The morning after Angelina Jolie published an op-ed in The N.Y. Times that revealed her decision to have a double mastectomy, Brad Pitt has issued a statement.

One in which he praises his life partner in no uncertain terms.

"Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie's choice, as well as many others like her, absolutely heroic," he told London's Evening Standard.

"I thank our medical team for their care and focus."

"All I want is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children," said Pitt, with whom she has six. "This is a happy day for our family."

Angelina Jolie has gone public with her choice to undergo a preventative double mastectomy.

In Tuesday's New York Times Op-Ed section, Jolie revealed the difficult medical decision she made after discovering she carried the BRCA1 gene.

This leads to an increased risk in breast and ovarian cancer.

Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, passed away at 56 after battling cancer for over a decade.

As Jolie said in her article, We often speak of “Mommy’s mommy,” and I find myself trying to explain the illness that took her away from us. They have asked if the same could happen to me."

Jennifer Aniston's summer wedding plans with fiance Justin Theroux are reportedly on hold ... because of Brad Pitt's own plans to marry Angelina Jolie.

Neither couple has confirmed they even have a date set, but that's still what Us is reporting today in its new issue. One of their sources claims:

Angelina Jolie is not married, she says, despite a curious ring switcheroo.

The actress sparked speculation when she swapped her $500,000 diamond engagement ring for a simple gold band during a humanitarian trip to the Congo.

This was logically done so it wouldn't get lost or stolen, but given that this is Angelina Jolie, speculation ran wild that she married Brad Pitt on the down-low.

Not so. She denied this personally yesterday, which means one thing:

Across the U.S., gossip magazines still have endless subject matter.

I'm confused: I thought the end of humanity occurred when Honey Boo Boo got her own show.

But here, the new film World War Z is supposing it will occur once a zombie pandemic spreads across the globe. I guess there's still some humanity left to destroy... who knew.

"We really don't [have one]," he told celebrity news program Extra, when asked about the timetable. "I don't know what's going to happen in two weeks."
