Maria Shriver: Comforted By Bono

Maria Shriver's 25-year marriage to Arnold Schwarzenegger is heading for divorce after the action hero was revealed to have knocked up Mildred Baena.

She's doing her best to stand tall in the face of Arnold's staggering admission, and yesterday found comfort in a friend - none other than U2's Bono.

At one point, the rock star held her hand consolingly and patted her on the arm soothingly during a lunchtime get-together yesterday.

Maria was having lunch with the world famous musician at a restaurant in Beverly Hills, Calif., and is believed to have ditched her wedding ring.

Bono (a.k.a. Paul Hewson) has been married to his wife Alison since 1982. They, too, have undergone plenty of ups and downs over the years.

The mother-of-four was keeping her head held high as she went about her daily life - perhaps preparing for her future as a single woman.

A divorce filing is expected any day now. She and Arnold have four kids - Katherine, 21, Christina, 19, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 12.

Arnold's love child with Baena, Joseph, is 13 and  born within weeks of his youngest son Christopher. We wish Maria and her kids the best.

Bono: Madonna Adoption was in the Name of Love

 Bono Vox
We're not sure how he feels about the Shanna Moakler vs. Paris Hilton feud.

But U2 singer, Bono, has made his feelings well known regarding the flak a certain material girl has recently received in light of her African baby adoption.

The frontman hit back at critics of Madonna and praised the 48-year-old for giving one-year-old David Banda a chance of a better life.

"Madonna should be applauded for helping to take a child out of the worst poverty imaginable and giving him a better chance in life"Bono said. "Baby David is lucky to have been adopted by someone who can give him a chance of survival in this world and I don't think it's fair that people are criticising her."

The singer then told a story about the sort of sad adventure Brangelina can relate to.

"About 20 years ago when my wife Ali and I went to Africa, shortly after Live Aid, a man who quite clearly loved his child came up to us and begged us to take him.

"It is heartbreaking but he asked us to take his child home with us because he couldn't feed him. This happens all the time in parts of Africa where unthinkable poverty means people simply can't feed their children."

Bono, Oprah Make Really Cute Couple

Okay, so these peeps aren't really a couple. In the romantic sense at least. They sure are a couple of really rich people, however -- not to mention philanthropists.

Go, Oprah Go! And Bono, Too!

Above, Bono and Oprah give each other a hand in Chicago as they joined forces to promote the U2 singer's "Project Red," a campaign to raise money to fight AIDS in Africa. Oprah may not know how to pump gas, but she sure seems pumped to be there in this pic.

It's good to see that amidst all the Paris Hilton types out there, some celebrities not only have talent, but use their star power for good causes. Bono, Oprah, Brangelina, George Clooney and others give humanity a good name.
