Any reality show that stars Bret Michaels is an exercise in ridiculousness and hilarity.

But the rocker's health is now a serious matter: After complaining of a headache last night, the singer was rushed to a hospital and diagnosed with a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem).

Michael is in critical condition.

"After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation," a source told People.

Michaels went through an emergency appendectomy in San Antonio on April 12. There's little medical reason why this development would be related to that procedure.

We wish Bret a speedy recovery.

** UPDATE: A statement on Bret's site reads: “There are several incorrect reports on Bret’s condition. Bret remains in critical condition at an undisclosed location. Further tests are being ran and information will be updated in the coming days.”

When Bret Michaels hilariously knocked himself silly at the 2009 Tony Awards, he was embarrassed and angry.

Following his hospitalization for an appendectomy last week, however, the walking STD rocker is just grateful to be alive.

"They told me that if I had gone onstage like I wanted to, [my appendix] likely would have ruptured and I could have died," the Celebrity Apprentice contestant wrote this weekend on his blog.

Michaels added that he has a "pretty good threshold for pain," but "getting your appendix out HURTS."

That seems obvious, but remember: this is the same person who didn't comprehend why his duet with Miley Cyrus was utterly inappropriate.

In the blog entry, Michaels thanks his fans for their cards, gifts and well wishes. He also answers the most important question of all:

"Yes, there are hot nurses taking care of me, in case you were curious."

Bret Michaels is no strangers to doctors. Typically when he schedules an appointment to see them, however, it's due to a burning sensation when he urinates.

That wasn't the case on Sunday night, as the rocker couldn't make it through a concert in San Antonio. He was rushed to the hospital with stomach pains and underwent an emergency appendectomy.

Fortunately, all went smoothly. Bret "remains in the hospital, is doing well and beginning the recovery process," his rep says. He can resume inappropriate duets with 17-year olds some time in the near future.

While the former Poison frontman "has been known to perform under extreme conditions," his rep added, the insider also said his client will "have no choice but to reschedule some of his April tour dates."

Michaels is looking at bed rest over the next few days. But lying between the sheets, in an uncomfortable position, is nothing new for the singer. There's just a promiscuous, drunk female underneath him most times.

As Justin Gaston and Liam Hemsworth can attest to, Miley Cyrus has always been a hit with older men.

But the same can now be said for dirty older man, as both Bret Michaels and Donald Trump (who can be seen together on the latest edition of Celebrity Apprentice when it debuts on March 14) have nothing but positive things to say about the singer.

"[She's a] young pop superstar who actually has the talent," said Michaels, who has collaborated with Miley on a creepy duet. "When you're a star like that you've got to take the lumps that come with it and form nerves of steel. The girl can sit down and play the guitar, the piano and sing... I think she's going to break through. I see that realness in her as a musician."

Hold on tightly, Liam Hemsworth. You aren't the only older guy pining over Miley Cyrus.

Added Trump:

"I don't know Miley but I think she's really got the It factor... She is fantastic. I watched her on one of the talk shows and, I mean, she is like a 30-year-old woman."

Would Trump consider Cyrus for a future installment of Celebrity Apprentice?

"I'd love to," he said. "Wouldn't that be nice?"

On Rock of Love, Bret Michaels had more sex with desperate groupies than Heidi Montag has had plastic surgery procedures.

As a result, it shouldn't be hard to grasp the controversy surrounding the rocker's duet with 17-year old Miley Cyrus, especially when the lyrics on "Nothing to Lose" include:

We both know better than this/Still we can't resist/Slowly get undressed/Won't you fall down on me/So close I can feel you breathe.

Still, when asked about the scandalous song, Michaels told Us Weekly "it's blown out of proportion." He elaborated, explaining how the duet came about:

"[Miley's] like, 'This is an incredible song, it's beautiful. Maybe I could [add] some stuff to it, some harmonies,'" Bret said. "She was excited that she didn't have to follow any rules."

As for telling a girl that's not yet old enough to vote to "slowly get undressed?"

"I never sat down and said, 'Look at the content. Look at the lyrical content,'" Michaels said. "The part where it says she slowly gets undressed, Miley says, 'Yeah she does.' It has no reference to her and I. It's not even a duet."

In conclusion, the long-haired reality star makes no apologies:

"As God is my witness, there is nothing I have to be defensive about. I'm a good dad. I just thought it was a beautiful song."

It's not bad. We just hope Miley showered multiple times the day they recorded it together.

Note to Miley Cyrus: We know we've had our differences and THG isn't your biggest fan on the planet. But please take this piece of advice:

Get an STD test... stat!

As the following picture and video prove, you've officially shared the same air with Bret Michaels, a reality TV star whose had more sex with groupies on VH1's Rock of Love than his former band, Poison, had number-one hits.

For reasons we'll never comprehend, Miley and Michaels have collaborated on a new single titled “Nothing to Lose.” During the track, the long-haired skank-banger teams with Cyrus on the chorus. It goes:

Won't you fall down on me/So close I can feel you breathe/Tonight in the darkness with nothing to lose/If the truth is all we can see/If I fall for you, could you fall for me?

Ummm... is that really appropriate for a 17-year to be singing with a dirty, washed-up, sex-crazed rocker?

“Bret and I had a great time in the studio together just hanging out and making music,” Miley said. “He’s is so passionate about music and it shows. I think it is such a rad collaboration because it shows that two artists that seem so different on the outside can come together and organically create something that we are both proud of.”

Bret Michaels may not be Liza Minnelli, but when you prick him - or lower a piece of scenery down on his head - the man still bleeds.

A few days after the hilarious accident that broke his nose, the rocker is speaking out against the awards show and its seeming indifference to his injuries.

On his website, Michaels wrote: "I feel had this incident happened to Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton or Elton John, the Tonys would have at least issued a letter of concern."

In the statement, the Poison lead singer claims he got dazed and bloodied during the incident, but "the full extent of his injuries remains to be seen until all x-rays are back."

The same can be said for his future on reality TV. What promiscuous, insecure, drunken suitors will wanna sleep with a washed-up rock star with a crooked nose? (Answer: all of them.)

Just when it seemed as though nothing could be funnier than the concept of the rocker finding love on a reality series that locked a slew of skanks inside a tour bus and challenged each to get as drunk and naked as possible on a nightly basis, Michaels almost knocked himself unconscious at last night's Tony Awards.

The long-haired singer's band, Poison, took to the stage alongside the cast of Broadway's Rock of Ages.

The performance went smoothly, until Michaels clotheslined himself on a piece of scenery soon after the rendition of "Nothin' But a Good Time" concluded. It's even more hilarious to watch than read about:

Fortunately, he'll have Taya Parker on his side for at least a couple more days. She can either nurse him back to health or give him a burning sensation in another body part that ought to make him forget about the pain in his head.
