Angelina Jolie has spent plenty of time in Washington, D.C., as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, but yesterday, she visited the White House with Brad Pitt.

There, they enjoyed a private meeting with President Barack Obama!

The leader of the free world and Hollywood's most famous couple dissected the New Hampshire primary. Kidding. They discussed a cause dear to Angelina's heart ...

The plight of women caught up in war zones - such as the one depicted in her film The Land of Blood and Honey - and how the U.S. can get involved combating mass violence against civilians in troubled areas was Brangelina's reason for visiting.

Pitt, who has consulted with Obama regarding his plans for the redevelopment of New Orleans' hurricane-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward, talked about that as well.

You have to respect the couple's commitment to these causes. No word on whether Secret Service confiscated Brad Pitt's cane before he met with Obama.

Being injured is worth it if it the children are okay.

That's how Brad Pitt summed up his recent injury at the Palm Springs International Film Festival gala this weekend, explaining to the press corps that he hurt himself when he suffered a fall while carrying daughter Vivienne.

The upshot: Viv is fine. He walks with a cane now:

"When [Maddox] was younger, I took a fall and cracked my elbow because I wanted to make sure he didn't have the fall," said Angelina Jolie, by his side.

"Every parent has injured themselves at some point," the father of six added. "Every parent will stand in the line of fire for their kids so it's a normal thing."

So is Brad milking the injury at home?

"He's not that kind of guy," she said. "He does everything still."

"I'm proud of him every single day," Jolie said of Pitt, who was presented the Desert Palm Achievement Award by his Moneyball co-star Jonah Hill.

Get well soon, Brad. But nice cane man.

Wow. The tabloids are starting off 2012 with a bang.

Taking the art of fabricating scandals about Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston to new heights, Star claims Ange temporarily left Brad after finding out that he made a baby with Jen ... which she miscarried ... in 2004 ... while married to Brad.

Seriously, they printed this. A "reliable source" said:

"She assumed all along she was the only woman Brad had ever impregnated. Now Angie is questioning everything, including whether she can ever trust Brad again."

That has her thinking of leaving him for good, supposedly. Maybe.

"Brad doesn’t tell Angie everything, especially when it comes to Jen," adds the source. "The mention of Jen makes Angie completely irrational." (That part we buy.)

"But he never imagined this would infuriate Angie to the extent that it has. Now it could spell the end of them forever." Brutal, there's no other way to describe it.

It gets better, incredibly. The National Enquirer says, simultaneously, that in related news ... Angelina Jolie is pregnant right now! In a startling development ...

When Brad Pitt lifted a glass of sparkling wine and toasted Angelina Jolie at Hollywood’s Magnolia restaurant Dec. 8, was he saluting more than her directorial debut?

Almost definitely not.

Still, if you believe what you read in OK!, six kids is not enough for the Brangelina brood. Unquestionably, Brad n' Ange are looking to fix that problem in a hurry:

They want a new baby in 2012.

“She jokes about triplets constantly. And she’s not a big joker, really,” says a supposed  confidante. “She and Brad have talked at length. She’ll have another child.”

"There is no doubt."

Well that settles it. The director of In the Land of Blood and Honey did leave the door open, telling Marie Claire, “Nothing is planned.... I could end up pregnant.”

Brad, too, let slip that Brangelina may have baby #7 someday. May have. Someday. “I don’t know that we’re finished. I don’t know,” he said on 60 Minutes.

The only obstacle? Angie may be taking a risk with her health.

“It’s very serious. She’s had two very high-risk pregnancies," says the source. "Both times, her blood pressure shot up, and she developed gestational diabetes."

"I don’t know if she could survive a third round.”

One of the coolest guys ever, the incomparable Brad Pitt, celebrated his 48th birthday on Sunday. Give it up for the award-winning actor, father, humanitarian and certified hunk!

What to give the man who has everything?

The Moneyball star had a terrific birthday weekend, as it turned out. He was joined by longtime love Angelina Jolie and their six children in Las Vegas on Saturday night to experience the Michael Jackson The Immortal, the Cirque Du Soleil touring show.

"They had great seats, sitting right beside the stage," a source said. "They really seemed to enjoy the show. The performers didn't know they were coming, and a few of them recognized them while they were on stage, so it was pretty exciting."

After giving a standing ovation, Pitt, donning round glasses, Jolie, wearing a light grey dress, and the children left just as the Cirque Du Soleil cast gave final bows.

The family spent the night at the lavish Four Seasons. Sounds awesome.

Angelina Jolie gushes over her family in the new issue of Marie Claire, and while the star is thrilled with life as it is, she and Brad Pitt haven't ruled out having more kids.

"Nothing planned at the moment, but we just don't know. I could end up pregnant," Jolie says, prompting quick and endless speculation, not unlike their non-weddings.

But will a seventh addition to the Brangelina brood really come to pass?

It just might. According to the Oscar winner, who makes her directorial debut with In the Land of Blood and Honey, the life she's built with Pitt has taught selflessness.

"I suppose what I've learned from Brad is to be able to have the kind of family whose happiness and well-being comes before your own," she says in the interview.

"I'm very, very grateful to have such a loving family, and I wouldn't have that without him. He is not just the love my life, he is my family. I hold that very dear."

Sounds like someone's priorities are clearly aligning with their partner, and they both value children more than anything, so ... she could end up pregnant for sure.

Angelina Jolie is making the media rounds for her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, but the mom of six tackles difficult subjects in real life as well as on film.

The actress, 36, and her partner Brad Pitt, 47, are trying to balance their busy careers with raising Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5 and Knox and Vivienne, 3.

Like us, the brood is getting more curious about their marital status by the year ...

When Nightline asked if she has plans to marry Brad. Her response: "The kids asked me the other day and I asked if it was just because they wanted to have a big cake."

"They see movies that have the people getting married... you know, the happily ever after. Shrek and Fiona are married ... We have explained that our commitment when we decided to start a family was the greatest commitment you could possibly have."

"Once you have six children, you're ... you're committed."

True, in a sense. The couple has offered a number of different explanations for not tying the knot over the years, and despite celebrity gossip reports every few months suggesting a secret wedding is in the works ... none is in the works.

Brad Pitt does it all.

He acts. He has kids with Angelina Jolie. He looks handsome even with that absurd hair. And after a screening of his new film the Cary Grant Theatre in Culver City, Calif., he even helped out a distraught man at a Q&A session with fans.

According to an attendee, a 30-something struggling actor announced to Pitt, Moneyball co-star Jonah Hill and the crowd that he was considering suicide. What did Pitt say?

"It turned into a very awkward moment," the attendee says, adding that the 47-year-old actor got "choked up" as he revealed his own battles to the crowd.

But Pitt didn't flinch.

"He said, 'Look, man, life is up and down, it's a vicious cycle, but you have to go through it and deal with that,'" the observer reveals. "'You can be down, but then you come back up again, and every failure can lead to success.'"

"It was touching. As he left the theater he even stopped to talk with the guy to offer him some more words of encouragement because he was so fragile."

What more is there to say beyond: How cool is Brad Pitt?!

Is Brad Pitt already thinking about retirement and full-time daddy duty?

Maybe, and sooner than you might think. In an interview with Australia's 60 Minutes, the Moneyball star revealed an exit strategy planned for his great career.

It involves the half-century mark. When asked how much longer he would like to keep on acting, the 47-year-old answered fairly succinctly, "Three years."

That doesn't mean he wants to be absent from the industry altogether. But Pitt says he plans to step off-camera and get behind it, if at all, by age 50.

"I'm really enjoying the producing side and development of stories," Pitt says. "Getting the stories to the plate that might have had tougher times otherwise."

Something he may not be ready to say bye to? Procreation! "You know, I don't know that we're finished," Pitt says. "I don't know yet. I don't know."

Even with six children, Pitt says he "obviously" enjoys the chaos and that all the running around, and even the lack of sleep is fine with him right now.

"Those late nights are so fun when one of them's up or those mornings when they get up and make pancakes or something. That's what it's all about."

The former spouses are together again...  at the top of a newly released survey conducted by Fitness magazine. News flash: They have some HOT bodies.

THE hottest among stars over 40, even. That would be a hard point to argue. Aniston absolutely kills it on every red carpet, and Brad Pitt? He's Brad Pitt.
