Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has been banned from no-strings visits to her jailbird husband after he failed a drug test... in jail.

The six-time Grammy Awards nominee can now only see Blake Fielder-Civil from behind a glass screen with no physical contact. Life is tough these days.

The move by London's Pentonville prison, where Blake Fielder-Civil is now awaiting trial over assault and trial-fixing allegations, comes after he tested positive last week for a Class A drug, thought by many to be heroin.

Visits to remanded prisoners such as Blake normally take place in an open hall with officers patrolling. But an insider said: "As a precaution, the governor has banned Amy from having any more open visits with Blake.

"They now have to meet in a room separated by a bullet-proof glass screen."

It looks as if Amy Winehouse may be smuggling drugs to Blake-Fielder-Civil.

Amy Winehouse, 24, who was arrested and later freed on bail in Fielder-Civil's case, has been known to hide drugs in her bird's-nest / beehive hairdo when on stage. You know where we are going with this, right?

She has not visited Fielder-Civil, 25, since he failed the random drugs test. A pal of Amy's said: "She's paranoid and shaking every time she goes there and has decided to give it a miss for a while." We assume that means cool it.

Blake Fielder-Civil has lost some of his privileges over the failed drug test and has been moved to the jail's sex perverts wing as a punishment. And here we thought that only happened in films like The Shawshank Redemption.

A Prison Service spokeswoman declined to discuss individual prisoners.

We're not entirely sure what the hell Amy Winehouse is doing in this photo - taken during her recent trip to visit incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil within the confines of his jail cell - but it's one strange pic, don't you think?

Pop wreck Amy Winehouse has been released on bail following her arrest in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice.

Scotland Yard, who does not name suspects until they are charged with a crime, stated: "A 24-year-old woman has been bailed to return to an East London police station on a date in early March pending further inquiries."

Amy Winehouse was arrested Tuesday at an East London police station.

The six-time Grammy Award nominee was taken into custody for questioning in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice.

Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is currently remanded in custody on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice in relation to an assault case that had been pending against him and one other gentleman.

Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, and Michael Brown are accused of assaulting James King, the landlord of Macbeths public house in Hoxton, East London, on June 20. It is alleged that they conspired to pervert the course of justice by offering King a significant amount of money to withdraw his allegation and leave England.

Two other men also facing the same charge are Anthony Kelly, 25, from Chalk Farm, north west London, and James King, 36, from Risley, Derbyshire.

Blake Fielder-Civil and Michael Brown's assault trial was adjourned after they were accused of the witness tampering/conspiracy charge.

Amy Winehouse cancelled her tour dates for the year following her husband's arrest after "giving several shambolic performances." We think that means bad.

Amy Winehouse has been arrested and taken into custody in connection with an alleged plan to derail a criminal case against her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.

"A 24-year-old woman has been arrested by appointment at an East London police station," a police spokeswoman said, without naming Amy Winehouse.

"[The woman] is currently in custody. The arrest was in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice."

Amy Winehouse's U.S. representative confirmed the singer's arrest, saying: "I can confirm that she did go in voluntarily to be interviewed and was placed under arrest, as is common practice in the U.K., before being questioned."

The arrest of Amy Winehouse relates to a witness-tampering charge against husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, who's accused of assaulting a barman in June.

He is currently in jail awaiting trial. As is British custom, police do not publicly name people who are arrested - only if they are later charged with a crime.

Winehouse was forced to give fingerprints and a saliva swab to police, as "any person arrested is required to give both DNA and fingerprints," the police said.

Another source denied a recent News of the World report that Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil have a suicide pact if they both are put behind bars.

Now that her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is in jail, Amy Winehouse seems to be spending more time with Pete Doherty - and her father is not happy.

In fact, seeing the often-arrested Babyshambles singer out with his daughter made dad Mitch Winehouse go berzerk, he admitted to Grazia magazine.

"I do worry about people like Pete Doherty. He's a scumbag," a distraught Mitch Winehouse said. "I flipped when I saw him sitting with Amy backstage at her Brixton gig. I went crazy. My wife thought I was going to have a heart attack."

Some sources reported that Pete Doherty was present when Amy Winehouse overdosed on drugs in August. Regardless, they are hanging out a lot nowadays.

The diminutive jazz-pop diva, 24, has struggled mightily since her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was arrested for alleged witness tampering in November.

She also canceled all 2007 shows, and mother Janis Winehouse wrote an open letter published by the media, begging Amy to come home and get clean.

"I know the real problem here is that she's depressed about [Blake Fielder-Civil] being in prison," Mitch Winehouse said. "I wasn't in favor of the marriage, but they are married and I will support them. And he's shown while he's been in prison a level of maturity that he didn't have before."

While admitting to the magazine that Amy is "not very well," Mitch Winehouse said he can't force his daughter - who was recently nominated for six Grammy Awards for her smash hit album, Back to Black - into rehab.

"Believe me, my first instinct is to get hold of her, pick her up and take her back to my house and lock her away," he said. "But I've spoken to the finest drug counselors in the world, and they've said that is exactly the wrong thing to do."

Amy Winehouse is reportedly going to be questioned by police after she was implicated in Blake Fielder-Civil's bribery and witness tampering plot.

According to The Sun (U.K.), Amy Winehouse will be interviewed by detectives this week, to establish if she is somehow involved in her hubby's scheme.

They have already seized phone records, bank receipts and computer hardware from Amy. Blake Fielder-Civil is accused of trying to bribe a key witness in another case - in which assault charges were being brought against Fielder-Civil.

Was Amy Winehouse involved in the witness tampering plot that got Blake Fielder-Civil arrested? And if so, was she lucid enough to remember?

A source tells The Sun: "When police received their initial information the inquiry centred on Blake, his friend Brown and the original victim in the case."

"But after seizing a number of documents, it seems there is forensic evidence that may tie Amy directly to the plot. When you think about it, as soon as the figure of £200,000 emerged, the finger of suspicion started to point in her direction."

What, you mean a former deadbeat music "assistant" and heroin junkie like Blake Fielder-Civil doesn't have £200,000 kicking around? Stunning revelation.

Of course, Amy Winehouse is one of those people that probably would prefer to be in jail than be apart from her precious Fielder-Civil. In fact, she might even be tying herself to the plot on purpose as part of Prison Break-style escape plan!

A few days after her mother, Janis Winehouse begged her daughter to come home in an open letter, Amy Winehouse found support in her father, Mitch Winehouse.

Amy and Mitch headed out together in London Tuesday, reportedly to visit her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, in jail. It's always good to have some bonding time.

Winehouse, who has been struggling mightily with drug abuse and the jailing of Blake Fielder-Civil, has come under attack from many critics, not the least of which being her own parents. But perhaps they've patched things up (or tried to).

After all, visiting hours in jail are always able to conjure up some good times. This is the kind of family outing we always expected Britney Spears and her little sons to embark on, had she stayed with K-Fed. We gone go see Daddy, y'all!

Amy Winehouse's estranged mother, Janis Winehouse, penned an open letter to her daughter, 24, urging her to come home and seek help. She writes:

"We want to help you, but we know that unless you want to be helped, unless you come to us â€" anything we tried would be in vain. So this letter is my way of making sure you know ... that all you have to do is come home to us, Amy, and we'll do everything in our power to get you well again. After all, you are still my baby and you always will be. So just pick up that phone and tell me what's troubling you... Wherever you are, whatever you need, we're here for you day and night."

Amy Winehouse looking pretty coherent... relatively speaking of course.

The singer has faced some hard times lately. She nixed her tour to support her incarcerated husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who is being held without bail after allegedly trying to buy off a witness in a pending assault case against him.

Winehouse was recently spotted wandering the streets of London in the middle of the night in just a bra and jeans, looking for her dealer having been asleep.

In a recent statement, Amy Winehouse â€" who nabbed six Grammy nominations in spite of her personal woes â€" apologized to fans for the recent troubles.

"Thank you for all your kind letters and emails," she said. "I am grateful for all your support."

After enduring hard drugs, and times, of late, Amy Winehouse and Kanye West enjoyed some good news Thursday, earning 14 Grammy nominations total.

Kanye West, 30, whose mother, Donda West, died in November after undergoing plastic surgery at the (shady) hands of Dr. Jan Adams, earned eight nominations, including for the prestigious album of the year and rap album of the year.

Amy Winehouse, 24, who has battled health and substance abuse problems and the incarceration of husband Blake Fielder-Civil, picked up six nods, including album of the year, song of the year and record of the year, and best new artist.

Winehouse was the subject of ridicule even on what could have been a positive day for the British jazz crooner. Announcing the Grammy nods, George Lopez joked, "Can somebody wake her up around 6 this afternoon and tell her?"

"Rehab" is Amy Winehouse's biggest hit. And where she needs to go.

Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and T-Pain were the other top earners with five nominations each. Artists with four each included Akon, Rihanna, Tim McGraw, John Newton, Ne-Yo, Rihanna, and Chris Daughtry.

In a race for record of the year with Amy Winehouse ("Rehab") are the likes of Beyoncé ("Irreplaceable"), Foo Fighters ("The Pretender"), Rihanna ("Umbrella") and Justin Timberlake ("What Goes Around Comes Around").
