For a few weeks in early 2011, we all got a laugh out of Charlie Sheen. Remember these Korners?

But Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre, who battled publicly with his show's lead, tells TV Guide Magazine this month that he and CBS higher-ups weren't finding the actor's actions very funny. At all.

"The [studio and the network] chose to make a moral decision as opposed to a financial one," Lorre says. "This was not a game. This was drug addiction writ large. This was big-time cocaine, and in his own words, an 'epic drug run' that could have ended with either his death or someone else's."

Lorre said he chose to reboot the franchise with Ashton Kutcher because he had little to lose, adding that everything with Sheen simply spiraled out of control:

"He was a great friend and partner for eight years. And every time he got himself into trouble, we believed that there was healing that was going to come. I certainly believed that sobriety is something that he wants in his life, and I was wrong."

Brooke Mueller wasn't just arrested last week in Aspen for cocaine possession; she was arrested for cocaine possession with intent to distribute. In other words: police believed the troubled reality star was acting as a drug dealer!

But Charlie Sheen has responded to the incident and given a reasonable explanation for why his ex-wife would never sell drugs. Because she's an upright, clean and sober citizen? No. Because she's rich!

"With the child support I give her... she's gonna deal drugs? Never gonna happen," Sheen told TMZ.

The kind of crazy man has a point: he pays Mueller $55,000 in child support each month.

Sheen, who serves as a co-parent to the kids he shares with Brooke, was also booked in Aspen two years ago for allegedly beating Mueller up on Christmas Day. He took a shot at the officers in the city, as well.

"The cops in Aspen are Keystone on their finest day... these are the clowns that let [Ted] Bundy go."

According to witnesses, video and arrest records, Brooke Mueller spent Friday night in Aspen drinking, partying, dancing and assaulting.

She's now free on $11,000 bond... thanks to a certain famous, former drug-loving ex-husband.

That's right: Radar Online reports that Charlie Sheen posted his ex-wife's bond, which shouldn't come as a major surprise because he and Brooke have grown close again over the last few weeks.

But why didn't any immediate family members step up?

They "wanted to leave her in jail," a source claims, adding that Mueller's loved one are "done with her" and believe she must get clean... "or she is going to die."

Mueller has been in and out of rehab on numerous occasions. There are still scant details available regarding the latest incident, but documents show she was booked for cocaine possession and third degree assault.

Happy Thanksgiving to all from The Hollywood Gossip!

What would this holiday be without family, food, football and reflection upon the things we appreciate most ... in the case of THG, that means some of the turkeys we have had the privilege, the honor and the burden of covering in the past year.

We are talking some fowl individuals here ... real bird brains.

Without further ado, THG's Top 10 Turkeys of 2011 ...

Obama-Boehner Pic

Who will win the 5th Annual Spencer Pratt Thanksgiving Turkey Award!?

10. President Obama and GOP presidential candidates (tie). On a day when we share the blessings this nation has provided us, we'll also share the blame for a polarized electorate and a federal government destined for perennial gridlock.

9. Taylor Armstrong. Refining shamelessness, one episode at a time.

8. Gloria Allred. Loudmouth lawyer for accusers in seemingly every random celebrity scandal always wants to talk turkey ... and gobble up publicity.

Charlie Sheen is officially headed back to television.

FX has picked up Anger Management, outbidding two other networks for a series that will feature Sheen as a therapist with a short temper and will be based on the 2003 movie that starred Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler.

The sitcom will premiere with 10 episodes next summer, with FX already agreeing to 90 more if ratings are strong.

"We think that Bruce Helford, Joe Roth and Charlie Sheen have come up with a wonderful, hilarious vehicle for Charlie's acting talents - and a character we are very much looking forward to seeing him play," says John Landgraf, President and General Manager of FX Networks. "Two and a Half Men has been an outstanding component of FX's schedule for the past 14 months, and we have every confidence that Anger Management will soon be as well."

This will mark the actor's first gig since he was fired by CBS for being positively insane.

Will you tune in to Sheen's upcoming series?

Two days after comedian Patrice O'Neal suffered a massive stroke, Charlie Sheen has sent his best wishes for a full recovery to one of the celebrities who roasted him last month.

"[Patrice] is a gentle giant, a brilliant comedian, and a noble dude. Wishing him nothing but recovery, healing and laughter," Sheen told TMZ.

Dane Cook, a Boston native like O'Neal, also took to Twitter to pay tribute to the funny man, writing:

“Please pray for him and his family. Patrice is unlike anyone I’ve ever met. He’s one of the best comedians ever. Period. He also gave me some of the most useful/real (expletive) advice I’ve ever received. Please put positive thoughts into this world for P. #hope.”

Over 27 million people tuned in for the season nine premiere of Two and a Half Men, anxious to see what all the Ashton Kutcher-related hype was about.

Since then, however, ratings have dropped steadily for the CBS sitcom, which remains one of the most-watched show on television, yet has lost about 10 million households since its September opener.

Charlie Sheen thinks he knows the problem and, no, he isn't about to blame Ashton Kutcher's sordid personal life. The actor simply tells INF Daily that the show isn't very good, he's "extremely disappointed" with the way producers are "handling what I left behind" and ratings are poor because:

"People aren't stupid ... not all of them."

What do you think, readers? Whose version of Two and a Half Men do you prefer?

Over 28 million people tuned in for the season nine premiere of Two and a Half Men, but one viewer in particular has made headlines for his take on Ashton Kutcher's debut.

What did Charlie Sheen think of his replacement?

The Debut of Walden Schmidt

After referring to Jon Cryer as a "freaking genius," Sheen told Access Hollywood late last week: "I think everybody won. I thought the show was really good. I thought [Ashton] was terrific."

Sheen is likely including himself in this list of winners, considering he'll bank $100 million off the show over the next few years.

What did you think of Kutcher's Two and a Half Men debut?

Love him, hate him or really, really hate him, there's no denying the drawing power of Charlie Sheen.

This warlock's Comedy Central Roast garnered an incredible 6.4 million viewers on Monday night, setting a network record for a special of this nature and out-drawing anything that aired on Fox or NBC.

Being Roasted

Said Sheen when he took to the podium, following digs from Seth MacFarlane, Jon Lovitz, Kate Walsh, Mike Tyson, William Shatner and others:"It was only when the smoke cleared, I realized just how lucky I am. Even after all that, I still have a family that loves me."

The absence of Sheen was also a winner Monday evening: Ashton Kutcher's debut on Two and a Half Men led to that show's highest-ever ratings. Nearly 28 million people watched.
