Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to felony assault (and given five years' of probation as a result) and apologized to Rihanna personally (multiple times, says he).

He's even professed regret in a YouTube video for the world to see.

But the disgraced R&B star still had something to say, because he sat down with Larry King on Wednesday at CNN's Hollywood headquarters for his first interview since his arrest for beating Rihanna senseless on the eve of the Grammys.

Brown's mother Joyce Hawkins was also there, as well as attorney Mark Geragos. A source says Brown's mom got very emotional and cried during the interview.

Chris Brown's interview will air Wednesday, September 2.

According to reports, the no-holds-barred chat featured Brown answering each and every question put to him. We don't know yet what exactly was asked.

One can assume, though, that the star's probation report, which indicated he got rough with Rihanna twice before the now-infamous assault, was a topic.

Brown was formally sentenced yesterday this week to five years' probation, 52 weeks of domestic-violence counseling and 180 days of community labor.

He will complete that in his home state of Virginia.

Chris Brown went from courthouse to club Tuesday, dropping by a popular L.A. lounge just a few hours after being sentenced to probation and community labor.

Hey, might as well blow off some steam after a felony sentence.

The 20-year-old R&B star enjoyed a night out with a group of friends and bodyguards at Guys & Dolls, where he stood up on a booth and got the crowd excited as he danced along to Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana," a source reported.

"He didn't seem to care at all that everyone was watching him," says the source.

"He was in a totally good mood, just hanging out with his buddies. Then all of a sudden he decided to put on a little show. Everyone went wild."

A Man on Probation

Chris Brown is enjoying himself post-felony assault sentencing.

Earlier that day, a solemn Chris Brown stood in a Los Angeles courtroom as a judge sentenced him to six months of community labor in Virginia (removing graffiti and washing cars), five years probation and a year of domestic violence classes.

He was also ordered not to have any communication with Rihanna until 2014 - including by phone or through a third party. The judge was serious about this.

Given the graphic assault details that were just released, we see why.

Rihanna also went dancing after the hearing - just not with Chris.

Perhaps this is why the judge was so stern about him steering clear of Rihanna.

Chris Brown was involved in incidents "related to domestic violence" twice before he was busted this year, according to a probation officer's report filed Tuesday for the singer's sentencing and obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

The first offense cited occurred in Europe about three months before his arrest. Per the report, Chris Brown and Rihanna were engaged in a "verbal dispute" when she slapped him and he responded by shoving the star into a wall.

Then, in January, Brown and Rihanna were vacationing in Barbados and got into an argument while riding around in a borrowed Range Rover.

Brown got out of the vehicle and, enraged, smashed the driver and passenger-side windows. The incident went unreported at the time.

Chris Brown and lawyer Mark Geragos arrive at court.

Rihanna had agreed to cooperate with prosecutors and was willing to testify against Chris Brown over the assault that left her battered in February, but he cut a plea deal before his preliminary hearing that precluded a trial.

The fallen R&B star was formally sentenced Tuesday to five years' probation, 180 days of hard community labor and 52 weeks of domestic-violence counseling.

Despite objections from both camps, the judge extended a strict stay-away order that prohibits Brown from coming within 100 yards of Rihanna ... until 2014.

While there has been much debate over what happened that night between Chris and Rihanna, the official police report has never been released ... until now.

That Brown has a history of violence is not nearly as shocking as what happened in February. Follow the jump to read the details of what Rihanna told cops ...

Chris Brown was formally sentenced in Los Angeles today after accepting a plea deal to felony assault for beating the crap out of Rihanna in February.

His lawyer, Mark Geragos, named the community service program in Virginia in which Brown will be enrolling in a 52-week domestic violence program.

Brown was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community labor. Here are the terms of Chris' probation, as stipulated by the judge:

  • He is subject to search and seizure 24/7 for the next 60 months years. He can't own any dangerous weapon, including guns or knives. He must surrender any firearms in his possession within 24 hours.
  • Brown must personally come to court every three months during probation. The first appearance will be November 19.
  • Chris must report by phone every 72 hours as requested.
  • He must provide DNA samples as requested by authorities.
  • Chris must perform 180 days of community labor.
  • He must get approval before leaving the U.S.
  • Brown is ordered not to "harass, assault, threaten or molest" Rihanna. He can't have any contact, even on the phone or through a third person.

Chris Brown will not do time, but his probation terms are no joke.

Regarding the last item, Judge Patricia Schnegg said during the sentencing, "I am not immune to the chatter on the airwaves" - almost certainly a reference to reports that Brown and Rihanna are still talking or have even hooked up.

The judge says she means business and will consider it a probation violation and enforce the appropriate consequences if he does not abide by that order.

Do you think Chris Brown's sentence is fair?

He was on the bubble for awhile (boo), but Wrigley has officially chewed out Chris Brown (boo!) and terminated his endorsement deal following his assault conviction.

Brown had been a spokesman for Doublemint gum and his hit song "Forever" was part of Wrigley's advertising campaign. But now they officially spit him out (BOOO!).

Easy, Breezy

Following the singer's February arrest on suspicion of attacking Rihanna on the eve of the Grammy Awards, Wrigley said it was "concerned" but withheld judgment.

Maintaining that Brown, 20, deserved due legal process, Wrigley said at the time it was suspending its commercial featuring Brown, but declined to take any action.

But with Brown pleading guilty in June to punching Rihanna until she was bloodied and bruised, Wrigley said on Thursday it had "ended" its deal with the singer.

NOT DOUBLE HIS PLEASURE: Wrigley's wants no more of Chris Brown.

Brown agreed in his plea bargain to serve five years probation and perform 180 days of community service (serious, physical labor) in his home state of Virginia.

A charge of criminal threats was thus dropped and he will not go to jail.

Wrigley's disclosure came a day after a judge delayed sentencing at a hearing for Brown to make sure his punishment included hard labor such as road cleanup.

This means more likely to hear "Forever" as a wedding intro song than on TV, and that while Chris dodged the jail bullet, his wallet may take a hit going forward.

Chris Brown was set to be sentenced after formally pleading guilty to felony assault last month, but that has now been delayed until August 27 at 2 p.m.

As we reported in late June, Brown accepted a plea deal in which he entered a plea of guilty to a brutal February assault that left Rihanna badly beaten.

He will be given community service and probation.

This is not to say that the R&B singer got away with this with a mere slap on the wrist by any means, which brings us to the delay in his sentencing.

The reason for the delay is the judge said she wants Brown to perform hard labor for his community service. The plan for the community service in his native Virginia was not fully in place, so the judge wants to see a full schedule first.

Sentenced

The judge wants to know what Brown will be doing for his community service - which he will do for eight hours a day, for a period of several months - saying 90 percent of the service is accounted for but 10 percent needs to be locked down.

Rihanna's lawyer, Donald Etra, says that Brown has not violated the stay away order against him and says Rihanna is open to lifting the restraining order.

The two have been rumored to be back together ever since his sentencing, despite a court order that he stay 50 yards away from his assault victim.

Amid repeated reports that she and Chris Brown are sneaking around together, Rihanna says there is no need to keep her ex half a football field away.

Brown, who will be sentenced today after pleading guilty to assauling the "Umbrella" singer in February, is under court order not to communicate with her at all.

Moreover, he is not to come within 50 yards of her – and 10 yards if they're both at the same event. Rumors suggest the two have hooked up in NYC recently.

"If asked, we will tell the court that all that's necessary is a level-one order: That Brown not annoy, molest or harass her," Rihanna's lawyer Donald Etra said.

"No stay-away order was ever requested by Rihanna."

Could this legally clear the way for the reconciliation some believe has already begun in secret? It will be up to judge Patricia Schnegg to decide that issue.

At the last hearing, Schnegg said she'd consider Rihanna's request for a less-restrictive order against Chris Brown, which could allow the pair to be together.

Etra wouldn't comment on whether the singers are still romantically involved. Rihanna will not be attending the hearing. Brown is required to be there.

After pleading guilty to felony assault, Brown is expected to be sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community labor to be served in Virginia. He will also complete a year of domestic violence classes, and pay fines.

In exchange for the plea, he will avoid serving any time behind bars, and a second felony charge of making criminal threats is expected to be dropped.

Last month, Brown publicly apologized for the incident for the first time, saying, "I have told Rihanna countless times, and I am telling you today, that I am truly sorry and that I wasn't able to handle the situation differently and better."

Is Chris Brown's sentence fair?

These Rihanna-Chris-Brown rumors just won’t go away.

A UK celeb news magazine claims this afternoon that rather than what was described as a mere coincidence - when the two superstars both stayed at New York’s Trump International Hotel a few weeks back - they actually hooked up in the Big Apple.

Star reports that a hotel source saw them “canoodling” in her room (their word, not ours) and that they used decoy cars to "put off" the media in the process.

The magazine also claims exclusive quotes from Rihanna’s mom Monica Fenty, who is pretty upset that her daughter is supposedly back in Chris Brown’s arms.

“I’m devastated, but what can I do? Rihanna is her own woman with her own mind. Independent. Chris has a bizarre power over her," Fenty said (supposedly).

"She still loves him and he knows it. In her eyes he’s a god. Even after all this time, after what he did, it’s not diminished, no way,” she added (supposedly).

What he did, of course, was beat the $h!t out of her. But if you're a god, then you can pretty much do whatever you want and receive no jail time. Right?

Chris, who filled in for Drake at a Virginia Beach concert over the weekend, publicly apologized for the first time last month. The assault happened in February.

Rihanna has been seen out and about frequently, and has been linked to Drake (ironically). But rumors of her reconciliation with Chris have been heating up.

The conditions of Chris Brown’s plea bargain prevent him from coming within 50 yards of the singer, but does that even apply if both of them want to hit it?

Should Rihanna and Chris Brown get back together?

First Drake took over for Chris Brown. Hooking up with Rihanna, that is.

Now Chris Brown is filling in for Drake. Rapping with Lil Wayne, that is.

After Drake went down with a knee injury a few days ago, Lil Wayne asked us to pray for the upstart Canadian rapper. He also needed somebody to pinch-hit and perform Drake's part at a show in Virginia Beach the next night, though.

The man who loves ramming them hos naturally asked Chris Brown.

Drake (real name Aubrey Graham) was widely rumored to be Rihanna's first rebound guy after Chris beat the living crap out of her, even though he claimed they were just "good friends." He has a hit single out right now with "Best I Ever Had."

It was Brown's first live performance since copping a plea in his assault case, but he won't be Drake's full time-replacement on tour - this was a one-shot deal.

Either Chris Brown and Rihanna have been sneaking around and trying to keep things on the down low, or New York City is a much smaller place than we thought.

A day after staying at the same hotel, supposedly without knowledge of the other's presence, Rihanna went out to dinner at Cipriani in the Big Apple on Tuesday.

Lingering on the street by Cipriani's in his SUV, looking nervous and talking to someone on his phone? You guessed it. Chris Brown. Homeboy was lurking outside.

Here are the hotties last night:

Having pleaded guilty to felony assault after pummeling her face to a pulp, Chris Brown's probation stipulates that he not get within 50 yards of his ex.

That's 150 feet, for those scoring at home.

This clearly violates that clause, but were they even aware of it? Did they meet up on purpose? For now, at least, these mysteries remain unanswered.

Not unlike the question of what the hell Rihanna was wearing.
