According to Carrie Prejean, gays should never fall in love, exchange rings and marry.

But Miss California has no problem when they eat, drink and be merry!

Celebrity gossip sites are reporting that Prejean - who continues to make headlines, days after she said she believes marriage should be between "a man and a woman" during the 2009 Miss USA pageant - once hung out with famous transsexual and gay icon Amanda Lepore.

"I don't remember even meeting her," Lepore told Us Weekly about their time partying together, shown below.

As for Carrie's comments and the subsequent controversy, Lepore said: "It's stupid for her to be running for Miss USA to say that. It's a dumbbell remark. If you're Miss USA, you are supposed to be smart and that's not a smart idea."

Whether she wants it or not, Carrie Prejean has become a national celebrity.

The reigning Miss California's answer to a question about gay marriage has prompted a number of stars to speak out on the topic, while her references to the bible have sparked a (hopefully healthy) debate among The Hollywood Gossip readers.

Now, in a new interview, Prejean speaks out on a number of topics. Here's a summary of what she had to say:

• Perez Hilton had a hidden agenda at the pageant. Carrie said the self-serving blogger "wanted to go out there and bash me and say things that were very hurtful."

• She would only have coffee with Hilton, who has extended the invitation, if a pastor came along with her.

• She would express her same opinion again, given the chance to do it all over again.

• She doesn't see gay marriage being made legal, on a national level, any time soon.

• People are not born gay. It's a "behavior that develops over time."

While it's always nice - and entertaining - to hear the thoughts of various celebrities, Miley Cyrus, Heidi Montag and others that have confronted the issue of gay marriage over the last few days aren't exactly qualified to speak on the topic.

Then there's Nicole Lamarche.

Like Carrie Prejean, Lamarche was named Miss California in 2003. She's now an ordained minister at Cotuit Federated Church in Cotuit, MA.

Lamarche has released a statement that defends the rights of gay couples to marry. To sum up, she says:

• Those - such as Prejean, who said her answer was "biblically correct" - that cite the Bible in their anti-gay marriage stance are simply picking and choosing a passage or two that appears to back up their beliefs.

However, the same Book (Leviticus) that claims "lying with men" is an "abomination," condemns the act of eating shrimp and lobster together, as well as wearing material woven of two kinds of material, in the same exact way.

• Therefore, while it's impossible to interpret the Bible literally and live one's life according to every passage, it's quite possible - nay, encouraged - to live one's life according to what Christians believe God to represent: love, for all people, especially outcasts.

Makes perfect sense to us.

Evade questions about Carrie Prejean!

At the opening of a clothing store in New York City this week, the Olympic champion was asked about rumors that he and the Miss USA runner-up are an item.

"I'm not dating anybody," he told Us Weekly. "I'm single. My private life stays private."

His pot-smoking life, however, is available for anyone to see!

Michael Phelps says he is not dating Carrie Prejean. Having sex with her whenever he's in California, though? No comment!

Regarding Prejean's anti-gay marriage response during last weekend's beauty pageant, Phelps remained neutral.

"That's the cool thing about America: everybody has their opinion... I'm not saying I support her. I'm not saying I don't support her."

With that in mind, Equality California - a pro-LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender) organization - has asked Carrie Prejean to join members of its community at an upcoming dinner.

Carrie Prejean wants people to judge her on her bikini body, not her gay marriage stance.

Geoff Kors, the executive director of Equality California, said: "Miss California probably doesn't realize how hurtful her statements are, especially to the LGBT youth... this is about something much bigger than the issue of marriage alone, and I have to believe that if she meets us, she will come to see our humanity."

Forget her stance on gay marriage.

Carrie Prejean is truly about to become a celebrity gossip favorite now.

A relative has confirmed that the controversial Miss California has been dating Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, off and on, for the last few weeks.

Rumors began to swirl during an interview Prejean gave to Access Hollywood last week. Asked about her relationship with Phelps, Carrie told Billy Bush: “He is a great man. Wouldn't you like to know, Billy? We can talk about that a different day.”

Hmmm, what happened to the honest and forthright Miss California?

Carrie Prejean: Anti-gay marriage, pro-great abs.

Fortunately, Prejean's grandma, Jeannette Coppolla, has opened up to Radar Online about the relationship.

"Carrie and Michael have been out to baseball games and lunch. He always calls her when he is in town and they go out.... Carrie knows that he has dated a lot of girls [such as Caroline Pal], but she enjoys going out with him and isn't serious about being in a relationship with him. He's a nice guy and she likes him."

In other words: Carrie Prejean is Michael Phelps' booty call when he's in town.

What does the Bible say about that?

Newly-crowned Miss USA Kristen Dalton and runner-up Carrie Prejean hold different views on gay marriage - but the former says the embattled Miss California has every right to her opinion and harbors no ill will towards her.

On the Today show, Al Roker asked Dalton how she would have responded to the gay marriage question posed to Prejean that sparked so much debate in the finals.

"The beautiful thing about America is that we have the right to choose what partner we want to love, commit and spend the rest of our lives with," Kristen said.

"I think that all couples should be able to be recognized legally, to enter into a union. Whether or not that should be defined as marriage, I'll leave that to politicians."

Despite opinions that politics and religion should be left out of the competition, Dalton said the gay marriage question, posed by judge Perez Hilton, was "fair."

"It's a social issue that surrounds us every day that citizens should be aware of," she said. "As a state representative, I think we should be prepared to answer it."

While they share different viewpoints, Kristen Dalton supports her rival.

"I'm proud of her for speaking from her heart, and she's passionate and what she believes in, and she's proud of herself," she said of Carrie Prejean. "I respect her."

"The beauty of America is that we all have a right to our own opinion."

This summer, the two have a chance to reunite. If Kristen Dalton wins the Miss Universe competition, Carrie Prejean could inherit her Miss USA title.

"I would love for Carrie to become Miss USA," Dalton said. "We were actually friends during the competition. I love her, and I think she's great."

The more important issue, obviously: Who would you rather ...

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag may be shameless, self-promoting and annoying, but the Bible-reading Hills pair believes all human beings are equal and should receive the same rights they will enjoy when they get married Saturday.

In the wake of the ongoing controversy surrounding Carrie Prejean, the Miss USA runner-up who says Perez Hilton's question about - and her opposition to - gay marriage cost her the crown, Twitter-obsessed Spencer wrote to Perez:

"This Miss USA question was genius! GOD is ALL LOVE so any way that people try to use GOD to make other people feel bad is PURE EVIL!!!"

We can't believe we're saying it, but Mr. Pratt actually deserves some props for this profoundly simple point. As does his plastic bride-to-be.

On her Twitter page, Heidi Montag offered support for the celebrity gossip blogger and gays and lesbians across the world, Tweeting passionately:

"God says in the bible that we should love our neighbor and he created us all as equals. I know in my heart that gays and lesbians should have the same government rights that Spencer and I will when we get married. So, yes, this blonde Christian believes in gay marriage and I hope to one day go to YOUR wedding, Perez!!!"

Take that, Carrie Prejean.

And it's not just Speidi - you can count Miley Cyrus as a member of Team Perez, as well. Here's what the 16-year-old star had to Twitter:

"Jesus loves you AND your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! thats like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz hes gay and that is WRONG and very sad! like i said everyone deserves to be happy ... i am a christian and i love you - gay or not. BECAUSE you are no different that anyone else! we are all gods children!"

Praise? Thoughts? Criticisms? Reponses? Have at it!

As a former Miss USA, Shanna Moakler does possess a smidgen of credibility when addressing the controversy regarding Carrie Prejean and this year's pageant.

The former contestant wrote on her MySpace blog that Prejean did NOT cost herself the crown with what she said in response to Perez Hilton's gay marriage question; rather, the issue was how she said it.

"She lost the crown because she wasn't able to convey compassion for ALL the people that, as MISS USA, she would be representing," Moakler wrote. "And if YOU like it or not, gays and lesbians make up this country as well. THIS is why we have judges, so they can find the RIGHT woman who obtains these qualities."

Moakler has no problem with Miss California standing by her convictions, however.

"[I don't] have any issue with her stating her opinion... I agree with the majority that this IS what makes our country great... freedom of speech. She was asked a question, and she answered it."

Carrie Prejean was seeking a crown. Instead, she found controversy.

Carrie Prejean has played the God card.

The Miss USA contestant - who has been all over the news for telling judge Perez Hilton that she believes marriage ought to be reserved for a man and woman - sat down with Fox News this week and actually said the ordeal is simply a test from God.

Right. She's a regular Jonah.

Here are a few excerpts from the fair and balanced interview:

On how she's feeling: Happy. This happened for a reason. By having to answer that question in front of a national audience, God was testing my character and faith. I'm glad I stayed true to myself.

On the question about gay marriage:  I knew he was controversial, and so was the question. Out of all the topics I studied up on, I dreaded that one, I prayed I would not be asked about gay marriage. If I had any other question, I know I would have won.

On her response: I have no regrets about answering honestly. [Perez Hilton] asked me for my opinion and I gave it to him. I have nothing against gay people, and I didn't mean to offend anyone in my answer.

On her post-pageant activity: I ate my first hamburger in a long time!

So, to recap: Carrie Prejean took part in a beauty pageant, in order to be asked a question about gay marriage, to which she responded by denying homosexuals basic human rights, which simply proved her faith to God, but doesn't mean she has anything against gay people. And her reward, after starving herself for months, was a hamburger.
