We now pause from breaking Jamie Lynn Spears baby news to report another Spears family development - and one you likely didn't expect.

Apparently, Britney Spears is busy working on an upcoming album, her vocal producer and co-writer, Jim Beanz, reports this morning.

The singer, 26, has had her share of drama in the past year, to say the least. But in April, former manager Larry Rudolph reconnected with the singer in April and reported that she already had been going into the studio "just for fun."

"She is on the right path," Rudolph reported.

Body-wise, at least, Britney Spears does appear on the right path. Hot!

How will Britney Spears' new efforts compare to her last album - and for the love of all things holy, will she subject us to more dreadful live performances?

You know how much we love your two boys Jayden James and Sean Preston - they are two of our all-time favorite celebrity babies, in fact.

Officials say they will not file charges against Britney Spears stemming from a 2007 incident in which she drove over the foot of a celebrity news guy while speeding out of the doctor's office where she received collagen injections, natch.

The reasoning? The only way the dude's foot could have been where a celeb news video showed it to be was if he himself had put it there.

Deputy district attorney Joseph Shidler told the press:

"We have no evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the suspect, Ms. Britney Spears, was at all aware that the victim's foot had in fact been struck by the vehicle. There was much commotion and noise at the time and there is no proof that the suspect was aware of what had happened."

The Deputy D.A. added "The only way the victim's foot could have been where the video indicates was by the victim placing it in that location."

With this legal monkey off her back, Britney is free to once again terrorize greater Los Angeles County at will, should she feel a craving for Starbucks.

Troubled singer Britney Spears may be ready to move out of her place in the Hollywood Hills - to become a full-fledged Valley girl - Calabasas style, baby.

There are two sets of guard gates keeping Britney Spears' potential new 'hood from the common folk (and celebrity gossip photographers), so her father / protector, Jamie Spears, is surely happy about the idea.

Lynne Spears, mother of Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears, has always been known for her deep desire to cash in commitment to strong parenting.

Her memoir - yes, her f*%king memoir - which was delayed last winter amid Jamie Lynn getting knocked up at 16, will be now released this fall.

Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World is the title. We're serious. Sorry, we're a little thrown off by this.

The book will chronicle Lynne Spears' pimping out raising of Britney, 26, and Jamie Lynn, 17, and how she ruined their lives for the sake of money groomed them into stars while coming from small-town Louisiana.

"When Jamie Lynn Spears got pregnant, the book was put on hold," a representative for Spears' publisher, Thomas Nelson Inc., said.

"But Lynne never stopped working on it because she wants to express her love for CA$H her children and tell their stories through her eyes."

"[It] will not be a parenting book," the rep said of the book, which was originally set to be titled simply Pop Culture Mom.

"It's [Lynne Spears] telling her story of what it was like being a mom and raising two very famous people. It's a memoir."

This book should come with a noose - if you buy it, there's really no point in going on. At least the weather's warm where Lynne's going.
