Let's read a couple highlights from an interview BuddyTV recently conducted with American Idol runner-up, Blake Lewis. His album hit stores this week...

How would you describe the feel of the album, and the songs that are on the album, to someone who might not be a fan of yours yet?
Easy. Well, if they were born in the ‘80s they'll get it. I call it my 2080s record. All of my influences are very '80s derived: Michael Jackson, Prince, U2, The Police, The Cure, Erasure, New Order, Depeche Mode. All of my melodic tendencies are basically ‘80s driven, so the record has this very electro soul funk pop kind of feel to it, where every song transitions or doesn't transition into the next song.

Ryan and Ashthon Jones

Just like an electronic mix tape or a hip-hop mix tape. Yeah, there you have it. It's called ADD, Audio Day Dream. Everyone thought I had ADD growing up just because I'm very high energy and focused.

Why should Blake Lewis worry? The American Idol favorite has a new album out and a legion of fans.

You've been making music for a long time now. Do any of the song's have origins prior to American Idol?
Oh yeah, definitely. The whole concept of the album has been mine for years. I have old sample discs that say "B Shorty, ADD Sampler" from like four years ago. Three, four years ago. So definitely there's a lot of concepts of songs that I wrote that were in my book and my journals.

There's definitely a lot of stuff on there from the past, and working with these amazing producers that have inspired me for years. I'm very fortunate to make an album that I'm very passionate about.

Check out the entire interview with Lewis now.

Contrary to previous reports, Blake Lewis does not have a girlfriend.

But when the beat boxing American Idol finalist does eventually settle down, he told MSNBC that he wouldn't mind if it were with an older woman. They've been pursuing him since the show ended, after all.

"I got a little bit of that, some cougars definitely... I love older women so it was fantastic," he said.

Heather Mills' ears just perked up. Gold-digging opportunity!

Lewis went on to talk randomly about pairs of underwear that were thrown at him on stage during the American Idols Live tour this summer.

"I finally got my first pair of panties and they were huge gigantic grandma panties," he said. "It was awesome. I don't know where they ended up. I think we threw them around on the tour bus that night."

Meanwhile, the singer's favorite song on his debut album - Audio Day Dream, in stores December 4 - talks about a previous relationship with an unnamed woman:

"The ballad How Many Words... It's about the last relationship I was in. If you've ever had trouble being in a relationship, then getting out of it and getting back into it, you can relate. Man, I couldn't stop. I went back like 10 times."

We can relate, Blake. So can Alex Vaggo and Paris Hilton.

For fans of Blake Lewis, the countdown is almost over.

The debut album from this American Idol runner-up is set to hit stores on December 4.

We'll post more about the CD as that date grows closer. For now, take a look at the cover for "Audio Day Dream."

Will the debut of Blake Lewis sell more copies than the latest CD from Britney Spears? Only time - and album sales - will tell.

Blake Lewis has just posted the release date for his debut CD, "Audio Day Dream," on his MySpace blog.

Here's what the American Idol runner-up had to say:

My album just got pushed back to December 4th. We think it will be a better day for the release and its also taking some pressure off me, for getting this album done. I can't wait to get it out!!! I have been waiting to make a full length album for the longest time.

This album is a mix of all the great pop music that has inspired me since the 80's. Electro/funk/soul/pop I call it my 2080's album. One mix from the start to finish, like a great Electronic or Hip-Hop mix tape.

The Hollywood Gossip is in love with Friday Night Lights.

But one of the main actors on this NBC drama recently admitted strong feelings for a certain American Idol finalist.

Scott Porter, who plays paralyzed former quarterback Jason Street, says he was a professional beat boxer before landing this new role. Therefore, you can imagine who he admires.

"He had some strong points and some weak points. I liked watching him, though. He's pretty talented," Porter said of Blake Lewis.

"When I saw him perform with Doug E. Fresh, I have to tell you I was a little jealous, but anything that can bring some notoriety to beatboxing, I really enjoy."

Porter added that locals in Austin - where Friday Night Lights is filmed - are great about letting him get on stage.

"There's a group called Boombox out here in Austin, and whenever I get a chance to see them, they let me up on stage, and we jam a little bit. It's a great feeling to get to do what I used to do."

We're guessing Kyle Chandler and Porter's cast mates have had a chance to listen to these skills, as well. We just hope the rest of America has a chance to watch these incredible actors in action on Friday Night Lights.

It's an incredible show.

Jordin Sparks has a new song out, Tattoo.

She also has a message for anyone that thinks her and Blake Lewis are an item: They are not.

"It makes me laugh. We went through this whole experience and it's like I can't even look at him that way," she recently said.

But it's all part of being in the celebrity gossip spotlight. Sparks now has to put up with dating rumors... and difficulty at the mall.

"I can't really go to the mall anymore," Sparks said. Even though she's tried everything to be able to go out in public and not get recognized â€" including wearing hats and hoods â€" she sticks out "like a sore thumb."

That's typically due to the hair, which may as least give Britney Spears some excuse for shaving all hers off. But not really.

"Everything is coming so fast. My life is just turned upside down. But I love it and I want to do it for as long as I can," Jordin said.

As far as "Tattoo" goes, Sparks fell in love upon first listen. The track describes the scar left when a relationship ends and was one of the first songs she considered for her debut album after winning American Idol in May.

"I didn't even get through the first chorus before I was like, 'I need to have this song!'"

That's how we felt the first time we saw Jessica Alba nude photos.

The American Idol stage wasn't enough for Blake Lewis.

Everyone's favorite beat boxing sensation has signed a contract with 19 Recordings/Arista Records. He's already recording an album with producers that range from JR Rotem (yes, the former Britney Spears play thing) to Sean Kingston, due to be released at the end of the year.

As label head Clive Davis put it to Us Weekly: "Blake has a strong music sensibility and knows who he is and what his music should represent. His collaborators are all knocked out by him."

Blake Lewis has a reason to smile: The second-place finisher has signed a record deal.

Lewis has already experienced chart success with two of his covers from Idol. Right now, he's on tour with his fellow American Idol finalists, such as winner Jordin Sparks and best friend Chris Richardson (yes, the rumored former Lauren Conrad play thing).

"I love performing, so spending the summer on the road has been a great experience," Lewis said. "But I'm also enjoying my time in the studio and I'm very excited about recording my debut album. I'm thrilled to be working with 19 Recordings and ARISTA Records"

Idol creator Simon Fuller calls Lewis "one of the most unique contestants I've ever seen." It's not hard seeing this talent following in the footsteps of past show successes such as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

Wanna become the next Carrie Underwood? The latest Kelly Clarkson?

The chance to do so begins this Monday, as auditions for American Idol Season Seven kick off in San Diego. Before the latest batch of hopeful give their pipes a run-through, USA Today asked seven of last year's finalists to offer a few tips...

Jordin Sparks: Know that they're watching to see if you'll crack under pressure. Sing something nobody else is doing, because by the 10th time they've heard it, they're going to cut you off early, and you need all the time they give you. Smile. Dress nice, but not so nice. Maybe smart casual.

Blake Lewis: People have to realize it's a show, and producers want what's best for television. You're trying to get a job. You've got to be yourself and be confident. I didn't view it as television, so it was easy. You're not even singing a whole song. Just be true to yourself. There will always be other auditions.

Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis and other American Idols have advice for newcomers.

Melinda Doolittle: One of my friends did the whole audition with her eyes closed. She can sing beautifully, but she didn't connect with the judges. Even if you're nervous, look them in the eye. Sing a song you believe in, one that you can really sell. Capture their attention. They're looking for more than singing.

Phil Stacey: You've got to be real. The truth is, I would have left a better impression if I had done the music I wanted to do from the start rather than wait until I was comfortable. Blake went a long way because he was crystal clear about who he is.

Gina Glocksen: Don't get overwhelmed. It's going to be a long day. Don't sing Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston or Etta James. Make yourself be noticed without overdoing it. I remember this girl at the L.A. auditions who looked as if she didn't have a care in the world. She made it through.

Chris Sligh: Be comfortable. Have fun with it, and show some personality. Maybe tell a joke. I mean, three jokes got me to the top 10. Be original, be funny.

Haley Scarnato: Stay true to who you are, which is hard to do when you're on a TV show. Focus on the song and get caught up in that moment so you won't let everything else overwhelm you.

What, nothing from Antonella Barba? She must be too busy planning a major photo shoot with Amy Polumbo or something.

by Mischalova at . Comments

Sorry, ladies, but it appears as though Blake Lewis has a girlfriend.

The American Idol runner-up left Les Deux last night and was far from alone. As the picture below also indicates, he was snuggling up with a certain someone outside the hot spot.

And that someone is NOT Antonella Barba or Jordin Sparks, both of whom the spiked-hair beat boxer has been linked with.

Blake Lewis makes like Paris Hilton and Cisco Adler with this unnamed woman.

While Lewis may be breaking hearts across the country with this smooch, fans of the crooner do have some good news: Earlier this month, Blake disclosed he has already recorded six songs for his upcoming album, due at the end of 2007.

"I try not to be put in a box," he said. "I'm inspired by everything. I've got six tracks done. I've got a track that's very Erasure-sounding, a track that's Sting-meets-Neverending Story and a track that's very electro-poppy Depeche Mode. It's all over the map."

We can't wait. We also think Blake should keep his options open before settling down with the woman above. Remember, Jessica Alba is single now.
