All the other contestants giving the politically correct and "fake" response......and she put herself on the line by being honest. Since when did Americans have to lie? Look this whole argument, for the majority, seems to be over a word - marriage. I believe that if gays want to unite officially in the eyes of the government, fine. It doesn't bother me - and this is a free country. I am a Christian AND an American and I do believe in the idea that all Americans should be able to engage in whatever activities they want as long as they aren't harming others. I don't necessarily agree with it, but it's their choice, not mine. It's not a free country if only a portion of people can experience freedom. There is no such thing as limited freedom - it's an either/or. But I DO have an issue with the use of the word marriage in the union of gays. To me this is a holy word. Marriage is a holy action in the eyes of God. Sorry folks, but MARRIAGE is between a man and a woman, and that is the will of God. I would be offended if the woman who represents my country as Miss USA would say anything other than what Carrie said. Miss USA is the epitomy of what is great about American women. First let me say I'm a moderate liberal who supported gay marriage rights in the recent CA prop 8 vote. But I am getting really PISSED by what Perez, the media, and the liberal left is doing to this girl. She was asked a question (a question that should never have been allowed by the pageant in the first place!), and she simply gave her honest answer. I completely respect her for that. Give me a break, she doesn't deserved to be burned at the stake.
