You may never actually reside on Pennsylvania Avenue, but most Americans say they wouldn't mind living next door to Barack, Michelle, Sasha, Malia and Bo.

President Obama, his wife and two daughters came out on top of a recent poll that asked people who would be their most desirable celebrity neighbor.

On the other end of the neighbor spectrum?

A reality star like Octomom and her 14 kids, or Jon and Kate Gosselin and their brood of eight would be a big turn off, according to the informal survey.

In related news, Amy Winehouse is unstable.

THEY'RE #1: Politics aside, the Obamas sure seem like nice people!

Barack and Michelle Obama were followed by Ellen DeGeneres and partner Portia de Rossi, who tied with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and family at #2.

The poll by real estate site Zillow.com also found that celebrity families with large broods, like regular people, were deemed the worst likely neighbors.

Nadya Suleman, the single mom who this year added octuplets to her existing brood of six, topped the worst celebrity neighbor poll with 17 percent.

Octomom was followed by Jon and Kate Gosselin, who fortunately are no longer together. Or unfortunately, as their awfulness has now branched out.

KEEP OUT: No one wants to live next to these people.

In a reflection of her polarizing nature, former Republican V.P. contender Palin was a popular choice, but also came in third in the worst neighbor category.

She was no match for Octomom or Jonny Boy, though.

Amy Bohutinsky, Zillow.com V.P. of communications, astutely noted that "Apparently Americans are opposed to living next door to a brood of young children, particularly those that come with a television crew and paparazzi."

In 2004, Ted Nugent gave an interview in which he said homosexuality was "morally wrong."

A year later, the rocker was sued for child support for failing to pay the woman with whom he had a baby out of wedlock.

This irony and hypocrisy is worth noting in light of the recent comments Nugent made to some magazine called Royal Flush. Speaking to the publication, he said of the President:

"I think that Barack Hussein Obama should be put in jail. It is clear that Barack Hussein Obama is a communist. Mao Tse Tung lives and his name is Barack Hussein Obama. This country should be ashamed. I wanna throw up."

Such a viewpoint elicits two responses from a rational individual:

  1. The only "evidence" any critic can cite that Obama is, indeed, a Communist would be the fact that he's daring to reform health care.
  2. Even if one were to somehow acknowledge this bizarre supposition, Nugent might wanna look up the First Amendment. The same passage that allows him to utter these words would also allow anyone to hold the views of Communism without legal repercussions.

Putting aside Nugent's clear lack of sanity, do you agree with his accusation? Is Barack Obama a Communist?

On Oprah Winfrey's "White House Christmas Special," President Barack Obama gave himself a "good, solid B-plus" in his first year in the Oval Office.

The Nobel Prize winner credited his administration with getting the economy on track, winding down the Iraq war and making the decision in Afghanistan.

Obama and Leno

He also said America has "reset" its prestige in the world and made progress toward halting development of nuclear weapons in Iran and North Korea.

Health care reform would boost his grade to an A-minus, he said, but until that and more people finding work "I can't give myself the grade I'd like."

Barack Obama and his old friend and supporter, Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah also interviewed Michelle Obama, who discussed less pressing topics, such as the White House's gingerbread house and First Dog Bo giving high-fives.

While the interview was primarily Oprah lobbing softballs at the First Couple, it was interesting to hear the President's assessment of his own performance.

What do you think? How would you grade Obama's first year?

Amid controversy at home and abroad, U.S. President Barack Obama was in Oslo, Norway today to receive the Nobel Peace Prize he won back in October.

The announcement of his award was met with both great praise and criticism, which the President addressed today in his Nobel Prize acceptance speech:

Obama Giving a Speech

"I receive this honor with deep gratitude and humility."

"This is an award that speaks to our highest aspirations - that for all the cruelty and hardship of our world, we are not mere prisoners of fate. Our actions matter, and can bend history in the direction of justice."

"And yet I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the considerable controversy that your generous decision has generated. In part, this is because I am at the beginning, and not the end, of my labors on the world stage."

Is Barack Obama too unproven or just plain unworthy of the Nobel Prize? Or should he take his award as a vote of confidence and call to action from the world?

The President, whose wife was just named the most fascinating person of 2009, has come under fire for receiving the Nobel as a relative novice on the global stage.

He was inaugurated not even 11 months ago - as well as his particular brand of leadership has sparked great debate over whether he truly deserves this honor.

Reactions also seem to be falling along ideological lines, with the most specific critiques of Obama centering on his simultaneous attempts to balance widespread initiatives for peace while escalating the war in Afghanistan.

What do you think? Does Obama deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?

If you listen to music today, you're bound to hear some if not most artists aided by Auto-Tune, a phase vocoder that corrects pitch in vocal performances.

Thus, it has enabled individuals with no ability to sing, such as Kanye West, Heidi Montag and Britney Spears, among many others, to pretend they can!

In addition to correcting inaccuracies, auto-tuning vocoders can also be used to amusingly distort a human voice if pitch is dramatically raised or lowered.

Using this technology, you can turn anything into a good song. That said, below is a video detailing the year that was: synched up and perfectly in tune!

Here's Spencer Pratt, Octomom, Lady Gaga, Balloon Boy, Jon Gosselin, Sully the airline pilot, Kanye himself and even the U.S. President recapping 2009 ...

As if trying to pass a controversial health care reform bill and escalating a war while trying to instill a sense of world peace weren't enough on Barack Obama's plate.

Now he has to deal with being lumped in with the world's most famous duplicitous sex-addict sleaze on the cover of Golf Digest! The POTUS cannot catch a break ...

Fortunately (for Barack), this is Photoshopped, and not a real image.

Golf Digest says it has no plans to pull the issue in light of all the scandalous recent Tiger Woods news, and despite the wealth of unintentional comedy therein.

The cover story, after all, is "10 Tips Obama can take from Tiger." LOL. Number 10: Look ... let me be clear ... you need to please your name off your phone!

There's also a complementary list of 10 Things Tiger Woods could learn from Barack Obama. Not cheating on your wife with seven-plus mistresses, maybe?

That list could probably be increased to a few thousand things.

White House state dinner crasher Michaele Salahi is apparently old pro (or at least an old cheap hack who needs to be locked up) at whatever it is she does.

According to a source, the Real Housewives of D.C. fraud once tried to fake being a cheerleader for the NFL's Washington Redskins ... for reasons unknown.

Tareq and Michaele

A former cheerleader who worked with the poser at Nordstroms in McClean, Va., from 1989-1994, was shocked to see her at a 2005 Redskins Cheerleader Alumni reunion. The source says she had no idea Michaele Salahi was a cheerleader.

That's because she wasn't. Team officials have no record proving her claims of being on the squad. Yet she lied her way into the 2005 reunion anyway.

Not quite as serious as somehow posing as a socialite, getting past security and crashing a state dinner at the White House, but equally puzzling.

Michaele Salahi met the President of the United States last week. Pretty soon, we imagine she will be meeting with members of the United States Secret Service.

Michaele and her husband, fellow state dinner crasher Tareq Salahi, had a private box at FedEx Field, where the team plays, and invited some of the real cheerleaders back to the their seats to hang out after the halftime performance.

“It became apparent she was trying to fake her way into looking like a Redskins cheerleader, to position herself as a social gem in society," the source says.

“Micahele is a con artist on every level.”

One who might consider seeing a shrink. Wonder if Bravo will rename its new show The Mentally Unstable, Pathetic Frauds Who Pose as Rich Housewives of D.C.

If you thought the Balloon Boy hoax was as far as you'd see aspiring reality TV jokers go for 15 minutes of fame, you don't know Michaele and Tareq Salahi.

The Virginia couple somehow managed to crash a state dinner at the White House this week and get up close and personal with President Barack Obama.

They are now the subject of a federal investigation.

The Secret Service is looking to file charges against Michaele and Tareq Salahi, who were attempting to land a spot on Bravo's The Real Housewives of D.C.

On Tuesday, the Salahis snuck into the president's first state dinner, honoring the prime minister of India, then posted pictures of themselves schmoozing.

Amazingly, Michaele and Tareq Salahi even managed to meet Barack and Michelle Obama in a receiving line, bypassing security with no invite or red flag.

Here's them with Vice President Joe Biden on Facebook:

You guys might want to take this pic off Facebook, just FYI.

On the verge of launching the D.C. installment of its reality franchise, Bravo is trying distance itself from it, saying the Salahis' participation is "not finalized."

"[Show producers] Half Yard Productions were filming the Salahis that day as they prepared for the event, that's the extent of our involvement," Bravo said Friday.

So they told producers they were invited and were filmed getting ready. That doesn't explain how they got in, of course, and President Obama isn't taking it lightly.

The matter has been referred to the Secret Service's internal affairs division, leading to a full investigation, according to Secret Service spokesman Jim Mackin.

While Mackin said the agency hasn't determined if party crashing is illegal, it hasn't ruled out pursuing criminal charges against the fame-seeking socialites.

Secret Services is taking full responsibility for the mishap, saying procedures likely weren't followed at the checkpoints and invites weren't checked properly.

People love Michelle Obama photos no matter what the First Lady wears. Conversely, at least as some see it, it seems like her husband can do no right.

Some commentators are ripping President Barack Obama's bow to Japan's Emperor Akihito this weekend, accusing him of groveling before a foreign leader.

Is It Hot In Here Or ...

But is that actually the case?

While Obama bowing before the emperor looks a bit awkward, it isn't without precedent. Nor was it a sign of capitulation or anything of the sort.

U.S. presidents from both parties have often been criticized for their attempts at culturally sensitive greetings to high-ranking foreign officials.

Former President George W. Bush was mocked for holding Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah's hand, a traditional sign of friendship in the Middle East.

In fact, back in 1994, former Democratic President Bill Clinton was even criticized for almost bowing to Akihito. He awkwardly stopped just short of this ...

Cultural faux pas or not, a bowing Barack just looks awkward.

If anything, Obama's encounter with Akihito could be considered a stumble because it mixed a bow with a handshake - something not normally done.

And it wasn't the first time the president, a Democrat who has been in office less than a year, has been criticized for his greeting of a foreign leader.

Critics accused him of genuflecting to Saudi King Abdullah at a summit meeting of the leaders of the top 20 rich and developing nations this year.

The bow comes during highly charged times.

Conservatives are strongly opposing Obama's policies, especially his plan to overhaul the health care system, and jump on any perceived faux pas.

Andrew Malcolm, in a blog on the Los Angeles Times, asked, "How low will the new president go for the world's royalty?" Apparently, pretty low.

U.S. State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters Monday that the bow by Barack Obama was traditional, "a sign of respect to the emperor."

"We're in an environment rwhere everything is hypersensitive. Any move you do, there will be some group that sees some message within all that."

You could call it a Rush to judgment. Eh, eh?

It was too easy: Some obscure blogger "unearths" some pages of President Obama's college thesis. A thesis with gems for the haters: Obama hates the Constitution, etc.

The report supposedly originated from Joe Klein of Time.

The author really was an obscure blogger, but one who wrote a satirical post about the thesis, citing Klein's "discovery." Rush Limbaugh went on to quote from the supposed thesis on his radio show, believing it was legit. That's a good satire.

In reality, the joke post, which claimed Klein had gotten his hands on 10 pages of student Obama's college thesis, was a total hoax and is not true in the least.

However, unlike Balloon Boy, it was not concocted in the hopes of this happening. And some will argue that it duped Rush and others because it's so realistic.

El Presidente

Rush Limbaugh got punked by a satirical blog purporting to have seen Barack Obama's college thesis. On a side note, Rush is an interesting name for such a large fella.

Believable or not, Rush was definitely had by the fake thesis.

Supposedly titled "Aristocracy Revisited," the faux thesis excerpt revealed the president had "doubts" about the "so-called founders" of our great country.

Juicy. Except not true.

Limbaugh discovered halfway through his show that he'd been had, but defended himself by saying, basically, the thesis felt true. That'll work for his "fans."

Joe Klein himself even jumped in, calling the report "nonsense" on his blog, and another blogger who thought the Obama thesis hoax was real also apologized.

For a humble post to go from an entry on a humor blog to major media outlet sure seems impressive. Someone ought to write a thesis or commentary on it.
