Jamie to Britney Spears: Hand Over the Keys!
When he's not performing underwear checks before his daughter leaves the house, Daddy is taking away the keys to some of Britney Spears' cars. Forever.
The court granted the singer's father - her legal conservator while she is treated for bipolar disorder - the power to "sell or dispose of" an undisclosed number of her seven cars on Monday, legal documents have revealed.
Lawyers for Jamie Spears stated that the cost of maintaining the fleet of vehicles was too expensive and that the sale of "a certain number of" Britney's cars "will save substantial expense to the conservatorship estate."
Among Britney Spears' many automobiles are two white Mercedes (a SL65 and a CLK350), a white Mini Cooper convertible, and a black Audi.
Britney Spears doing less driving is probably not a bad idea.
Also on Monday, a court spokesman clarified that the pop star's $1,500 a week allowance "is not her only source of (personal) income."
Further details have not been disclosed at this time.
Britney Spears' father, Jamie Spears, his lawyer, Andrew Wallet, will retain control of her legal and financial affairs until a July 31 hearing.
A restraining order against Sam Lutfi has been upheld until mid-April. The shady one has indicated he may seek to oust the judge in the case.
Jamie Spears Does Underwear Check on Britney
There was an era where you couldn't go a week on The Hollywood Gossip without a Britney Spears crotch shot. Girl seriously hates pants.
Well, Britney Spears' days of going out without any knickers on are a thing of the past â" thanks to father and legal co-conservator Jamie Spears.
According to the Showbiz Spy, Jamie is serious - and personally checks that the singer isn't wearing no underwear before she leaves the house.
Jamie Spears, who is in charge of all his daughter's legal and financial affairs while she receives treatment, is fed up with the star's clothing â" and wants to ensure her no underwear / crotch-flashing days are behind her. The nerve!
Great moments in Britney Spears nipple slip history (circa Spring 2007).
"[Jamie Spears] makes sure to ask Britney if she has underwear on before she goes out," a source close to the family dished.
The singer's personal assistant, Brett, also reportedly checks the pop singer to see if she's wearing no panties and no bra. Sounds like a great job to us.
The source added to the National Enquirer:
"Britney tries to ignore their requests, but her dad is adamant and insists she change if she's falling out of her top."
Tries to ignore their requests? Man, you gotta love Britney Spears... and the celebrity news outlets who come up with stories like this.
Britney Chills with Folks; Sam Lutfi Wants New Judge
Britney Spears joined her mom Lynne and her father Jamie for a bite to eat at the Paradise Cove Beach Café in Malibu, California, last night.
Lynne â" who recently visited the set of CBS' How I Met Your Mother, which will mark Britney's return to TV next week â" threw a coat over her eldest daughter's head to shield her from the swarm of celebrity news photographers.
Monday, Lynne (who is divorced from Jamie Spears) spent time with her two little grandchildren, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 17 months.
Meanwhile, the scourge of Britney Spears' life (and all of humanity), Sam Lutfi, filed papers objecting to the California Superior Court commissioner who ordered him to stay away from Britney Spears for another month.
The document, which was signed by Lutfi, did not reach the courtroom until after Monday's hearing, during which the restraining order barring Sam Lutfi from coming within 250 yards of Britney Spears was extended until April 16.
Sam Lutfi, who Lynne Spears accuses of demanding money from the singer and drugging her, is free to appear in court on April 16 to petition for a new judge.
The bad seed has two previous restraining orders against him for violent verbal and physical attacks for incidents not related to Britney Spears.
Britney Spears Returning to TV on Monday
As we've talked about at length, Britney Spears is making her big return to TV this month and it doesn't involve a disturbingly awful live, MTV VMA performance or a news report about her clubbing in no underwear.
No, instead, Britney will appear on How I Met Your Mother.
In the episode airing March 24, the pop star plays Abby, a dorky secretary at the dermatologist's office. Soon after meeting, Abby becomes smitten with Ted (Josh Radnor). Here's Britney with Josh, and on the cover of TV Guide ...
Britney Spears and How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor make a cute pair!
While shooting the episode, another How I Met Your Mother star, Neil Patrick Harris, was asked how Britney Spears was doing in the role.
"She's been doing well," he said. "Surprisingly, no British accent."Sad that it's about all we can hope for at this stage, but good news just the same!
It's a very good thing that her life appears to have stabilized a bit after a pair of epic meltdowns. We've seen plenty of her boobs and other body parts in the past year, so we're looking forward to peeping Britney Spears on the boob tube March 24.
Cha-Ching! Mark Vincent Kaplan to Make $375K Off Brit
Britney Spears has been ordered to pay $375,000 of Kevin Federline's massive legal bills, according to court documents released Monday.
The scary thing? That's less than his attorney originally sought!
L.A. Court Commissioner Scott Gordon called the billing "reasonable," in part because "the actions of [Britney Spears] caused the majority of litigation."
Last week, the pop star's current lawyer, Stacy Phillips, complained that K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, had over-charged Britney Spears, and asked that Federline be ordered to pay his own legal fees - at least in part.
This is a custody battle, by and large, and family courts have the power to order one party to pay for the other's fees, based on income and needs.

Mark Vincent Kaplan had sought half a million for his representation of the FedEx man so far, but Gordon knocked that number down slightly and ordered Britney to pay $375,000. Still not a shabby payday for the attorney.
Sadly for Britney Spears, it doesn't end there.
Britney's former divorce attorney, Laura Wasser, charged her $164,972 in fees for a span of 10 months as her lawyer. After Wasser quit, Spears hired Trope and Trope to rep her. On their watch, Britney lost custody and visitation of the kids.
Their bill for five months? $685,985.22!
Of course, two mental collapses and consistently bizarre and dangerous antics made it next to impossible for the Commissioner not to strip her of custody.
But come on, that's $685,985.22 better spent on Red Bull, potato chips, booze, blackjack, cars, hookers like Ashley Alexandra Dupre ... just about anything.
Britney Spears Told to Get Up Out Da Club
Well, she didn't actually go to this particular Hollywood hot spot... but she should probably save the effort if she were even thinking about it.
She may be the biggest star in the land, but at one L.A. club, Britney Spears is about as welcome as Heather Mills at Paul McCartney's home.
The pop singer "is not allowed in" to A-list West Hollywood hot spot Villa, co-owner Vincent Laresca told The New York Times Sunday.
"She came twice, but we don't want the media circus that would create," Laresca said of the club, which lists, among other celebrities, Lindsay Lohan, Justin Timberlake, Orlando Bloom and Leonardo DiCaprio as its regulars.

Britney Spears is now more sideshow than show-stopper.
NOTE: Lindsay Lohan is allowed in and Britney Spears is not? Splitting hairs among the Ho Train? What would Paris Hilton's fate be, in that case?
Fortuantely, since her father, Jamie Spears, took over as her co-conservator earlier this year, clubbing in no pants has fallen on Britney's priority list.
Weeding out the bad seeds like Sam Lutfi was probably smart, too. She may not be allowed at Villa, but she stands a better chance of survival.
Step Off: Sam Lutfi Restraining Order Extended Again
Britney Spears' seedy former confidant, Sam Lutfi, has agreed to stay away from the singer for an additional month, according to court papers.
Sam Lutfi must stay two and a half football fields away from Britney Spears at all times and is not allowed any telephone contact with the star.
The restraining order against him was set to expire today.
While no official reason was given for the agreement, it appears that a deal was struck as a way of warding off a courtroom confrontation with Spears' parents.
The court is expected to approve the extension.
Britney Spears' mother, Lynne Spears, previously accused Lutfi of drugging and verbally abusing her daughter. Los Angeles police are investigating.

Depending on evidence presented regarding Sam Lutfi in court, a restraining order can be extended for up to five years, legal experts have said.
In Osama Lutfi's absence, Britney Spears appears to be getting her life back on track slowly but surely - thanks to dad Jamie Spears' controlling influence.
Brit recently filmed a guest appearance on CBS' How I Met Your Mother and is now allowed multiple monitored visits with her two sons - Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1 â" each week, says a source close to the case.
A source close to the case adds that those visits - agreed to by Spears' ex, Kevin Federline, without the court's involvement - would likely increase over time.
Spears has also been hanging out with Mel Gibson, who along with his kids and wife Robin, has been lending support to the troubled pop singer.
Britney Spears Enjoys Dinner with... Mel Gibson
Just another weekend in the life of Britney Spears.
On Saturday, the troubled singer started the day with a visit from her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, ages 2 and 1, and ended the evening at a Russian restaurant for a dinner meeting with ... Mel Gibson!
Once neighbors in an exclusive Malibu community, Britney and Mel were part of a two-hour group dinner at the Romanov restaurant in Studio City.
"It was exciting to have both of them here together," says one restaurant source. "We heard they hit it off and that Britney seemed excited."
Clad in jeans, a green top and boots and chewing gum, a pleasant and upbeat Britney Spears arrived at the Romanov restaurant with her friend Victoria.
Mel Gibson, joined by a few friends, soon met them in the restaurant's private dining room, which features a 24-karat gold leaf ceiling.
For two hours the group dined on filet mignon and Russian specialties, and drank water and soft drinks. No booze for Britney Spears or Mel Gibson!
Leaving the restaurant for her Studio City home around 8:15, Spears "looked happy," says an observer, "so it seems the meeting was a success."
Why exactly did Spears and Gibson meet up? TMZ says Mel, his wife Robin and their kids reached out and began seeing Britney during her darkest days.
Robin and Mel Gibson feel like they know how tough it is to live in a fishbowl and they think they can help Spears. There have been private dinners in which Mel, Robin and their kids have hooked up with Britney to offer support.
At Romanov's last night, Mel and Britney did not walk in or out together - Gibson, unlike most other celebrities, apparently isn't into splashing his good deeds in the media. Here's a video of them courtesy of Hollywood TV...
UCLA Medical Center Fires 13 Employees, Suspends Six Others For Peeping Britney Spears' Medical Records
UCLA Medical Center is taking steps to fire at least 13 employees and has already suspended at least six others for snooping in the confidential medical records of troubled singer Britney Spears during her recent hospitalization.
In addition, six physicians at the California facility face discipline for peeking at her computerized records, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Officials acknowledged that it was not the first time UCLA had disciplined its own workers for looking at Britney Spears' medical records.
Several were caught prying into records after Spears gave birth to her first son, Sean Preston, in September 2005 at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital. Some of those involved were fired.
"It's not only surprising, it is very frustrating and very disappointing," Jeri Simpson, the Santa Monica hospital's director of human resources, said.

Security guards stand outside UCLA Medical Center January 31, after Britney Spears had been admitted for treatment of her bipolar disorder.
"I feel like we do everything that we possibly can to ensure the privacy of our patients and I know we feel horrible that it happened again."
Simpson, who handled the discipline in the first case, said UCLA treats celebrities "all the time and you never hear about this ... I don't know what it is about this particular person, I don't know what it is about [Britney Spears]."
Hoping to prevent this, UCLA officials sent a memo the morning Britney Spears was hospitalized on January 31, reminding employees that they were not allowed to peruse medical records unless directly caring for a patient.
Britney Spears was not specifically mentioned.

Britney Spears: Bored Senseless
For six weeks, OK! Magazine reports, Britney Spears has been grounded by her dad, Jamie Spears, in a desperate measure to save her life.
As part of her dad's restrictions, the 26-year-old star is no longer allowed to hit the clubs in no underwear, hang out with her paparazzi pals or make frequent, erratic stops at gas stations, fast-food joints and public bathrooms.
Which is sad, in a way. It's the end of an era.
In any case, there could be worse places to be holed up than her $7.2 million, 7,400-square-foot Mediterranean-style villa in Studio City, Calif, right?
One would think.
Some friends of the the singer tell OK! Magazine that Britney recently snuck a text message to them saying, "I'm so bored. I hate my life."
A typical day with Britney Spears includes spending hours alone in her bedroom, which is "like a princess' room with several walk-in closets and a spa tub, plus a long counter where she used to keep all her wigs."

Papa Jamie Spears, who stays in a room downstairs, leaves her be when she's up in her private suite. Since she's no longer allowed to go out, the pop star now spends hours in front of the mirror trying on different outfits.
"Changing clothes all day long must seem harmless enough, so her dad doesn't interfere with that," a friend of Britney Spears explains to OK!
