For the first time since the Beyonce lip-sync scandal broke, the singer at the center of this controversy has spoke out.

Sort of.

The artist - who pre-recorded her version of the national anthem for last week's Presidential Inauguration - Tweeted a photo of herself in a shirt with the words "Can I Live" on it yesterday. See for yourself:

Seemingly shrugging off the critics with this tagline, the phrase is a reference Jay-Z's song "Can I Liv?"

Multiple stars, from Jennifer Lopez to LeAnn Rimes, have already come out in defense of Beyonce. They say artists often lip-sync live and, hey, she was singing at least.

Did you lose respect for Beyonce as a result of this incident?

With the Beyonce lip-sync scandal gaining momentum, a trio of stars come out in support of the singer - who has also silently staged her own online-based defense.

The artist - who pre-recorded her national anthem performance at Monday's Presidential Inauguration - Tweeted the following photo last night of her in the studio, pretty much telling the public:

Hey, it may not have been live... but I DID sing the song dammit.

Meanwhile, the following singers spoke out yesterday in response to the controversy:

At yesterday's Presidential Inauguration, Beyonce sang an incredible version of the national anthem. It gave attendees chills and lit up the Internet within minutes of its completion.

But now comes word that may tarnish the performance in the eyes of many: the artist did NOT perform live.

“All music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day,” Kristin DuBois, a rep for the United States Marine Band tells Page Six, adding:

“We performed, live, the band. But we received last-minute word that Beyonce was going to use the pre-recorded vocal track. Those were the instructions we were given. We don’t know what the (sic) reason why.”

It's not unusual, of course, for singers to take this route. But considering the emotional resonance of the performance, we must ask:

Do you think less of Beyonce for lip-syncing the national anthem?

A new round of Beyonce photos have surfaced from the latest issue of GQ - and they are far from unattractive.

Posing with a football, a Brooklyn Nets cap and a helmet, the gorgeous singer - whose Star-Spangled Banner performance from yesterday's Obama Inauguration is still being talked about - is at her best in these shots:

In an interview with the magazine, meanwhile, Beyonce waxes profound and poetic when discussing the two most important people in her life:

Blue Ivy Carter and Jay-Z.

Barack Obama who?!? Today's Presidential Inauguration was dominated by two of the biggest names in the music business.

First, Kelly Clarkson blew us away with a version of "My Country 'Tis of Thee."

Then, with a crowd of nearly 800,000 in front of her, Beyonce took to the stage and belted out as impressive a rendition of our national anthem as you're ever likely to hear.

Sit back and be amazed by it now... and then get extra excited for her Super Bowl halftime show!

Beyonce posted an all-natural (and cute) pic of herself in a bikini with Blue Ivy Carter Thursday, perhaps to quell rumors that her GQ cover was photoshopped.

Maybe the photo, posted on Tumblr, had nothing to do with the Beyonce GQ cover, but it certainly suggests she wasn't as touched up as some critics say:

As you can see - if you can divert your eyes from the adorable Blue Ivy, who just turned one - Beyonce's stomach is ripped and her legs are toned.

Obviously, GQ and other magazines always airbrush to a degree, but not to the point where they altered Beyonce photos in any fundamental way.

She looks fabulous, on Tumblr, in GQ and in real life!

Destiny's Child - the trio of Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams - has announced it will soon reunite for its first new album in some time.

Like, really soon. Love Songs will be released January 29!

Destiny's Child Album Cover

It's not entirely new material, however. The album is "comprised mainly of romantic gems recorded between 1997 and 2004," though it also features "Nuclear."

That would be the first new Destiny's Child song since 2004.
