Yesterday, we told you about the controversy surrounding Avril Lavigne's racist Hello Kitty video - a clip so offensive it was banned by YouTube administrators even though it doesn't violate any of the site's rules.

Today, Avril responded using the tried and true method of embattled, bigoted celebs. It basically involves shaking your head in disbelief and saying, "What?! Me? Racist?!"

"RACIST??? LOLOLOL!!!" Avril tweeted yesterday, obviously giving this sensitive issue the mature consideration it deserves. "I love Japanese culture and I spend half my time in Japan..."

"I flew to Tokyo to shoot the video specifically for my Japanese fans, WITH my Japanese label, Japanese choreographers AND a Japanese director IN Japan."

Sigh. So many problems with that "apology" we don't even know where to start:

Their In a World Like This Tour went so well (apparently) in 2013, the reunited Backstreet Boys have decided to extend it into this summer - with Avril Lavigne!

The late '90s live as the singer will join the group as opening act for a two-month foray into North American amphitheaters, according to reports.

  • Always Avril
  • Return of the Backstreet Boys

After a string of Canadian shows in early May, the tour will return to the U.S. for 23 concerts, beginning May 22 at the WaMu Theater in Seattle, Wash.

"We really wanted to put together a great show and do our best to give everyone their money's worth," Backstreet's Brian Littrell said in a press release.

Winnie Cooper, we hardly knew ye!

An all-grown-up Danica McKellar, rocking fishnets and an apocalyptic-superhero look, makes out with Avril Lavigne in the music video for her latest single, "Rock N Roll."

Check out the collaboration below:

Part cartoon, part comedy and part girl-on-girl action,"Rock N Roll" is all girls-just-want-to-have fun antic. But the kissing is all the buzz on the 'nets.

"It was the first kiss for both of us. We never really talked about it afterward," Avril says of kissing Danica in a deadpan voice-over after the fact.

"But," the newly-married rocker singer concludes, "I think about the events of that day again and again, and somehow I know that Winnie does, too."

Wonder how Kevin Arnold feels.

It also features an Avril Lavigne sample, complete with the star's vocals. It's a bit more mellow than her previous singles, but typically catchy.

Cheers? Jeers? Would you drink to that? Listen below and tell us:
