Carly Rae Jepsen has been dominating the Billboard singles chart all summer long, much to the threatening chagrin of Lady Gaga.

This fall? She's taking aim at the top album ranking. We can confirm that the 26-year old sensation will release a new CD on September 18. It will be titled "Kiss."

“The record is pop,” Jepsen said in a statement, shocking absolutely no one. ”It’s inspired by Robyn, the Cars, Madonna, and believe it or not, James Taylor.”

While Jepsen took the music world by enormous storm this year - not long after she was discovered by Justin Bieber and signed by his label - this will not be the singer's debut album.

She released "Tug of War" in 2008 and its titular track peaked at #36 on the Canadian Hot 100.

Cher Lloyd's new song "Want U Back" is drawing comparisons to Carly Rae Jepsen's smash hit "Call Me Maybe" with its infectiously bubbly beats.

While Cher, 19, is British, she and the Canadian Carly Rae both got their musical starts on reality shows (X Factor and Canadian Idol, respectively).

Carly Rae holds the #1 spot on the pop chart and has inspired more Call Me Maybe covers than we can count. Safe to say it's the song of the summer.

Cher's "Want U Back" is up to #12 and climbing, though.

In order to boost its popularity, Lloyd will be releasing a bonus version with Snoop Dogg (sorry, Snoop Lion) on her new album Sticks + Stones.

What do you think of Cher Lloyd's track? Hit material?

Carly Rae Jepsen is happy that talk around the Internet is turning back to her music career.

For most of yesterday, this 26-year old dealt with false chatter about a rumored sex tape. But now online buzz has turned instead to the official music video Jepsen has released with Owl City for their collaboration, "Good Time."

In it, Carly and singer Adam Young head out on the road for a camping adventure, replete with tents, fires and, of course, dancing. Watch for yourself and note that Owl City’s new LP, “Midsummer Station,” will be released on August 14.

Call her a Teen Choice Award winner.

Carly Rae Jepsen took home two trophies at last night's fun ceremony, one for Breakout Star and the other for having the Song of the Summer. Perhaps you've heard it once or twice.

If so, go ahead and make it three times, as the 26-year old Canadian put on one of the more enjoyable performance of the night, belting out a rendition of "Call Me Maybe" while the screen behind her flashed shots of other celebrities lip-syncing along.

We dare you not to do the same as you watch...

Call her maybe. But don't dare call her a one-hit wonder!

So Carly Rae Jepsen must be thinking at this point, as she has followed up her debut smash single with "Good Time," a just-released new track that features Own City (aka Adam Young).

The main takeaway from this summer anthem? It's always a good time. No, really. Always. We hear that refrain over and over, but take a listen now and just try to get the tune out of your head...

The song will be available for digital download on June 26.

Forget "Maybe." You may now call Carly Rae Jepsen Queen of the Music World.

That's because the 26-year old Canadian, signed by Justin Bieber to his label just a few short months ago, has officially hit number-one on the Billboard 100, with "Call Me Maybe" overtaking Gotye's "Somebody That You Used To Know" atop the rankings.

The addictive Jepsen single has been lip dubbed by everyone from Katy Perry to the E! Fashion Police. But how can we be certain the track has broken through to every conceivable demographic?

Because former Secretary of State Colin Powell actually sang it during a commercial break on CBS This Morning. We're not kidding...

We've got a new version of "Call Me Maybe" to present to readers, but this one isn't brought to us by the Harvard baseball team or President Obama.

No, this time Carly Rae Jepsen herself is in on the remake.

The 26-year old singer joined Jimmy Fallon and The Roots last night, reproducing the single’s bouncy beat in a very elementary (school) manner: via classroom instruments such as a bongo, xylophone, melodica, tone block and a triangle. It's fun stuff.
