The Voice results show set a new precedent tonight.
Unlike previous seasons, the singers are no longer exclusively battling their team, and the coaches no longer have a say in who stays beyond The Voice Top 12.
In other words, it's anyone's game, and any team could lose two singers in a given week (some speculated this would happen to Christina right off the bat, in fact).

The Voice's top 12 performed Monday night, with a twist: 10 will advance, with the coaches having no say. America's votes will be the only determining factor.
Also, no coach is guaranteed a spot in the finals, meaning any remaining singer can be voted off at any time. In other words, it's crunch time. So how'd they do?

After two electrifying live playoff rounds, it was elimination time on The Voice tonight.
For eight of the 20 singers. That's right, only three of five would survive from each team - two chosen by your votes, and one by his or her respective coach.

Unlike Monday's live playoffs, one team totally outshone the other this week. Misfits they may seem, but Cee Lo's is clearly the deeper, more talented squad.

This is true as a general statement, but particularly if this anecdote is true. According to reports, one of the contestants on The Voice chose a Chris Brown song to sing.
Blake? Not pleased.
In the feedback after his performance, Blake apparently expressed disappointment that this aspirant Chris Brown song, and the dude did not make it through.
