Has Britney Spears finally crossed the line?

Over the years, the pop star has sang about orgasms ("Breathe On Me"); uncontrollable sexual urges ("I'm A Slave 4 U); and straight up, hardcore intercourse ("If You Seek Amy").

With her latest single - released today off her upcoming album, The Singles Collection - Spears continues this sex motif with "3," a song whose lyrics are entirely focused on orgies and threesomes. To wit:

Babe, pick a night
To come out and play
If it's alright
What do you say?

1, 2, 3
Not only you and me

Merrier the more
Triple fun that way
Twister on the floor
What do you say?

We say: enough! Britney turns 28 in December. She has two kids at home and legions of young fans across the nation. Must every song be sexual in nature? Will Spears ever grow up and stop singing about casual sexual encounters?

Another line from "3" states: Livin’ in sin is the new thing.

Really, Britney? It is? Is that the message you want Jayden and Sean to hear when they grow up and turn on your CD? Listen to the single below and then vote in our poll:

Is this Britney song too dirty?

Britney Spears wrapped up the U.S. leg of her Circus Tour last night in true Britney fashion.

No, she didn't shave her head, endanger any children or have an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.

Instead, Spears invited a male audience member on stage and seduced him with a lap dance; this time, though, we doubt it took: the special guest, as seen below, was Lance Bass!

Britney and Lance

Bass got an eyeful during the singer's rendition of "Breathe on Me." Fans in attendance say he smiled and sang along throughout the song. Wrote Britney on her official website:

My good friend Lance surprised me on stage last night for Breathe On Me. It was soooo funny!  Good to see you Lance!

The night before, Miley Cyrus and Melanie Brown caught Britney's concert. Neither of them appeared on stage, though.

Next, the pop star likely heads to Starbucks tonight at 2 a.m. Then, she heads Down Under for a string of dates in Australia in November.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline will share 50-50 custody of their sons Sean Preston and Jayden James through the end of this year, and likely beyond.

An L.A. County Superior Court judge extended the order that was initially put in place earlier this year for the purposes of Britney Spears' Circus tour.

Under the terms, Britney gets to travel with Sean Preston and Jayden James and must provide the FedEx man with a place to stay if he wants to come with.

The sealed order is more detailed, but the long and short of it is that Britney Spears gets minimum 50-50 custody and at times even more. Hooray!

As for Kevin, in addition to the $20,000 a month Britney pays him in child support, he gets up to $25,000 a month when the kids are outside California.

That'll by a lot of steaks for the Celebrity Fit Club star.

At the end of the year the judge will reevaluate custody, but it is looking like the 50-50 arrangement is the way of the future. K-Fed has not stood in the way of Britney Spears' efforts to see the kids since she's gotten better.

Britney and K-Fed seem to be on the same page. Well, in terms of custody of the kids. Certainly not in terms of talent or diet. [Photos: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com]

In other Britney Spears news, the celebrity gossip photographer whose foot she ran over with a car back in 2007 is still looking to cash in on it.

Shutterbug Ricardo Mendoza, who fell victim to the tire of Britney Spears' Mercedes in 2007, has updated his accusation against the pop star.

When Mendoza sued her for assault, battery and negligence back in May, the damages were unspecified. But now, they're specified: Mendoza wants $195,000 in general damages, $16,533 for medical bills and $10,000 for future foot problems.

Hey, might as well milk it while you're at it.

Mendoza, who was clicking away for TMZ at the time of the incident, let the website auction off the treaded-upon sock he was wearing two years ago.

Someone bought it, too. For $585. Amazing.

Meanwhile, Britney's busy concluding the North American leg of her wildly successful Circus tour before she heads off to Australia in November.

In music history, few acts have moved more units than Britney Spears.

We're talking about album sales, not that she hasn't moved a fair share of units in other ways, if you know what me mean. Just not 80 million of 'em.

It's hard to believe, given her current status as redeemed train wreck, but Britney has now been around and cranking out hit music for a full decade.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of her debut on the scene, Jive Records is releasing Britney Spears: The Singles Collection on November 24.

To help launch the special package, a brand new Britney single entitled "3," which she just recorded with Max Martin, will debut Tuesday, September 29.

There will be two configurations of The Singles Collection:

  1. The standard version, which will contain 17 of Britney Spears' chart topping favorites along with the new song "3," all on one totally awesome CD.
  2. The ultimate fan box set version, containing all 29 of singer's singles, including the new "3." You also get a book of cool Britney Spears photos.

During her stellar 10 year career, Britney has had five albums debut at the #1 spot on the Billboard Top 100 Album Chart, as well as 23 (23!) Top 40 hits.

Britney is currently touring in support of her most recent studio album Circus. The Circus tour started in her home state of Louisiana in March 2009.

It had been too long. It had just been too long.

We hadn't heard much from The Circus Starring Britney Spears in so long, we were starting to wonder if its ridiculous outfits, lip-synched tracks and wardrobe malfunctions had ceased to exist. We are pleased to say we were wrong.

And fortunately, there were no "You Oughta Know" covers.

The show rolled into Bossier City, La., on Saturday, and while even Louisiana native Britney probably had no idea where she was, she looked awesome ...

SEEING RED: Britney brings the house down in her home state.

It's amazing to think where she was less than two years ago. That would be a psych ward. Now she's back on top with one of the year's biggest albums and tours.

We often critique stars who won't sing in concert ... or at all. But perhaps at a certain point, lip synching isn't the most terrible concept ever created.

Britney Spears attempted to pull off a cover of Alanis Morissette's classic "You Oughta Know" during her concert Saturdya night in Greensboro, N.C.

The jury's still out on whether it was actually pulled off. Or if any fans were ejected for risque dancing. Man, this song makes you wanna lose yourself.

While it was by no means good, we admire her chutzpah, and the superstar's choice of song. Better than covering a Lady Gaga track or something.

Did Britney nail it? Or should she oughta know better than to try to sing? Check it out and see ... and pray Heidi Montag doesn't copy her hero next:

Britney Spears' shows at Madison Square Garden are getting absolutely panned by the press, as she's apparently mailing in dance moves and lip-syncing even worse than usual, relying on flashy lights and costume changes to get by.

Well, the crowd is still getting riled up by something.

Security had to remove three fans from the aisles of the New York City arena after other fans complained that they were dancing too provocatively.

Yes, fans complained about risque dancing. At a Britney Spears concert. Apparently her shows are G-rated and not at all based around her sexuality.

One ousted fan, Sandra Ion, said, “I guess there had been a complaint from someone in our section that our dancing was too risque. Meanwhile, Britney is onstage gyrating half-naked and singing ‘Get Naked.’ It was totally ridiculous."

"They should have just moved whoever complained instead of all of us.”

Britney Spears shows often involve scenes like this. They are true family events, which is probably why three fans were ejected Tuesday night for "suggestive" dancing.

No details on what Sandra and her friends specifically did to get the boot from security, but we wonder how it could possibly have been worse than:

Either way, her handlers should consider enlisting these fans as backup dancers to liven up the painfully boring concerts lately. Spice it up, Britney!

In a new promo for the upcoming MTV VMAs, host Russell Brand tries to convince Britney Spears to sleep with him using old-fashioned mental telepathy.

Really, what guy hasn't tried that over the past 10 years?

In the clip, a bikini-clad Britney Spears hears voices in her head, kinda like in 2007 during her British accent phase. Only this time, it's Russell Brand's.

The zany British comic, who can also hear her thoughts, responds telepathically with "Go to Russell's hotel room. Abandon yourself! Sleep with Russell!"

Direct, but unfortunately for him, probably not effective.

Funny, though. Check out their MTV promo below ...

After taking kids Jayden James and Sean Preston on a ride around Central Park, Britney Spears played the first of three shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City last night. Needless to say, the ring leader has not missed a beat.

Here's Britney steaming up the stage in more ways than one ...

CALLIN' THE SHOTS: Let there be no doubt who the ring leader is.

Prior to the show, was spotted around the Big Apple giving out tickets to her concert. Britney then delighted the NYC masses with numerous costume changes and her hit songs as the exuberant crowd went absolutely wild.

Britney Spears took her sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline, for a pedicab ride through famed Central Park in New York City yesterday.

The buzz cuts look a lot better on them than on her.

Something about Britney always looks so natural when handling the children, like she's been put on Earth to raise children and her instincts are so strong...

Britney Spears and her boys have a blast in New York.

Crazily, Sean Preston and Jayden James both celebrate birthdays next month, and will turn 4 and 3 respectively. It's pretty bonkers that it's been that long.

Glad to see them all happy, hanging out and doing so well, however. These are good days. Click to enlarge more Sean, Jayden and Britney Spears photos ...

Britney Spears Quotes

I miss it here so much! I love it so much! It makes me it's kinda like bittersweet coming here because I used to live here for two years. And when I come here, it's like, man, I wish I had my apartment here still.

MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs?
