With her hard-partying ways, singer Amy Winehouse has gone from being the music world's newest phenom to its latest casualty.

On August 8, the beehived British star was rushed to London's UCLH hospital for "exhaustion." The star's rep, Tracey Miller, says her client is very overworked.

Exhaustion takes on many meanings. For Lindsay Lohan, it likely means a liter of man soup in her stomach. For Winehouse, a source blames alcohol and drugs.

Indeed, Amy Winehouse, 23, who grew up in working-class London, has long been a wild child. Her taxi-driver dad and pharmacist mom split when she was 9. Her response?

Calling herself a "violent drunk," the singer has said she battled eating disorders, and her arm bears scars from mutilating herself.

"But the time I was 15, my parents realized I would do whatever I wanted, and that was it really," she said.

Around that time, a rebellious Amy Winehouse got her first of many tattoos and pierced her nose, which got her kicked out of theater school.

Despite the international success of her second album, Back to Black, she lacks confidence in anything other than music, friends say.

"When it comes to self-worth and looks," says a pal," she has a low opinion of herself."

This in spite of her recent marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil, who she dated off and on for a few years before rekindling the flame this spring.

In recent months, the singer, who once toiled as an entertainment reporter, canceled shows in London and L.A., and has backed out of shows in Europe.

Though her rep says that after a rest, Amy Winehouse will resume her touring schedule, friends still worry.

"Part of her problem is she has a young, strong, physical constitution and a strong mind," says childhood pal Jessica Ashby. "But they are also her solution."

The Hollywood Gossip has learned that Amy Winehouse was rushed to the hospital this morning with exhaustion after some sort of incident.

Winehouse's representative confirmed to TMZ that the hard-partying singer was taken to a London hospital and treated for what is described as severe "exhaustion."

What a Boob

Amy Winehouse has since been discharged and is currently at home. She has been ordered to take "complete rest."

When asked what prompted this, the rep said that a marathon lip-locking session with Blake Fielder-Civil was likely to blame.

Just kidding. Amy's rep would only say "it came about quickly." No other details are available at this time.

The singer's grueling world tour schedule is most likely to blame. At least a little.

For now, "no, no, no" more shows for the 'House. Really! They've been canceled!

It's hard to say what "exhaustion" consists of, as it varies from case to case. To use recent examples, Dave Chappelle was just wicked tired, while Jennifer Garner was out too long in the withering heat. Lindsay Lohan's stomach sometimes has to be pumped after going to town on six different guys. You just never know.

In any case, here's hoping Amy Winehouse a speedy recovery.

We report on too much sad celebrity gossip sometimes.

There are constant Britney Spears meltdowns, lenient Nicole Richie jail sentences, a lack of Scarlett Johansson nude photos.

Therefore, let's take a moment to celebrate love. Here is a tribute to public displays of affection by celebrities that don't care about money or the spotlight. Just each other.

We'll start with Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil. Sure, they might fight like drunk Yankees and Red Sox fans occasionally, but the newlyweds always come back to each other in the end. As the peck pictured here proves, blood is thicker than fisticuffs.

Of course, Reggie Bush knows all about that. He bled on the football fields of USC for years and now he's doing it for the New Orleans Saints. This running back gives it his all between the sidelines; that is, whenever he's not giving it to Kim Kardashian between the sheets.

This pair hooked up on the dance floor of a club a few weeks ago. Let's just hope Bush doesn't run into the same problems that former college teammate Matt Leinart has encountered after his past sexual liaisons.

Finally, we close with the model Hollywood couple. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag just can't keep their fingers or lips off one another. Cynics might refer to photos of these two as nothing but staged attempts to make celebrity news headlines.

Suckin' Face

But we call them endearing. And just further proof that love can, indeed, be in the air for many in Tinseltown.

Right, Ali Larter?

Before you shake your head, remember that Nicole Richie is already pregnant. How bad could the future Amy Winehouse offspring possibly turn out?

Josh Bowman, Amy Winehouse

But ContactMusic is reporting that the increasingly popular Winehouse wants kids - and soon - with her new husband, the classy Blake Fielder-Civil.

This is according to her father, Mitch.

A taxi driver from Britain, Mitch Winehouse is thrilled by his daughter's surprise nuptials and reportedly desperate to be a grandfather.

He says:

"(Amy and Blake) are thinking of having children soon. She is all caught up in her career at the moment but she often talks about wanting a baby. You just never know what she's going to do next."

"Amy will probably want to carry on writing and singing so I've told her I would help out with a baby," Mitch added.

"Her mum, Janis, and me can fight over who looks after him or her! I wouldn't want Amy to have a nanny, we'll giver her all the help she needs."

Now that's family support! Take that, Lynne Spears.

Amy Winehouse recently gave disturbing insight in to her private life, cutting herself with a shard of mirror during a magazine interview.

The singer reportedly carved the words ‘I love Blake' into her stomach and made repeated foul mouthed rants as she spoke to Spin magazine.

Talking before her recent marriage to husband Blake Fielder-Civil, Amy Winehouse ranted about her newfound superstardom.

"I'm not in this to be a f***ing role model," the eccentric one insisted.

Sounds vaguely like the sentiments of her supposed rival, Lily Allen.

Blake Fielder-Civil then joined her at the interview in the Toad Hall pub, in New York, where he reportedly threatened a fellow drinker, asking the interviewer to: "Tell the guy who looks like he has leukaemia I'm going to slit his throat."

He's a class act, this fellow.

The songstress then cut into her stomach after posing with a shard of mirror for the photo shoot. She then went to the toilet, checking her nose with the piece of mirror.

The "Rehab" singer, who has admitted mutilating herself in the past, said:

"I don't care. I don't care about any of this and I don't have much of an opinion on myself... I write songs because I'm f***ed in the head and need to get something good out of something bad. I thought ‘I'm going to die if I don't write down the way I feel I'm going to do myself in.' It's nothing spectacular. And if I did I'd be a f***ing right ****, wouldn't I?"

Did we mention we love Amy Winehouse?

Amy, who also says she can and will beat up Blake when necessary, told Q magazine earlier this year that she began self-mutilating ways in her younger days.

"It's a funny thing, a morbid curiosity. I'm talking about when I was nine. What does it feel like? ‘Ow, that f*****g hurts."

Amy Winehouse made the comments after appearing at the Elle Style Awards ... and sporting some ghastly and mysterious scars on her arms.

This girl makes Britney Spears seem sane ... although Winehouse balances out her quirks with considerable singing talent, so call it a wash.

Winehouse married boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil in a surprise Miami wedding in May. Her album Back to Black has been a top 10 hit in the US.

They're both rising stars in their respective crafts.

They're both sexy and stylish in their own way.

Hayden Panettiere in Hawaii

They both carry a lot of baggage - and we're not talking about Rumer Willis and Blake Fielder-Civil.

Truly, the similarities between actress Hayden Panettiere and singer Amy Winehouse are literally endless. But in this case, we're focusing on their favorite bags.

Every gal has her signature look - and their personal carrying case is a big part of it. In the case of Amy Winehouse, the "Rehab" singer may be ecentric, but her bag is classic luxury. And a could size to beat someone's ass with. The star totes her Bianca Large Satchel from Miami to N.Y. to London. See below.

Meanwhile, from L.A. to N.Y.C., Hayden Panettiere totes a gold-studded "Brynne" bag with her everywhere she goes. Now, that thing looks like it's too heavy for the petite one to carry, but if you've ever watched Heroes, you know you can't judge her power by her appearance.

Plus, she can always call boyfriend Stephen Colletti to help. He can lug that bag as he waits until August to legally bag that. You know what we're talkin' bout.

Amy Winehouse Beats Blake Fielder-CivilLondon's The Sun says that singing sensation Amy Winehouse isn't afraid to get on her husband's case if he pisses her off.

Neither are most strong women. But in Amy's case, it means she just might lose her $h!t and beat Blake Fielder-Civil physically.

Specifically, Amy Winehouse said that when she's drunk - and when is she not - Blake had better watch his a$$ if he angers her.

"I'm either a really good drunk or I'm an out-and-out $h!t, real horrible, violent, abusive, emotional drunk. I'll beat up Blake when I'm drunk," she said of the classy gent she married in a surprise wedding last month.

Bad as this might sound at first, it sure "beats" driving around drunk like Lindsay Lohan or offering up crotch shots like Britney Spears.

"I don't think I've ever bruised him, but I do have my way. If he says one thing I don't like then I'll chin him," Amy Winehouse, who also admits to mutilating herself, added.

"I'm not a fighter, but if I am backed up against the wall I won't hesitate to kick the $h!t out of anyone... I don't think one's ability to fight has anything to do with how big you are. It's to do with how much anger is in you."

A valid point. But let's just hope that some men, such as Alec Baldwin, who has some serious rage issues, doesn't get crunked and subscribe to this methodology.

We now understand why Amy didn't make Blake Fielder-Civil sign a prenuptial agreement. If he screws around, she will simply beat his sorry a$$ to a pulp.

Newlyweds Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil are the picture of marital bliss... and giant-squid hair, weird hats, cigarettes and snot rockets.

You know, standard operating procedure ...

Blake Fielder-Civil: Class Act

The lovebirds were spotted outside the Vintage Coffee Shop in Beachwood Canyon, and Amy Winehouse looked on as her classy new husband blew his nose the old-fashioned way - in the street like a peasant.

If the look Amy is giving Blake Fielder-Civil is any indication, she's probably starting to regret the whole surprise wedding... or at least not making him sign a prenup.

She's probably thinking to herself, "This guy blows!" Sorry, that was lame.

Meanwhile, fellow British singing sensation Lily Allen is probably wishing she had a deadbeat husband like this. While hitting the booze hard, of course.

Things are likely to get stressful for stripper Joslyn Noel Morse, as her tawdry affair with married New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez becomes public knowledge.

Let's hope she handles duress better than Amy Winehouse, who reveals how a "desperate" and "depressed" past led her to start mutilating herself.

Amy Winehouse: Burn Victim

The "Rehab" songstress opens up about the slash marks left behind on her forearm in a revealing new Rolling Stone interview, which earned her the cover of the U.S. rock magazine.

The new wife of Blake Fielder-Civil attributes the blues to the fact she grew up in the shadow of an older brother, stating:

"I did a lot of that ‘Oh, life's so depressing' stuff before I was 12. That's when I would be reading J.D. Salinger… and feeling frustrated."

But Amy Winehouse adds her cutting started later, explaining, "That's really old… Just from a bad time, I suppose. Desperate times."

Tom Cruise would argue that there's no such thing as depression... or probably desperation, or frustration. Or emotions of any kind. Guy is a weird one.

But enough about that loon. Winehouse has hinted before that she's set to quit the music business after just two albums - to devote her time to being a good wife and mum.

The singer, who wed Blake Fielder-Civil in a secret Miami ceremony last month, has suggested she may never record another album or tour again - because now she wants to settle down and start a family.

"I've done a record I'm really proud of and that's about it," Winehouse, who didn't make Blake ink a pre-nupital agreement, tells Rolling Stone.

"I'm a caretaker at heart and I want to enjoy myself and spend time with my husband... Blake and I didn't get to spend any time together for a long time."

Winehouse, who shocked many when she got engaged to Fielder-Civil in April after a separation from him, and who is a former Wenn employee, adds:

"I don't want to be ungrateful. I know I'm talented, but I wasn't put here to sing. I was put here to be a wife and a mom and look after my family."

Amen to that. A-Dubs may sport a giant octopus on her head... but that doesn't mean she doesn't have a good head on her shoulders, as they say.

Too bad Britney Spears can't take such a grounded approach.

Amy Winehouse may sing that "love is a losing game."

But in snaring a great catch in Blake Fielder-Civil, she believes she's emerged a winner.

Amy Winehouse and Reg Traviss

The 23-year-old singer and possible future James Bond girl, who married Blake Fielder-Civil last week, raved about her new husband Thursday at Britain's Ivor Novello songwriting awards, where she scored a best contemporary song trophy for "Rehab."

"I had a lovely dress and he looked very handsome," she told reporters of her Miami wedding. "We're not planning a honeymoon. Every day is a honeymoon with Blake. I've married the best man in the world."

Amy Winehouse admitted the wedding was sudden - she and Fielder-Civil, who inspired some of the songs on her album Back to Black after they temporarily broke up, had been engaged for less than a month - but she said simply:

"That's the way I am."

Also the way she is? Walking around with a giant squid on her head.

Fielder-Civil, 23, a music-video assistant, and Winehouse, 23, first began dating two years ago and had only recently resumed their courtship and got engaged.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the singer introduced "Rehab" on a recent radio appearance by saying:

"Here is a song I wrote when he left me a couple years ago. I wrote the whole album about it, really. We went on our little separate ways, but, then realized that we loved each other. Life's too short."

We fully expect Britney Spears and Kevin Federline to follow this advice, come to their senses and be back in each other's arms any minute.
