Bristol Palin wants to make it clear: her son has a potty mouth, not a homophobic mouth.

Following a clip from her reality show that made the Internet rounds yesterday and certainly appeared as if three-year old Tripp Palin referred to his aunt with a gay slur, Bristol has taken to her blog and explained the situation.

"As I've said before, I sometimes struggle to raise Tripp. However, he does NOT use slurs.. Let me be clear. I'm not proud of what he did say. Sadly, he used a different 'f word.'"

Life's a Tripp showrunner Matt Lutz backs up this account, while Bristol - being a Palin - couldn't open her online mouth without taking a shot at Democrats.

"I do oppose gay marriage, as I've written about before... I guess the temptation to label my three year old son is just too great for the lefty papers to resist."

Either that, or possibly viewers considered Bristol's history with homophobia and drew a not-so-far-fetched conclusion.

No one watches Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp on Lifetime.

So the attention-starved daughter of a failed Vice Presidential Candidate and less-than-one-term Governor was probably hoping the following clip would not create any kind of stir.

But on last night's episode, three-year old Tripp was being disciplined by his mother and his aunt and responded to their attempts by lashing out... with a gay slur.

Watch now and try to decide which is the most appalling: Tripp actually knowing the word; Bristol laughing over his use of it; or Bristol's earlier comment about "God watching," for which she also could not keep a straight face:

We wonder: where might Tripp Palin have learned this language?

UPDATE: Showrunner Matt Lutz tells Gawker that Tripp dropped the F bomb, not the F word used for a gay slur. You can watch the video and try to decipher for yourself.

Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp is so unpopular, it can't even beat a RERUN of Dance Moms on Lifetime. So it's been pushed to 11 p.m., according to reports.

Lifetime will now be airing a new Dance Moms episode at 9 p.m. Tuesdays, followed by a repeat at 10 p.m. in Bristol's old slot, then Palin afterward.

The season premiere of Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp aired June 19 to abysmal ratings and worse reception from critics. It may be the worst show ever.

Bristol Palin Book Signing

It eked out a total audience of 726,000 viewers, many of whom probably hated it pretty bad, and a meager 0.2 rating in the key 18-49 demographic.

The show follows the daughter of former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin as she lives in an L.A. mansion and volunteers for charity.

Bristol Palin also rides a mechanical bull and so forth.

She brings along little Tripp, of course, her son by Levi Johnston, who turned down money to appear on the show because it's too bad for even him.

What's more, Kyle Massey, Bristol's former friend and DWTS co-star, is suing Lifetime claiming he created the idea and was screwed out of the project.

You might not want to claim credit for this debacle, K.

Bristol Palin is saving herself for marriage, she says.

After she's already had a kid, but you know, live and learn. Despite seemingly being the worst-ever abstinence advocate for obvious reasons, she's determined to promote that cause, saying that being a teen mom was way too hard.

“My sister Willow is 17, and when I was her age, I was eight months pregnant, and I look at her and I think, ‘Holy cow, I was just a baby!’” she reflects.

“I don’t care what your background is, it’s so hard.”

Now 21, Bristol Palin is determined to walk down the aisle before she even contemplates having another child - or even consummating relations with a man.

“Gino and I are going to wait until marriage,” she says of Giacinto “Gino” Paoletti, her boyfriend of several years. “I’m doing what’s best for me."

"It’s between me and God, and I know it’s right.”

Bristol, whose new reality show Life's a Tripp premiered this week to terrible reviews and ratings, beams when she says “I have the cutest kid in the world.”

On the flip side, “Since I have this platform, I want to use it for good ... I want to let girls know that this isn’t ideal, this isn’t fun, this isn’t easy.”

By pledging abstinence, Bristol Palin is ...

Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp was not a trip taken by many.

Ratings for the premiere of Lifetime‘s new reality show were as bad as the quality on screen, drawing an underwhelming 726,000 total viewers, Deadline reports.

The series starring Sarah Palin’s daughter, which aired against MTV powerhouse Teen Mom, fell dramatically from its lead-in, Dance Moms, which drew 1.8 million.

Dance Moms also posted 992,000 watchers in the 18-49 age range, whereas Life’s A Tripp drew only 250,000 ... on top of its universally negative reviews.

Bristol and Tripp

The point of the show is very much unclear, but it will continue to follow Bristol Palin and her son every Tuesday until Lifetime mercifully pulls the plug.

Levi Johnston probably made the right move in turning down a chance to be on this ... you don't want to lower yourself to the entertainment basement.

Levi Johnston was reportedly offered $10,000 to appear on his ex-fiancee's new reality show, Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp, but declined, according to a new report.

As such, Bristol Palin has refused to let her baby daddy see their son.

“Levi saw Tripp twice in January and shortly after that, Bristol’s people offered him about $10,000 to appear on one episode [of her show],” Sunny Oglesby says.

Yes, Sunny Oglesby ... Levi's current pregnant girlfriend.

“It’s clear they thought it would boost the ratings, but Levi wants nothing to do with it,” Sunny Oglesby, seven months pregnant, said of the show.

Sarah Palin’s daughter subsequently turned on Levi Johnston out of spite, Sunny claims, adding that Levi is working hard to support and see the boy.

“Bristol got so angry after he refused that she hasn’t let Levi see or talk to Tripp since,” she alleges, “She’s ignored Levi’s pleas to see his son."

"It got to the point where she simply changed her number."

Regarding his new family, Sunny says Levi is now officially done with the showbiz: “He’s through with Hollywood and happy to be back home in Alaska.”

If you read our recap of Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp, you know we thought it was terrible on every level. Well, it turns out Kyle Massey is even more steamed than the public, claiming it was his idea and he was screwed over by Lifetime!

Kyle, his brother Chris Massey and their mother Angela have sued the producers, charging that the Masseys came up with the concept and started shooting a series that involved themselves and Bristol, only to be cut out and uncompensated.

Bristol was not named as a defendant in the 31-page lawsuit.

"It is unfortunate that after months of trying to resolve this matter the professional way, we were left with no other course of action than taking legal action to protect ourselves," Angela Massey said in a statement announcing the legal claim.

"If you read the entire complaint, and particularly pages 8-11, you will see how we came up with and created the show, registered the show and did all the leg work to bring this idea to TV and to the defendants, who stole our concept."

Originally titled Helping Hands, the show was to feature Bristol Palin, who was allegedly dating Kyle Massey, moving in together with her son Tripp.

Bristol Palin's new reality show, Life's a Tripp, premiered last night, and regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, it was terrible in every respect.

The problem is not that Bristol is the daughter of Sarah Palin, it's that she comes across as a caricature; a TV personality, but not a real person by any means.

It's also entirely unclear who the project is aimed at. Uninteresting and brazenly clueless about life and the world around her, BP is not an engaging heroine.

Life's a Tripp is basically like The Hills, Jersey Shore and The Real Housewives of Orange County combined, without the self-awareness of any of the above.

Let's break it down, THG +/- style, and see how:

Bristol Palin Riding

Bristol announces the concept of her show - moving to L.A. to work for a charity, getting out of her comfort zone, etc. - and sounds 100 rehearsed. Minus 20.

Also, Tripp is three. How is this "life experience" for him? Minus 10. Good thing younger sister Willow came along too. Who needs a job or school, right?

Sarah Palin sighting! The Mama Grizzly references The Beverly Hillbillies. Is that what this is supposed to be a takeoff on? We're still unclear, but Plus 5.

Never mind that Bristol is already famous enough to live in Beverly Hills, and acts entitled, like she belongs there, no matter what she might say. Minus 5.

The ladies announce that they are staying in one of their “parents’ friends’ houses” ... which is a giant mansion. Very real and down-to-Earth, girls. Minus 5.

“People are a lot more into their image here than in Alaska.” - Bristol Palin, on a show named after and detailing the struggles of Bristol Palin. Minus 430.

The heckler caught on tape harassing Bristol Palin at a bar last fall is apparently suing Lifetime for putting the altercation on her new reality show.

She was riding a mechanical bull when Stephen Hanks began heckling Bristol Palin, yelling, "Did you ride Levi like that," "Your mother is a whore," etc.

Palin confronted him, asking if he didn't like Sarah because he is "a homosexual." Things got headed, but afterward, Hanks apologized to Palin.

But now he's suing for defamation, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress and misappropriation of right of publicity.

Hanks' attorney, Michael Gulden, says no one ever asked Hanks to sign a release for the footage to be used on Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp.

The video (above) has been online ever since the altercation and has been viewed nearly a million times. Still, he's seeking damages in court.

"He felt this was the only way he could protect his rights," Gulden says, adding, Hanks was "simply a patron at the bar" where this went down.

Lifetime says it has "no comment" because it is a legal issue.

Bristol Palin's new show, which she says shows a "normal" and "grounded" side of her, premieres Tuesday. Check out some Life's a Tripp photos.

Lifetime has released some promotional pictures for Bristol Palin's new reality show, and doggone it, she looks like such a grounded, normal mom!

Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp (get it?!) premieres on June 19 with two (!) episodes. Here's one awesome reason why you should check it out, too.

Behold, Bristol riding a mechanical bull. She's so fun!

Bristol Palin Riding

This pic was taken, of course, during the infamous incident where Bristol was asked if she rides Levi like that (hilarious) and then got all up in the face of a heckler who said some really vile things about her mom (not hilarious).

Through it all, Life's a Tripp will document the ups and downs of Sarah Palin's daughter as she adjusts to life in L.A. with her young son, Tripp.

"Giving viewers a unique look at the difficult decisions she makes for relationships and family," Lifetime says, will testify to Palin's resolve.
