Chris Brown was apparently on hand at Rihanna's birthday party to see her receive a cake shaped like a topless likeness of herself riding a giant spliff.

Now they're rumored to be collaborating on a remix of her song "Birthday Cake."

Seriously. New reports have been flying that Chris Brown, of all people, is the mystery collaborator on a soon-to-drop remix of Rihanna's quick-hit song.

Surprising, and probably disappointing for some of her fans, but not as absurd a concept as it once seemed, given that they've grown close again.

"They can say whatever, Ima do whatever, No pain is forever," Rihanna tweeted Friday morning, quoting her hit song "Hard." "YUP! YOU KNOW THIS."

Cryptic. Or just catchy. That song was good.

Neither side is commenting about the rumored collaboration, but a full-length version of Rihanna's minute-long track (above) has long been in the works.

"It's gonna be crazy," producing team Da Internz told MTV News last week regarding the tune. "And the feature on there is gonna shock the world."

Could that mean what we think it means?

Brown's debut behind the camera was co-directed with Godfrey Tabarez.

“Music is FREEDOM! The video is out!!!!” Chris wrote on his Twitter, luckily without any f-bombs for the haters. “Love you team breezy!!! #turnupthemusic.”

Chris Brown was so paranoid about keeping his recent attendance at Rihanna's birthday party a secret, he tried to legally ensure it, according to reports.

TMZ says Breezy refused to enter the private party Monday at the famous Hearst Mansion in Beverly Hills until everyone signed an non-disclosure pact.

Chris' rep says confidentiality agreements were distributed only to workers at the party and anyone caught videotaping/snapping Chris Brown photos.

Chris Brown Sings

Although they didn't get EVERYONE to sign, Chris eventually walked in and spent a huge chunk of the night nuzzling up against former GF Rihanna.

According to sources, the two were quite cozy, sitting next to each other, talking, holding hands ... all perfectly legal with the restraining order lifted.

As for the rest of the party, it was jam-packed with celebs including Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, and Chris Martin (no Gwyneth Paltrow though, sadly).

Rihanna's birthday cake, incidentally? What looks to be giant joint, with a small Rihanna made out of icing, riding that thang like a horse. In a thong. Topless.

Miley Cyrus would be so proud ...

We're not kidding. This report may be false, but according to Us Weekly, Chris Brown used that vile line on a girl he was attempting to pick up recently.

The alleged quote: ""Can I get your number? I promise I won't beat you!"

Brown's rep said: "I'd be surprised if Chris said something that stupid."

We would have to agree. If he did say that, it would defy comprehension ... even more than things Chris normally does like tell haters to f--k off on Twitter.

Chris Brown Planking

Brown, who pleaded guilty in 2009 to felony assault for hitting then-girlfriend Rihanna, reportedly used the line on an attractive brunette on February 10.

The setting was the Lasio Professional Hair Care suite Grammy gift lounge.

After he supposedly said it, a witness says, "He and his friends laughed about it, then one yelled, 'That's his new line!' Ugh! I wanted to throw up!"

It's unclear if the brunette accepted Chris' request.

We honestly don't believe this. Chris has big-time rage issues, and could do a lot better at taking responsibility, showing remorse and simply shutting up.

He seems to fly off the handle only when provoked, however, and such a brazen remark seems a tad uncharacteristic, even if Chris is far from perfect.

We can see him fuming at "haters," which is what seems to set him off every now and then, but not joking about beating girls to their faces.

Come on, Us. Chris has work to do, but spreading rumors like this is just as bad as his recent tirade. Legitimate criticism is one thing; slander another.

Apparently Rihanna isn't one of Chris Brown's haters.

The pop star, who turns 24 on February 20, threw a small early birthday party for herself Monday in L.A., celebrating at a private home a day after the Grammys.

The party, which was Caribbean themed, brought out 100 of RiRi's closest friends (for a "small" party) including Katy Perry, Bruno Mars ... and Chris Brown?

Oh yes. Sources at the bash tell Celebuzz that Chris Brown was indeed in attendance and that the two singers definitely appeared friendly at the shindig.

Guests at the soiree were said to be eating cake and drinking Red Bull well into the night and toasted the superstar with Armand de Brignac Brut Gold Champagne.

The report of Chris Brown's attendance - the latest in a series of stories about the two stars hanging out together of late - is sure to please his many loyal supporters.

After all, if they've buried the hatchet three years after Brown's attack on Rihanna, why shouldn't everyone else do the same? He doesn't help the cause, of course.

By lashing out at his critics in a profane Twitter rant - which even his mom is pissed at him about - he merely adds fuel to the fire and takes the focus off his music.

Will he ever keep his temper under control and take the high road? Should he have to? And what do you all think of Rihanna and Chris' friendship? Sound off below.

Chris Brown's mother, Joyce Hawkins, is reportedly livid about his post-Grammy Twitter rampage in which he told his haters to f--k off ... among other things.

The singer lashed out at critics who slammed the Grammys for honoring him during Sunday's awards show, and had bitter words for those bashing him.

"HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That's the ultimate F**K OFF!" The tweets from Brown's account said at the height of the rampage.

The Tweets have since been removed, and Brown is in damage control mode, with his camp saying he didn't even post that. Mom? Not buying it.

A Brown source says: "Chris didn't Tweet that, someone does his postings to Twitter and when he saw that he ordered it taken down immediately."

However, “Joyce is absolutely livid that those vile words and rants were posted on Chris' Twitter page. She isn't buying his excuse that he didn't post it."

"She has told him repeatedly that it is his Twitter, only he should be posting to it, period. She feels like people were just waiting for a negative reaction."

"She had begged Chris to just ignore it and now that he didn't listen, she is just beside herself that after such successful performance at the Grammys and winning the award, people are now talking about this Twitter controversy."

Come on, Chris Brown.Ohhhhh YEAH

The singer has, for reasons unknown, fired back at those who took aim at Grammy Awards producers for inviting him to perform at music’s big night on Sunday.

Brown did nothing at all controversial during the show, and has been a model citizen of late. It's understandably frustrating that people won't let him move on.

Outbursts like this make it impossible to, however, because they fuel the perception that he's a temperamental hothead who shows no remorse or respect:

C Brown Tweet

The R&B star performed twice and picked up a Best R&B Album prize, but many industry executives, fans and celebs felt he shouldn’t have been there at all.

The Grammy Awards were, of course the scene of his infamous attack on ex-girlfriend Rihanna, which landed him in court on assault charges three years ago.

Tuesday, he Tweeted: “Hate all u want becuz I got a Grammy now! That’s the ultimate f--k off! Watch my back as I walk away from all this negativity.”

Those remarks have since been deleted, but the negativity he seeks to walk away from has only been fostered by his own inability to calm the hell down.

Seriously. Just take a deep breath, pull yourself together and put the iPhone down. Think it through. Maybe then you'll deserve to be called a role model.

Sherri Shepherd is on Team Breezy.

The View host has been vocal in defense of Chris Brown before, so it's no surprise that she stood up for the star in the wake of this week's Grammy lovefest backlash.

All Brown did was show up at the award show, perform and win. No controversy at all. Yet his mere presence at the event after his 2009 attack on Rihanna upset many.

While Shepherd criticized female fans who Tweet about how they'd let Chris beat them all night (among other things), Shepherd defended Brown from criticism.

He may even be a role model, she says. Why?

"There may be a child in a situation of going through abuse that Chris Brown has gone through. His mother was abused right in front of his very eyes six years before this happened to Rihanna. He used to wet his pants from the fear," Shepherd says.

"He was a victim! He became an offender. He did what the courts told him to do. He went to 52 weeks, a year of domestic prevention counseling."

That's all true, and she makes a strong case. But on the flip side, critics will point to the (perceived) utter lack of responsibility Brown has taken for his actions.

Behind-the-scenes blowups, arrogance and a lack of remorse (real or otherwise) contribute to the lack of forgiveness in people's eyes. Not heartlessness.

What do you think? Is Chris Brown a role model?

Chris Brown managed to stir up some controversy once again at the 2012 Grammy Awards ... even if all the singer did was show up, perform and win.

Some stars, including Miranda Lambert, wondered why the Best R&B Album winner / convicted felon was featured on not one but two performances.

On Monday, the country superstar tweeted "Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl ... Not cool that we act like that didn't happen."

  • CB Pic
  • Miranda Lambert at Grammys

"He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put in his place. Not at the Grammys." That's a reference to Lambert's 2007 hit "Gunpowder and Lead."

The lyrics to that song describe a woman preparing to kill her abusive husband when he gets out of jail. "His fist is big but my gun's bigger," she sings.

Lambert isn't the only celeb who questioned Brown's Grammy presence. "Chris Brown ... (bites tongue) have we forgiven him?" Michelle Branch asked.

Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet posted, after watching Brown's Grammy performance, "Are Chris Brown's mom and dad CBS and Grammy Brown?"

"Looks like all is forgiven (with) Chris Brown," Sherri Shepherd tweeted. "That's all I'll say." As of right now, Chris has not responded to these Tweets.

"Team Breezy we have come such along way and I'm so appreciative of you guys!!!! No matter what anyone says.... WE MADE IT!!" was all he wrote.

Chris infamously assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammys, an incident some feel should have kept him from this year's show.

Your take: Did the Grammys show Chris too much love?

Chris Brown returned to the Grammy Awards for the first time in three years Sunday night, notching a win for Best R&B album and putting on a spirited live performance.

Three years after assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna on the eve of the Grammys, Brown (who was convicted of felony assault) took that Staples Center stage.

The 22-year-old won over the crowd with a glow-in-the-dark rendition of "Turn Up the Music" and "Beautiful People." Take a look at the singer's effort below ...

There were no innuendos or screen cuts to ex-flame Rihanna. Chris Brown simply finished his songs, stood triumphantly and saluted the crowd before taking a bow.

Breezy - as Brown is nicknamed - made the night an even bigger success when he went on to win his first ever Grammy Award, for Best R&B Album for F.A.M.E.

"People who make mistakes and learn from them are ROLE MODELS too. Im just happy to inspire growth and positivity, #TEAMBREEZYdidit" Brown tweeted.

The haters and the skeptics remain in large quantities, but if his actions continue to match such words, he'll be on his way to a great career comeback.
