Adele is more than just one of the most talented singers out there. She's also one of the most honest.

In the October issue of Vogue UK, the singer opens up on a number of topics, sounding very much like anyone else might when discussing pre-concert jitters and insecurities over her body...

Adele is very sorry, but she's also very sick.

The ultra talented, popular singer canceled one show at Plymouth Pavilions in England last night and has done the same for this evening's scheduled performance at Bournemouth International Centre. We'll let Adele, courtesy of a statement on her website, explain why:

"hi guys, sorry about the first 2 shows. im as useless as a slug right now, ive had a rotten cold since i got home earlier this week and was hoping it wouldnt make its way onto my chest. but unfortunately it has and its leaving me breathless and i cant hold any of my notes when i sing."

Here's to hoping Adele feels better soon, and here's a link to her rendition of "Someone Like You" at last week's MTV Video Music Awards. It was fantastic.

There were crazy outfits, alternate personalities, curse-filled acceptance speeches and a lot more at the MTV Video Music Awards.

But, sometimes, it's all about the voice. Enter Adele.

The British sensation took home three trophies at the event, as well as non-stop praise from the country's leading artists. Said Lady Gaga during the pre-show: “She’s a breath of fresh air and she’s so exciting and her music is adding another dimension to radio that’s so important. She’s [also] a truly lovely person - which, to me, is always my favorite.”

Young British singer Adele, whose album 21 is currently enjoying widespread critical and commercial success, has paid tribute to the late Amy Winehouse.

Adele, like Amy, attended London’s BRIT performing arts school, says the singer, who was found dead Saturday “paved the way for artists like me."

While Winehouse single-handedly "got people excited about British music again,” Adele doesn't think she “ever realised just how brilliant she was.”

Adele's statement, headlined “AMY FLIES IN PARADISE X,” appears below:

“not many people have it in them to do something they love, simply because they love it. with no fuss and no compromise. but she knew what she was capable of and didn’t even need to try."

"if she wanted to do something she would and if she didn’t she’d say f— off. it came easy to her and that’s why we all loved her so much."

"we believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them. Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about british music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blase about the whole thing."

Bad news for the good folks out west: Due to laryngitis, Adele has been forced to cancel five dates on her current North American tour.

A statement on the singer's website reads:

She was diagnosed last Thursday in Minneapolis, MN, where doctors ordered immediate rest and postponement of that night's engagement at First Avenue. Adele performed on Saturday evening in Denver, CO (Ogden Theater) which proved too early a return to the stage. Adele’s show last Sunday evening in Salt Lake City, UT was postponed last minute when her illness worsened. Adele has also been forced to postpone shows in Vancouver, BC (Orpheum Theatre) on May 31, Seattle, WA on June 1 and Portland, OR on June 3.

The tour will resume on June 4 in San Francisco, CA.

Keep an eye out for news of rescheduled shows. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
