The Obama Administration issued a response to an online petition asking the White House to commission an intergalactic Death Star a la Star Wars.

Sadly, it rejected the request.

  • Obama Death Star!
  • P O T U S

Guess The Force was not strong enough with this petition.

Claiming it would cost an estimated $850,000,000,000,000,000 and that "the administration does not support blowing up planets," Obama nixed the idea.

The White House was forced to offer an official response, since the petition garnered the requisite 25,000 signatures on the WeThePeople petitioning system.

A news agency in Iran has published a report claiming that white, rural Americans would rather vote for its own head of state, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, than U.S. President Barack Obama.

Slight problem: The report was by the Onion.

Onion Obama Story

Quoting The Onion, Iranian news agency Fars (more like FARCE, are we right?!) cites a fake poll that says 77 percent would rather have a drink or watch sports with Ahmadinejad.

A made-up West Virginia resident is quoted as saying: "I like him better."

President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are vying to spend the next four years in the White House. Current polls show a very close race shaping up for November 6.

We ask your opinion all the time on who should win the 2012 presidential election. But today, thanks to Jimmy Kimmel, we're asking ... who would win a scare-off?!

Last night, the talk-show host discussed the sales of the respective candidates' Halloween masks, pointing out that Obama was clobbering Romney in costume sales.

Kimmel then decided to find out which would scare his security guard Adelina more. Hilarious:

Samuel L. Jackson wants America to wake the f--k up and re-elect President Barack Obama.

In a new viral ad, he conveys this dream as only he can ... with massive amounts of profanity.

Wake the F--k Up is a Dr. Seuss-style rhyme, written by Adam Mansbach, author of the children's book Go the F--k to Sleep (which Jackson also read aloud at one point).

Wake the F--k Up features Jackson and a little girl urging the rest of her family to vote for Obama. Same excerpts from the ad, produced by a liberal super PAC supporting Obama:

Before Mitt Romney's 47 percent comment gave it some competition, President Barack Obama's "you didn't build that" was the political gaffe of the year.

Obama said it this summer in a speech he gave referring to business owners, trying to espouse the idea that behind individual success is government infrastructure.

Not a terrible argument, but dreadfully worded by all accounts, igniting a firestorm of controversy that Republican opponents use against him to this day.

It also spawned this amazing viral video! Holla!

The latest in a string of people with no particular affiliation using clips of a political candidate's words to craft Internet classics, Hugh Atkin created this one.

An Australian lawyer and fan of political satire, Atkin hilariously took Obama's "You didn't build that" quote and spliced it together with other clips of the Prez.

The video, "U Didn't Build That," is set to MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This," with dance moves and amazingly detailed lyrical excerpts to boot.

If there's one thing people across the political spectrum can agree on, it's that this is freaking hysterical. "U Didn't Build That" should be his official theme song.

A comedian pretending to be a disillusioned former supporter of President Barack Obama appeared on Fox & Friends today and gave an utterly ridiculous interview.

Max Rice appeared via satellite during a segment on the staggering unemployment rate for people ages 18-24 and its impact on Obama in November's election.

Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson introduced Rice as a "recent college grad who voted for President Obama" and who "just moved out of his parents' home."

Quickly, it became obvious that Rice was pulling one over on Fox News.

Rice interrupted Carlson's introduction, saying "S'up," and then told her, "Miss USA, it's an honor." Carlson noted that she was actually Miss America, not USA.

"Miss Universe in my book," he said, going on to state that "I was a huge Obama supporter in 2008 ... I met him in third grade. I met him when I was little."

Asked why he is now supporting Mitt Romney, Rice claimed he lost a bet in a pickup basketball game. "Are you being serious about this or not?" Carlson asked.

"Yeah," Rice said. "I can't see your face right now. This is so weird."

Not to mention hilariously random. It's unclear how "not ready for prime time" Rice finagled this gig in the first place, but hopefully they have him back on.

Big Apple Pizza owner Scott Van Nuzer received a visit from President Barack Obama Sunday in Fort Pierce, Fla., and reacted with a giant bear hug for the POTUS.

Yelp trolls responded a little less positively.

Irate, presumably conservative users flooded the rate and review website shortly afterward, sending Big Apple Pizza’s overall rating into a tailspin.

“Talk about committing business suicide. After picking up Obama, your books are gonna be in the red pretty soon. Not too smart,” one "reviewer" posted.

  • Obama Bear Hug

The commenter from Cottonwood, Ariz., 2,200 miles away, gave him 1/5 stars. Harsh. Hours later, though, Van Nuzer's establishment had staged a comeback.

Another Yelp commenter retaliated, “Really, conservatards? You try to trash a man’s business because he likes a different political candidate than you?"

"What scum you all are. SCOTT VAN DUZER IS MY HERO!”

Of the 229 comments listed on the page (30 “filtered,” one axed for violating terms of service), only two are pre-Obama bear hug. His overall rating is currently 5/5.

The oldest review, posted in 2010, offers this assessment:

“Nice variety of food for lunch or dinner. Love the Pizza, wings, subs, best stromboli in town. Great atmosphere in newly renovated dinning area, and flat screen TV’s ... staff make you feel right at home. Special people and good food make for a local favorite.”

Must have been what Obama read before deciding on Big Apple.

The President will go to great lengths for every pothead vote.

In the run-up to the Democratic National Convention this week, Barack Obama is making sure every member of his coalition does his or her part. He's even making personal calls, hoping to appeal to some of his more ardent supporters.

Such as Kal Penn of Harold & Kumar fame:

Barack and Kal go way back, actually. In addition to Harold and Kumar quotes and his role on House, the actor serves in the Obama administration as Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Engagement.

Hopefully for Obama, his supporters follow Penn's lead in November and not his alter ego's. Guy can't afford any potential voters sitting this one out.

The biggest story to come out of Thursday's conclusion of the Republican National Convention was not Mitt Romney's acceptance specch, but #Eastwooding.

Eastwooding being the Twitter hashtag for parodies, jokes and memes at the expense of acting legend Clint Eastwood's unusual, yet highly entertaining speech.

The 82-year-old debated an invisible Obama in an empty chair in what had to be the strangest endorsement of Romney all week, and the Internet went nuts.

Here's the original photo - angled so Invisible Obama still uses a teleprompter (subtly hilarious) - along with some of our favorite celebrity-based parodies:

President Barack Obama has had a rough couple of weeks, but he's still right in the thick of the 2012 race thanks to millions of his loyal devotees.

Not the least of which: Obama Boy.

The track is a follow-up to the ubiquitous “Obama Girl” video from the 2008 election (although the creators have no connection to Amber Lee Ettinger).

This boy has a crush on Obama, no doubt:

The tune is one and the same, but the lyrics have been updated to a reflect the 2012 landscape, notably President Obama's support of gay marriage.

“I put down my Prop 8 sign, now I’m going to make you mine,” is a notable lyric, as is “You support me unlike the right. You’re my rainbow colored knight.”

Follow this link for EW's interview with the writer and director John Duarte, 29, and Obama Boy himself, Justin Brown, 28, for more on the video.

Then check out the Obama Girl classic below, just because. She's smokin'. These two viral videos definitely show the President's broad appeal ...
