The West View News is a monthly publication in New York City's West Village with a circulation of approximately 20,000 subscribers.

But one article in its latest edition has now been viewed by far more people than that, thanks to one of the most controversial headlines you're ever likely to see in print.

The op-ed by author James Lincoln Collier is titled “N----r in the White House.”

The West View News Headline

The piece is actually a pro-Barack Obama article that criticizes the “racism” of far-right voters.

Loretta Fuddy, the director of Hawaii's Department of Health who verified President Obama's birth certificate, died in a small plane crash this week.

A commercial plane carrying Fuddy went down off the coast of the Hawaiian island Molokai Wednesday. The respected state health official was 65.

Fuddy is best known nationally as the Hawaii official who verified and approved the public release of Barack Obama's birth certificate in 2011.

Fuddy said the documents "prove the fact that he was born in Hawaii." Naturally, birthers weren't about to let her tragic death pass without mockery.

Early reports indicate that the plane she was in suffered catastrophic engine failure, and that the other eight passengers on board were rescued.

Naturally, many Tweets, comments, and web posts from the "movement" quickly insinuated that Fuddy's death in the Cessna crash was no accident.

Some implied that the White House was "tying up loose ends," or that those with ties to Obama's past tend to have a "shortened life span."

And, of course, the King of the Birthers, Donald Trump, weighed in:

President Barack Obama stopped to help a pregnant woman on the verge of fainting during a speech he gave on health care in Washington, D.C., today.

Nearly 30 minutes into his speech, under the hot sun, a pregnant female supporter standing behind the Commander-in-Chief began to feel lightheaded.

Fortunately for the mom-to-be, Obama became aware of what was going on over his shoulder and turned around to lend Karmel Allison some support.

NOTE: This type of assistance is not covered under the Affordable Care Act.

"I gotcha, you're OK," Obama said as he put his arm out to steady her, and went on to joke, "No, no. You're OK. This happens when I talk too long."

Quickly afterward, a White House aide came to escort Allison off the stage as the President continued his speech, which came to end shortly thereafter.

Clearly afraid of just such an outcome, President Barack Obama took the unusual step today of an issuing a statement in reaction to the verdict.

Tuesday, the FBI said that a envelope testing positive for ricin, a deadly poison, was intercepted at the U.S. Capitol and addressed to Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS).

In the first case, the letter was intercepted at a postal facility in Maryland that screens mail sent to Congress, and never reached Wicker’s office.

Sen. Wicker thanked law enforcement and said an investigation was underway. The White House's mail is screened at a separate, offsite facility.
