Alec Baldwin says he has learned his lesson.

Following a Twitter outburst last week, in which he went off on a Daily Mail reporter through a series of homophobic slurs, the actor has quit Twitter - and claims he will "never" return.

"I went to Jimmy Gandolfini's funeral, and when I was there I realized Jimmy Gandolfini didn't have Twitter," the Emmy winner told Vanity Fair on Monday.

"Gandolfini was so beloved as a person, and he was so admired as an actor, and he didn't give a f--k about social media."

At least Baldwin hasn't given up cursing.

Thank goodness. It had been way too long since Alec Baldwin had gone off on a reporter.

The actor - whose infamous paparazzi run-ins include an alleged racial slur attack and a heated confrontation on the streets of New York - at least kept his rage relegated to Twitter yesterday.

But he did indeed rage, after The Daily Mail’s George Stark accused Baldwin's wife, Hilaria Thomas, of Tweeting through the funeral for James Gandolfini.

Along with simply denying the charge, the ex-30 Rock star Tweeted away last night with the following, largely homophobic messages:

At the Iowa State Fair two weeks ago, Hank Williams Jr. labeled President Barack Obama as a Muslim who Americans hate.

On Twitter last night, meanwhile, Alec Baldwin said he'd love to sit and "have a talk" with the singer "if Hank Williams Jr wasn't such a pathetic, wheezing fossil," that is.

The outspoken Democrat added: "I think we need to call Hank Williams Jr what he is.... A broken-down, senile, racist coot."

As the Presidential election heats up, celebrities are making their voices heard louder and louder.

Nicki Minaj, for example, is voting for Mitt Romney; while Chuck Norris is petrified of Obama earning re-election.

Williams, of course, has never been one to keep quiet about his controversial feelings. He compared Obama to Hitler about a year ago and was fired by ESPN as a result.

Whose side do you take in his new feud (you know Williams will respond!) with Baldwin?

Alec Baldwin and American Airlines are engaged in an epic feud after the actor was removed from a flight Tuesday, then tore the airline a new one on Twitter.

All over a game of Words With Friends, too.

When Baldwin was told by flight attendants that he had to get off his phone in the middle of a game, he stormed off and slammed the bathroom door so loudly the captain of Flight 4 had to get involved, according to fellow passengers.

The cabin door was closed, but the plane remained at the gate at the time of the incident. Alec then got up to go to the can and angrily slammed the door.

The captain then himself made the call to have Baldwin removed.

Sources close to the 30 Rock star counter that he did not slam the door, and only got up to get the flight attendant's name so he could file a complaint, but since the fasten seat belt sign was on at the time he was forced off the aircraft.

Alec proceeded to board the next LAX-JFK flight.

American Airlines claims Baldwin was "extremely rude to the crew" of the first flight, "calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language."

The execution of Troy Davis last night drew widespread criticism, including from 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin, who did not hold back on Twitter today.

Never one to shy away from controversial subjects, Baldwin made sure that his disgust over the Georgia man's death was heard loud and clear.

Of Davis' execution, which occurred at 11.08 p.m. by lethal injection, despite a plea for clemency, "The anti-justice haters won tonight," Baldwin said.

The 53-year-old actor went on to make a stream of politically passionate comments that attracted both praise and criticism from Twitter followers.

He referred to the family of police officer Mark McPhail, who was gunned down rushing to the aid of a homeless man in a Burger King parking lot in 1989.

"Wonder if the MacPhail family will seek death penalty for US leaders who killed thousands of US soldiers and countless innocent Iraqis," tweeted Alec.

He then went on a Twitter rampage about his disgust in the execution of 42-year-old Davis, which was based on questionable eyewitness evidence.

Russell Brand is accustomed to looking flat-out ridiculous. In fact, it'd be strange if he didn't. Alec Baldwin, though? We're used to seeing him as buttoned-up exec Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock, making the image below even more awesome.

This photo from the set of Rock of Ages pretty much speaks for itself.

"On the set with the one and only Russell Brand," Baldwin Tweeted:

The duo play a music club owner and his assistant in the film, but we really think they should consider adopting these respective hairstyles full-time.

Katy Perry wouldn't mind ... would she?
