This piece of celebrity gossip would fit right in on an episode of Gossip Girl. It appears that American Idol winner Carrie Underwood is single again - and the reason is the wandering eye of her most recent boyfriend, Chace Crawford.

Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford have been spotted together on numerous occasions this fall, and have smiled and gushed about each other in interviews.

But, according to the New York Post, things unraveled because several weeks ago, Crawford was seen making out with some blonde - who wasn't Carrie Underwood.

Carrie Underwood may have to act out some of the scenes her "Before He Cheats" music video if these rumors of Chace Crawford's recent cheating are proven true.

Sources suggest this mystery blonde may have been Katrina Bowden.

Then, last Wednesday night at New York City's Beatrice Inn, Chace and his cute Gossip Girl co-star, Leighton Meester, were seen sucking face - and this didn't involve a scene for their CW series, on which they are boyfriend and girlfriend.

THE HOLLYWOOD GOSSIP NOTE: That would be the same Big Apple locale Heath Ledger allegedly bagged Lindsay Lohan at. That's all we've got.

The surly Simon Cowell may not have been personally on hand at L.A.'s Nokia theater Sunday night, but the American Idol judge would have been proud of a pair of his proteges at the 35th Annual American Music Awards.

Straight off her three wins at the Country Music Association Awards earlier this month, Carrie Underwood picked up three more trophies last night.

"This is one heck of a night," she gushed, looking genuinely happy (and not to mention gorgeous) accepting the award for favorite country album.

She also won favorite country female artist and an audience text-in award for favorite artist. And, ever the Southern belle, Carrie Underwood was overheard saying "holy cow" as her name was read for the second time.

Chris Daughtry, another nominated American Idol, joined his eponymous band, Daughtry, at the podium three times as it won favorite pop-rock album for Daughtry, as well as breakthrough artist and adult contemporary artist.

"Wow. I can't believe we're in the category with Justin Timberlake and Linkin Park. It's pretty awesome," Chris Daughtry said.

Some of night's other winners included Akon (soul/R&B male), Rihanna (soul/R&B female), and Justin Timberlake (pop/rock male and soul/R&B album), who accepted his awards via satellite from Australia, where he is on tour.

While host Jimmy Kimmel's dancing and ad-libbing left a lot to be desired, the performance by Chris Brown and his dancers to "Kiss Kiss" - a literal high-wire act with hip-hop versions of Tron-style suits - left many speechless.

Likewise, Beyonce (another winner on the evening) and Sugarland's countrified version of her smash hit "Irreplaceable" had the crowd on its feet.

On a serious and sad note, Usher, Kid Rock and Rihanna took time to send their condolences Kanye West, who is grieving over the loss of his mother, Donda West, whose funeral is set for Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

After rumors swirled that Chace Crawford was getting cozy with the smoking hot 30 Rock receptionist, it appears he and Carrie Underwood are still on.

After scoring big at last week's Country Music Awards, the blonde cutie and former American Idol winner unwinds on an evening stroll with her rumored boyfriend and Gossip Girl star - and her puppy - Sunday night in New York City.

With two awards last week, Carrie continued to establish herself as a rising star in the country music field - and possibly Chace's love life. Regardless of who he's dating, Chace Crawford is part of one of the hottest casts on TV.

Between Crawford, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley, there's something (or somebody) for everyone on Gossip Girl, which airs on The CW.

If 2006 was Carrie Underwood's coming-out party at the CMA Awards, 2007 solidified her place among the current greats of country music.

For the second year in a row, Underwood won two big awards in Nashville on Tuesday night, repeating as female vocalist of the year and nabbing single of the year for "Before He Cheats." Last year, she won the Horizon Award.

"God had blessed me with so many wonderful things in my life, and I will spend my entire life trying to figure out why," Carrie Underwood, 24, said after beating out Reba McEntire and other veterans for the vocalist award.

"If you had told me a few years ago I would have been nominated with the people that I have been nominated with, I would have called you insane."

Unfazed by rumors of her boyfriends (past and present) maybe dating others - Tony Romo and Sophia Bush, Chace Crawford and Katrina Bowden - Carrie continues to make her name in country music. We couldn't be happier.

We've heard from her at length. Now it's his turn. Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford is finally speaking out about his new girlfriend Carrie Underwood.

"She's a classy girl," Chace Crawford told Us Weekly at the 2007 Angel Ball in NYC October 29. No word on whether he and Carrie are going steady. But looks like it.

Crawford, 22, and Underwood, 24, have apparently been dating since July. He first introduced himself to her at Hyde in West Hollywood in May.

The pair has gotten even cozier recently in the Big Apple as he shoots his new CW hit show and she promotes her new album, Carnival Ride, dining for two at NYC's Nobu and sipping champagne and kissing a lot at NYC club Marquee.

"Chace and Carrie are in love," an Underwood pal says. "They are both working all the time right now, but together whenever they can be."

No word on whether Underwood and Crawford will be spending Thanksgiving together â€" although, if they do, it could be somewhat awkward.

Crawford, a Texas Native, says that his plans are "going back to Dallas to see the family. A lot of eating. Maybe the Cowboys football game."

Underwood, of course, dated Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who's moved on to partying with Alli Sims and getting lap dances from Britney Spears.

While the lovely Blake Lively has yet to comment on the budding relationship of Chace Crawford and Carrie Underwood, another Gossip Girl co-star, Nicole Fiscella, can't say enough good things about the new romance.

"They're the cutest couple," Fiscella says of Crawford and Underwood, who have been spotted hanging out around New York City in the last month.

The pair has been hanging out and stopping everywhere from the hip hot spot Marquee to Justin Timberlake's Southern Hospitality restaurant.

"Chase is just such a great guy," Nicole Fiscella, 23, says of her 22-year-old Gossip Girl co-star.

"He's so much fun and he just loves his life right now. He seems to be having a good time with [Carrie]."

Underwood, the 24-year-old American Idol winner, who finds Crawford "really cute," has plans to meet Chace Crawford's Gossip Girl costars soon.

"We were all going to meet up one night and I didn't get to meet her yet," says Fiscella, "But I hear she's a great girl."

We would have to agree. Tony Romo, you missed out.

In New York to promote her new album, Carrie Underwood took Tuesday night off to hang out with her new boyfriend, who she's quite fond of.

The hot pair, first reported as a couple last week, was spotted on another dinner date. Chace Crawford and Carrie Underwood shared a romantic meal at upscale Italian restaurant "Destino" on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

At issue, specifically? Romance rumors and love in the public eye with NFL quarterback Tony Romo and now Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford.

"Eventually you are going to get busted if you are dating someone," Carrie Underwood tells the Tennessean, the Nashville daily newspaper.

"Although there are definite ways around it."

Regarding Tony Romo, Underwood says they were never a couple. It might have been an option at one point, but it wasn't meant to be - and they're still good friends to this day.

"Right now, the place we are at, he is my best friend. He'll call me after games... Either I'm flying high with him or making him feel better," Carrie says.

"It took a little while to get to this point. It seemed like maybe for a bit we were headed there. We never got there."

As for dating while famous, Carrie Underwood acknowledges that her romantic life very often becomes public knowledge, but "it's just weird when it's not a date and people immediately assume it is."

It's also hard to know if a man likes her for who she is.

"I like hanging out with people that I know through someone. Then at least that person at some point will allude to their character, 'Oh my gosh, he's such a great guy,' or, 'She's fun to hang out with.' When meeting people in general, I like to have a reference to go off of."

Now, she's known for being a top-selling country music artist and for dating Chace Crawford.

But a few years ago, no one had ever heard of Carrie Underwood. She was just another American Idol hopeful, trying to impress judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell.
