

He may be motivated as much by staying out of prison as he is by actually getting better, but Chris Brown at least admits he has major issues with anger.

The star and his attorney, Mark Geragos, went to the L.A. County Dept. of Probation Friday afternoon and had an hour-long talk with his new probation officer.

During that conversation, Chris Brown:

  • Did not talk about being arrested for assault in D.C. last Sunday.
  • Did talk a lot about his current stint inside a Malibu rehab facility.

There, Brown's treatment includes a heavy dose of psychological counseling, and sources say he could stay in the facility for as long as three months.

If Chris Brown hoped that his stint in rehab for anger management would curry favor with those overseeing the Rihanna probation case, we have two words for him:

McKayla Maroney.

Sources say probation officials are not impressed and see right through what the star is trying to do by checking into rehab following his arrest for assault.

L.A. County Probation Department insiders feel that Brown's violent outbursts have become a disgrace and that the rehab ploy is "too little, too late."

The department is aggressively investigating Sunday's incident in D.C., where Chris Brown was arrested for what is now a misdemeanor charge.

Justin Bieber has gone out of his way to prove he has awful taste in friends is on Team Breezy.

The singer - who has made no secret of his affection for Chris Brown (he's super dope, people!) - found an unexpected way to show support for his embattled (?!?!?) fellow artist last night:

Bieber spray-painted the message "FREE BREEZY" on a wall in Bogota, Colombia.

On Team Breezy

This, of course, is a reference to Chris Brown's recent arrest on assault charges.

Chris Brown's legal prospects are looking up if a new report is to be believed. Allegedly, the victim was overheard saying that Brown did not land a punch.

According to court documents, a witness to the fight Sunday morning told investigators that he heard the alleged victim tell a cop Brown NEVER HIT HIM.

The cop later denied speaking with the witness in question, but it gets stranger still, due to a Secret Service agent that made contact with D.C. police.

The agent told them he happened to be around when the victim told the officer that Chris never struck him. The agent says he absolutely heard the comment.

This is doubly helpful for Chris Brown, because if a Secret Service agent is willing to go out of his way to make that known, it's huge for his side of the story.

Chris Brown will spend up to three months in treatment for his anger issues as he looks to get a handle on his temper, according to a new report.

There has been no firm decision on a precise duration of time Brown will stay in rehab (he's at a Malibu, Calif., location) but three months is a good bet.

Everyone in Brown's camp, including Chris, is open to that length of time.

Sounds like it's serious, too, even if it is largely a play to avoid prison.

"The rehab facility has been told to take him [Brown] apart and put him back together," a source close to the constantly embattled singer tells TMZ.

Chris Brown checked into rehab last night, specifically to seek treatment for his anger problem, which manifested itself Sunday morning when he was arrested.

Through it all, Karrueche Tran is standing by her man. She posted a sweet photo of herself kissing Breezy before he checked into rehab Tuesday night.

With Chris seeking treatment for anger management in the wake of his assault charge, Karrueche's making it known that she has his back, come what may.

Tran posted the photo below "Always & Forever ❤."

No word how long her R&B singer beau will be at the facility, but it comes on the heels of not only his D.C. arrest, but a rumored split with Karrueche.

He's accused of punching 20-year-old Parker Isaac Adams and breaking his nose after the fan tried to photobomb Brown and two women at D.C.'s W Hotel.

Chris Brown has checked into a rehab facility to seek treatment for anger management issues in the wake of his arrest last weekend, according to reports.

Perhaps Breezy heeded Mike Tyson's advice?

Chris Brown: Unity!

Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, dropped him off at an L.A. treatment center, presumably to deal with his rage issues - and stave off a prison sentence.

His mom, Joyce Hawkins, and on-off girlfriend Karrueche Tran reportedly came to see him off as well, while his publicist confirmed that he's in treatment.

"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," said a statement Tuesday night from his rep. There is no indication of substance abuse issues. Only rage.

"His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and career from a healthier vantage point."

Maybe it's just us, but when Mike Tyson of all people is taking note of your violent tendencies and voicing concern, it may be time to rethink your life.

Such is the case for Chris Brown, who the former boxing champ believes is too violent and headed down a dangerous path where he will pay the price.

Tyson was a guest on the 95.5 PLJ Morning Show this morning when he was asked about Chris Brown, who was arrested for assault in D.C.

Iron Mike, who's battled anger issues in the past himself, weighed in on Chris. "I like and admire that little guy," Tyson said. "I'm just worried about him."

  1. Who admires Chris Brown?
  2. Great use of the word "little."
  3. Mike did prison time for rape.

Regarding that last point, Tyson says he knows from experience that if Chris doesn't learn to control his rage, fans will turn on him. As will the law.
