Brittany Murphy’s funeral will be held tomorrow night, on Christmas Eve, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, according to sources close to her.

The actress will be laid to rest less than a week after her tragic death at the age of 32. Murphy died suddenly of a heart attack early Sunday at her home.

The funeral service at Forest Lawn, the final resting place of the late Michael Jackson as well as many other celebrities, is listed as “strictly private.”

The cause of death is listed as cardiac arrest but the autopsy results were deferred and won’t be released for the next couple of weeks at the earliest.

At that point, we may know more from toxicology screenings about whether the various medications found in Murphy's home contributed to her death.

We wish her family and friends the best amid this sad event.

R.I.P.: Brittany Murphy passed away Sunday morning at just 32 years of age. Her husband, Simon Monjack, and her mom Sharon are taking this tragedy hardest.

Officials planned to keep the details of Brittany Murphy's death classified until the official autopsy results were determined and could be released in 4-6 weeks.

Only someone apparently forgot to tell the biggest celeb news site. Now the L.A. County Coroner's Office wants to know how detailed report ended up on TMZ.

The site reported Monday that it had obtained notes laying out a timeline of Sunday morning of Murphy's death - and the long list of meds in Murphy's house.

Now someone wants TMZ's head (and that of their mole) on a platter. And we thought one of our editors was upset over their proposed TMZsports.com site.

The agency's chief investigator, Ed Winter, told E! News that no one authorized the disclosure of such information and he wants to know who's responsible.

"The investigator did not release this, nor did he talk to anybody," said Winter.

Information on Brittany Murphy's final hours was leaked yesterday.

"Where did this come from? Neither Chief [Coroner Craig] Harvey nor I released the information. I don't even know if we provided LAPD with a copy yet."

Winter said he had seen the notes TMZ quoted and was not able to verify their authenticity, but we'd say there's a pretty good chance they're very accurate.

After all, we've seen that site come up with stuff out of nowhere many times before that turned out to be true - Elin Woods' fight with Tiger comes to mind.

Winter did not say if the prescription medications listed in the documents matched what his team found, or if he feels they led to Murphy's heart attack.

"I hadn't even seen the list of the possible drugs," he said. "I didn't have any notes and I have not checked the evidence log. I really don't even know."

Given his semi-shady reputation and that relatively little is known about him in general, Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack has come under scrutiny.

Such is the nature of celebrity deaths in general, too, especially when someone as young as Murphy (32) dies of cardiac arrest. Fans want answers.

Mr. & Mrs. Monjack

Monjack is hitting back at rumors regarding his wife's passing, however, insisting she did not overdose on drugs and did not have an eating disorder.

"These rumors that she was anorexic? It's crazy. She was slim, but that was her natural physique," Monjack says, adding that he wants answers too.

"This is what's killing all of us. How did it happen? Why did it happen? Her mum, myself and her family – we want to know why we lost our baby."

In his tear-filled interview, an exhausted Simon Monjack said all he knows is what doctors told him Sunday: Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest.

They won't know the full details until after an autopsy, the results of which have been deferred pending most tests which could take six weeks.

Simon Monjack says he, too, is shocked at how his "baby" died.

Monjack raised eyebrows when he objected to having an autopsy done on Murphy (the Coroner's office overruled him). He explained that to People:

"My initial reaction to the autopsy was ... they're going to cut her open – I couldn't bear it ... That would break her mother," the 39-year-old said.

"But we realize we need to know. I look forward to getting the results."

He added that Murphy did suffer from a heart murmur (a mitral valve prolapse), which can cause fatigue, dizziness and irregular heartbeats.

Murphy didn't require medication to treat it, says Monjack, but she was quite ill before she passed away, and had a lot of medication at home.

"She was on herbal remedies that wouldn't speed up her heart," Monjack says. "But there was nothing here that could endanger her; there was prescription medication in the house for her female time and some cough syrup. That's it."

Asked point-blank if a drug overdose was a possible cause of death, the dejected Simon replied, "I can get rid of that one right now," he says.

Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, and mother, Sharon Murphy, made a frantic attempt to revive her before paramedics arrived on Sunday morning.

Notes written by an investigator from the L.A. County Coroner's office show there were a shocking number of prescription meds on the late star's nightstand.

Brittany "had been complaining of shortness of breath and severe abdominal pain" for 7-10 days prior to her death from cardiac arrest two mornings ago.

Murphy went into the bathroom around 7:30 a.m.

Half an hour later, Brittany's mother, Sharon Murphy, went to check on her daughter, opened the bathroom door and found her on the floor unresponsive.

Brittany Murphy (1977-2009).

Sharon yelled for help. Her husband, who broke his silence on his wife's tragic death last night, heard the screams from Sharon and ran to the bathroom.

Sharon called 911 and Simon Monjack, who had been in bed, "attempted to revive the decedent by placing her in the shower and running the water."

Murphy was unresponsive and purged her stomach contents prior to the arrival of the paramedics. When paramedics arrived, she was "without signs of life."

Paramedics moved Brittany from the bathroom to the master bedroom, where they found a slew of prescription drugs. The medications included:

Less than two days after Brittany Murphy died cardiac arrest at the age of 32, her husband Simon Monjack made his first comments about her tragic death.

"My world was destroyed yesterday," an emotional Simon told Access Hollywood. "I loved what Ashton [Kutcher] wrote on Twitter. It was comforting to me."

The message posted by Kutcher, Murphy's ex-boyfriend read, "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine ... My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon. see you on the other side kid."

Simon Monjack said that he did not know his wife's former Just Married co-star personally, but thanked Ashton, saying "I couldn't have said it better."

As far as what happened inside the actress' home Sunday, when Murphy was found unresponsive in the shower, Monjack it started as "a regular day."

"[Her mother] Sharon went in the bathroom because she had been in there a long time. Her mom screamed for me. I ran, then called 911," he said.

His world shattered after his young wife tragically passed away, a dejected Simon Monjack found comfort in the words of Brittany Murphy's ex Ashton Kutcher.

The L.A. Fire Department responded to a 911 call from the home and transported Murphy to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

L.A. County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said the actress' death "appears to be natural at this time." Murphy's autopsy results have been deferred.

With regards to reports that she was battling flu-like symptoms in recent days, Monjack said Murphy was sick, but it did not seem like anything serious.

"She had laryngitis," he said, noting that the 32-year-old had seen a doctor. "She had been tired at the end of the year. She had made a couple movies."

Monjack - who married Murphy in 2007, took exception to the idea that his wife was surrounded people (including himself) who were bad influences.

"I don't know why anyone would think that," he said.

"She found love. We found love. Brittany didn't get to where Brittany was with anyone controlling her or influencing her ... Brittany was Brittany."

The LAPD's preliminary investigation into the death of Brittany Murphy has established that there is no evidence of foul play or other criminal activity, sources say.

Police are now waiting for the Brittany Murphy autopsy results from the L.A. County Coroner. If the results raise red flags, the LAPD may pursue the matter further.

Investigators believe, pending the autopsy, that Murphy died of natural causes. But autopsy results have been deferred pending toxicology and neurological tests.

Still, the LAPD has not formally closed the investigation because of the possibility that Murphy, who passed away Sunday, overdosed on prescription medication.

“We are keeping the investigation open until the toxicology reports are available in five to six weeks,” an LAPD source privy to the investigation told Radar Online.

The late Brittany Murphy (1977-2009).

Given how much medication was found in her house, a source says “We are focusing on possible overdose scenarios including looking at prescription medicines.”

Coroner's office officials took a sample of her brain for testing. It will take weeks for test results to come through, along with various toxicology screenings.

Early yesterday, the 32-year-old actress was transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in L.A. after falling ill and being found unconscious in the bathroom.

Three attempts to resuscitate her failed and she was declared dead after suffering from cardiac arrest. She is survived by her husband, Simon Monjack.

When Brittany Murphy married Simon Monjack in May 2007, few had heard of the guy, and those who had generally didn't have very positive things to say.

They seemed happy throughout their low-profile marriage. But in the aftermath of Murphy's shocking death Sunday, Simon Monjack is back in the spotlight.

Who is this guy? He's often referred to as a screenwriter, but his IMDB page lists just two films: Factory Girl and the U.K. indie drama Two Days, Nine Lives.

Part of the reason Brittany's fans were suspicious of her out-of-nowhere marriage to the Brit was his shady background of financial issues and evictions.

Simon Monjack was booted from four separate apartments from 1996-2007.

In 2006, he was sued by mortgage and banking company Coutts and Co. for $470,132, which he finished paying off in 2008 ... after marrying Murphy.

His checkered past shows warrants for his arrest in Virginia for credit card theft and fraud, an unpaid $6,087 legal bill, and a $502,910 judgment against him by a British investment firm. He also allegedly faced deportation ... in early 2007.

Brittany Murphy with mysterious husband Simon Monjack.

We'll be honest, we had never heard of Simon Monjack until he married Murphy. But as soon as he did, THG's articles were flooded with comments decrying him as a thief, a con-man (nicknamed Con-Jack) and a pathological liar.

Our reader comments can't be corroborated, of course, but let's just say that few random guys trigger such wrath, especially with this breadth of detail.

It definitely makes you think.

Monjack and Murphy were engaged in late 2006, just months after she ended her engagement to Little Black Book production assistant Joe Macaluso.

Despite the uproar over their marriage, things were pretty quiet until late last month, when Murphy was fired from upcoming thriller flick The Caller.

While her rep deniedit, there was speculation the actress was fired for being difficult - and that Monjack was stirring up trouble behind the scenes.

Whatever the reason, Monjack and Murphy boarded a plane from Puerto Rico to L.A., where upon landing, Monjack was "incoherent" and hospitalized.

All of this may be totally unrelated to Murphy's death from cardiac arrest early yesterday, but the couple's history of strange behavior is noteworthy.

No foul play is suspected, at least not yet. We'll have more on Brittany's death - and Simon Monjack - when more information is available.

Authorities do not suspect any foul play, but  Brittany Murphywas taking prescription medication and very ill in the hours before she died of a heart attack Sunday.

The actress was taking prescriptions for flu-like symptoms she had been experiencing for several days. Murphy began vomiting early yesterday and became sick.

Rest in Peace Brittany

In the home, various prescriptions were found written for Brittany Murphy, her husband Simon Monjack, and Brittany's mother. The amount of drugs? Not small.

A source said, "There were a lot ... a lot of prescriptions in the house."

Law enforcement sources say Brittany Murphy collapsed in the bathroom and ended up in the shower, having vomited significantly in the immediate vicinity.

Authorities did not find illegal drugs in the house, but Murphy was definitely taking various prescription medications. Did that contribute to her tragic death?

R.I.P. Brittany Murphy (1977-2009).

Sources say her condition and the medication could have triggered Murphy's fatal heart attack, but it's too early to know. The LAPD is currently investigating.

Simon Monjack, who married Brittany in 2007, does not want an autopsy performed, but it's not his decision. The L.A. County Coroner's office will conduct one.

Murphy's body should be autopsied today or tomorrow, but the results of the full battery of toxicology tests they're sure to do may not be available for weeks.

Brittany's mother told paramedics her daughter suffered from diabetes, but sources involved in the case doubt the star's diabetes (type 2) led to her death.

Actress Brittany Murphy is dead after tragically falling into full cardiac arrest this morning and could not be revived by medical personnel, according to reports.

The New Jersey native was only 32 years old.

Mr. & Mrs. Monjack

A 911 call was made at 8:00 a.m. from a home in Los Angeles that is believed to be owned by her husband, Simon Monjack, the L.A. Fire Department said.

Murphy, whose film credits include Clueless, 8 Mile and Don't Say a Word, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was pronounced dead on arrival.

R.I.P. Brittany Murphy (1977-2009) passed away this morning.

While the circumstances resulting in Murphy's cardiac arrest are not known at this time, the actress' young age is bound to raise plenty of suspicions and questions.

Brittany wed Simon Monjack in May 2007, after which she has largely been absent from the spotlight. Her last big films were Sin City (2005) and Happy Feet (2006).

It's far too early to speculate about any drug use being involved, but Monjack himself was just hospitalized after a bizarre incident at LAX airport November 30.

We'll keep you posted as more details become available ...

UPDATE, 5:00 p.m. EST: According to TMZ, Brittany's mom discovered her unconscious in the shower. When paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR.

The paramedics continued CPR en route to the hospital, but Murphy was unresponsive and pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

The LAPD has launched an investigation.

UPDATE, 6:30 p.m. EST: Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, told hospital staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center he did not want an autopsy performed on her.

His reasoning for that request is not known. However, despite Monjack's wishes, the L.A. County Coroner's office will in fact perform an autopsy on Murphy.

Murphy's mom apparently told paramedics that Brittany had a history of diabetes. It is unclear if that's true, or if it contributed to her death in some way.

UPDATE, 9:45 p.m. EST: According to the L.A. County Coroner's Office, foul play is not suspected at this time. Some prescriptions were found in the house (what kinds, we don't know), and they will be examined in addition to the autopsy.

The toxicology tests will likely take several weeks.

According to reports, Brittany Murphy was fired from an upcoming film that was shooting in Puerto Rico for being difficult on set and a detriment to production.

We're not sure which film, but Murphy's IMDB profile indicates that this film may have been The Caller, which also stars True Blood cast member Stephen Moyer.

It took about 15 seconds for Brittany to be replaced, too. Twilight and New Moon star Rachelle Lefevre reportedly hopped on a plane as soon as Murphy was out.

A source also says that Brittany was so pissed about getting booted from the film that she didn't want to leave Puerto Rico and had "plans to sabotage the film."

That would qualify her as a Grade A nut job.

Not a good weekend for Brittany Murphy. Or Simon Monjack.

The really interesting part of Brittany's movie set ouster was that the weird British con-artist she married in 2007, Simon Monjack, got into a fight with some locals.

Could there be a connection between the whole Puerto Rico incident and Monjack arriving at LAX airport "incoherent" and having to be hospitalized Saturday?

Murphy thought that Simon Monjack was having an asthma attack, but medical personnel boarding the plane evidently felt it might be even more serious.

Con-jack was released from the hospital last night and even picked up some burgers before heading home, but it makes you wonder ... burgers? Really Simon?!
