Former President of the United States Bill Clinton was honored as Father of the Year at a New York fundraiser on behalf of Save the Children on Tuesday.

Appropriately, his only child, daughter Chelsea Clinton, presented the award, which is given out annually by the National Father's Day Committee.

"Every day he's my dad, and I don't need an award to tell me he's the best that I ever could have hoped for," said Chelsea, 33, according to Parade.

"But I'm eternally grateful he's getting the recognition that I, of course, his unapologetically biased daughter, think he's always deserved."

The former commander-in-chief added that, despite the many important positions he’s held in his lifetime, his role as a father has always come first.

Chelsea Clinton's future could involve a run for office of her own. Bill and Hillary's daughter admits she would consider following in their famous footsteps.

Vogue says in its latest issue that Chelsea possesses her father's magnetism and her mother's discipline, and is "finally embracing her political birthright."

The magazine calls her "a young woman ready to change the world."

Chelsea Clinton is featured in the new issue of Vogue magazine.

In it, she muses that like her famous parents - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton - she may seek office too one day.

"Before my mom's campaign I would have said no," Chelsea said.

However, "If there were to be a point where it was something I felt called to do and I didn't think there was someone who was sufficiently committed to building a healthier, more equitable, more just, more productive world?"

"Then that would be a question I'd have to ask and answer."

Clinton, 32, who married investment banker Marc Mezvinsky in 2010, said her celebrity is "something I could continue to ignore or it was something I could try to use to highlight causes that I really cared about," she told Vogue.

Chelsea Clinton has spent most of her life avoiding the limelight, and as hard as that may be for a former First Daughter, she's proved remarkably adept at it.

Escaping attention, sticking to a close circle of friends and family, and being a thoughtful and accomplished young woman has been her commendable M.O.

Which is why her debut as a reporter with NBC News this week was a bit surprising, but what wasn't a big surprise was that she seemed somewhat camera-shy.

Introducing his new reporter, who has no journalistic experience, Brian Williams said only that Chelsea Clinton "has joined us because she wants to tell stories."

The daughter of Bill and Hillary has made it clear that she doesn't want to become the next Barbara Walters or celebrify herself, but to do good in the world.

It looks like it took her all of 48 hours to make her presence felt in that regard with her first story, a piece on TOPPS Inc, a Pine Bluff, Ark., after school charity.

"We are thrilled and absolutely overwhelmed with joy," said a volunteer, who declined to provide her name. "We're overwhelmed with donations," she said.

Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton has been hired as a full-time special correspondent for NBC News, according to reports. NBC will announce this later today.

NBC News president Steve Capus told the New York Times that the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will focus on pieces for the network's “Making a Difference” feature on NBC Nightly News.

Chelsea Clinton, 31, said in a statement:

Chelsea Clinton, Husband Marc Mezvinsky

"I hope that telling stories through 'Making a Difference' - as in my academic work and nonprofit work - will help me to live my grandmother’s adage of 'Life is not about what happens to you, but about what you do with what happens to you.'"

With that quote, Chelsea, who married Marc Mezvinsky last year, is paying homage to grandmother Dorothy Rodham, who died November 1 at the age of 92.

Other prominent political daughters who work for NBC News in some capacity include Jenna Bush Hager (The Today Show) and Meghan McCain (MSNBC).

Congrats to Chels on her new gig!

It there's trouble in paradise, newlyweds Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky weren't showing it at amfAR's annual New York Gala at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC.

The AIDS research foundation honored Chelsea's father, former President Bill Clinton, and the notoriously private couple went out on the town for the occasion.

Here's the longtime couple at the event, looking happy as ever ...

Chelsea and Marc at the event late last week.

This followed weeks of rumors that Clinton’s husband of less than a year had left her after he quit his investment banking job and went to Wyoming to ski.

Recent reports claimed their marriage was over, albeit not officially, after Marc walked out on Chelsea following a blowout fight about starting a family.

Chelsea and Marc denied the rumors, and after seeing the pair together in happy, it looks like this might have been nothing more than that. Rumors.

It's very possible Marc was burned out and needed time off from work, while Chelsea was just too busy to go to Wyoming. Let's hope that's all it was!

Chelsea Clinton's marriage is already over, according to the new Star Magazine.

This same celeb news tabloid also reports regularly that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston conspire to ruin Angelina Jolie, and that Britney Spears' man beat the crap out of her recently, so take anything it says with a boulder of salt.

Still, it's not the first report of trouble between Chelsea and Marc Mezvinsky ...

Chelsea Clinton Marriage Shocker

News that Marc quit his job and moved to Jackson Hole, Wyo., without Chelsea by his side surfaced recently, after which the couple denied marital problems.

It's certainly possible that there's trouble between them, but a "baby bombshell" or major blowup seem unlike for a pair that's been together so many years.

Also, it's Star. Take the believe-it-when-you-see-it approach for now.

Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky, who got married just last summer, have been the subjects of some unsettling rumors over the past week.

But the newlyweds say there's no trouble in their marriage.

Chelsea Clinton, Husband Marc Mezvinsky

Despite reports suggesting that there may be serious issues between the couple, a friend of the family reports, "The happy couple are happy."

Adds the friend: "Any report suggesting there is trouble in the marriage is absolutely false." Why all of the speculation to the contrary then?

Possibly because Mezvinsky, an investment banker who had been working for the Manhattan financial firm G3 Capital, recently left his job.

What he plans to do next is not yet known, but in the meantime he is taking advantage of some time off to ski in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Chelsea Clinton, meanwhile, is pursuing a PhD at New York University's Wagner School of Public Service, and visiting Marc when she can.

Chelsea Clinton, who Americans first got to know nearly two decades ago as the young daughter of President Bill Clinton, is now a married woman.

The lucky man is longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky.

Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre and Michael Buble

Wearing a dress by Vera Wang (a family friend who was present), the former First Daughter, 30, wed the investment banker, 32, in Rhinebeck, N.Y.

An interfaith ceremony for Chelsea, who is Methodist, and Marc, who is Jewish, was conducted by Rabbi James Ponet and the Rev. William Shillady.

Saturday's wedding was attended by 400 friends and family members, most notably Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton (wearing Oscar de la Renta).

The former President and current Secretary of State released a statement: "Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and close friends."

Presenting Mr. and Mrs. Marc Mezvinsky!

"We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family."

"On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day."

The guest list did not include Oprah Winfrey or President Obama, who joked on The View about his snub, but did feature Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Madeleine Albright, and a handful of congressmen and other prominent Democrats.

Rhinebeck, a beautiful, small town in upstate N.Y., was swarmed all week by paparazzi and national media trying to catch a glimpse of the festivities.

Everybody understandably wanted to see how the teenager who grew up in the White House blossomed into a blushing bride - and with good reason.

Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky live in New York City and have dated since 2005, although they have been friends since they were teenagers.

They seem so happy together, as are we for them. Congratulations to the couple! Click to enlarge more Chelsea Clinton wedding photos below!
