In the latest issue of Vogue, despite the impression she might give on her blockbuster album, Adele says she's "bubbly and carefree."

Unless the subject turns to her father, that is.

In just-released excerpts from her interview with the magazine, Adele addresses dad Mark Evans, who recently sold a story to a tabloid in which he goes into detail about his split from Adele's mother.

"He's f-cking blown it," Adele says. "He will never hear from me again. Because there is nothing that would upset me more than my dad being bribed by the press. It's like, 'Just let them run it, then. Don't you give them ammunition.'"

In the tabloid story, Evans even zeroes in on his daughter, speculating that her problems with men stem from his absence.

Adele is best known for her blockbuster hit, "Rolling in the Deep."

But was the singer once rolling in the hay... on camera?

Yes, a French tabloid hilariously claims, as the latest issue of Public is running a cover story that alleges Adele and the ex about whom she penned songs from the album "21" once pulled a Kim Kardashian/Ray J. The magazine even includes photos with the report.

Adele Sex Tape Headline

In response, Adele has hired Schillings law firm to represent her in a possibly lawsuit against the tabloid.

"We are informed that the French magazine Public has today published images which it claims show our client in a sex tape," one of Adele's attorney says. "Our client has not appeared in a sex tape as claimed in the article. Our client does not appear in the photographs. Such claims are grossly defamatory. Our client is taking legal action in relation to this matter."

Darn right. In this instance, rumor has it... wrong.

A mesmerizing Grammy act and an untimely death both played a major role in the latest Billboard 200 top 10.

Fresh off six wins and her first live performance since throat surgery (below), Adele sold 237,000 albums last week (resulted are tracked through Sunday night), a 95 percent increase from the previous seven days and enough to keep "21" atop the chart for the 20th week.

It has now moved 6.6 million copies.

Following Houston's passing, meanwhile, "Whitney: The Greatest Hits," sold 64,000 units, which represents an increase of, oh, 5,994 percent from the prior week. Expect this trend to continue for the foreseeable future, as it so often does in death.

Really, this is Adele's world. We just live in it.

The superstar dominated this weekend's Grammy Awards, taking home six trophies and returning from throat surgery to wow the crowd with a rendition of "Rolling in the Deep."

Now, Adele is looking beautiful on the cover of Vogue and reeling off one memorable soundbite after another. We've posted a number of them below...

Adele on Vogue

On performing: “I’m nervous whenever I perform. But seeing that it will be the first time opening my mouth again onstage in front of my peers? I’m shittin’ myself. You can see the fear behind my eyes... The more records I sell and the bigger this all gets, the bigger the shows get. It’s like a vicious cycle.”

On faults as a girlfriend: “I love a bit of drama. That’s a bad thing. I can flip really quickly. I am not bipolar, but I go from ‘Oh, my God, I love you’ to ‘Get the fuck out of my house!’ really quickly. And I never sit there and talk about it. I give them the silent treatment."

On pluses as a girlfriend: "I am attentive. I will do anything for my man. I am a good cook. I’m funny. Always want to have sex.”

On her personality: "People think that I'm f-cking miserable. They are really surprised when they meet me that I'm chatty and bubbly and kind of quite carefree really. I'm the total opposite of my records."

On her celebrity crush: "I love Alec Baldwin. Oh, my God, I've got the biggest crush on him in that film. He's so sexy."

On Beyonce: "She's been a huge and constant part of my life as an artist since I was about 10 or 11. I love how all of her songs are about empowerment. Even when she's married and Jay-Z put a ring on it, she releases 'Single Ladies.' Go get yours. Go get what you deserve. I think she's really inspiring."

Adele definitely got the best of Taylor Swift - and the entire music world - winning six out of a possible six honors at the 2012 Grammy Awards in L.A. Sunday night.

Can she continue her unbeaten streak with a win in this style showdown? That remains to be seen, though the British songstress looked great on the red carpet.

Adele has won praise for the fact that - like Swift - she succeeds on talent and sets a good example for fans by not parading around in no pants. So to speak.

Up until the shocking death of Whitney Houston Saturday night, the biggest narrative going into Sunday night’s Grammy Awards was the return of Adele.

What tune would she sing? How would she sound after surgery? How many of the six awards for which she was nominated would she actually take home?

"Rolling in the Deep," amazing and six, respectively.

The list of 2012 Grammy winners is basically a list of awards won by Adele, with everyone else fighting for what's left. And for good reason. Watch her take the stage at the Staples Center in L.A. and knock “Rolling in the Deep” out of the park:

What's great about Adele is that it's just her voice. She doesn't need to dance around half naked, wear bizarre outfits or rely on shocking choreography.

Her talent alone is more than enough to keep the audience mesmerized throughout her entire performance. It's great to have her back. Don't you agree?

The 2012 Grammy Awards became the Adele Awards Sunday.

The British chanteuse went six for six, collecting every one of the awards for which she was nominated, including top honors for album, record and song of the year.

As she tearfully accepted album of the year for 21, she professed gratitude. "It's been the most life-changing year," the 23-year-old said, wiping her eyes.

Led by hit singles "Someone Like You" (best pop solo performance) and "Rolling in the Deep," the album was inspired by "a rubbish relationship," she joked.

She also offered a searing performance of "Rolling in the Deep", her first live public performance since being silenced by a hemorrhaged vocal cord last year.

Among Adele's other wins: best pop vocal album and best short form music video. Who else won the hardware at the 54th annual event Sunday night?

"I don't want to be some skinny mini with my tits out. I really don't want to do it and I don't want people confusing what it is that I'm about."

So says Adele in an interview with Anderson Cooper on Sunday, one taped prior to this singer landing in the news this week for reasons beyond her incredible ability: first, fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld referred to her as fat. Then, he apologized.

The timing for this 60 Minutes piece, therefore, could not be better, as Adele speaks at length about her body image and her goals as an artist; namely to just write "love songs" and nothing more. She isn't going for shock. She doesn't care about sex appeal. She just wants to sing.

Isn't that refreshing?

Under fire for comments he made about Adele - referring to the beloved songstress as "too fat" earlier in the week - fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld is backtracking faster than a point guard with Blake Griffin coming down the lane.

"I'd like to say to Adele that I am your biggest admirer. Sometimes when you take a sentence out of the article it changes the meaning of the thought," Lagerfeld told Metro yesterday, adding:

"What I said was in relation to Lana Del Rey and the sentence has since been taken out of context from how it was originally published. I actually prefer Adele, she is my favorite singer and I am a great admirer of her. I lost over 30 kilos over 10 years ago and have kept it off. I know how it feels when the press is mean to you in regards to your appearance. Adele is a beautiful girl. She is the best. And I can't wait for her next CD."

Fair enough, Karl. And you certainly are not alone with that sentiment.

Adele has been nominated for six Grammy Awards. Her album, "21," has sat atop the Billboard 200 chart for, oh, about 197 weeks.

Yet these achievements apparently are not enough for fashion mogul Karl Lagerfeld, who went off randomly to Metro US this week, saying of the current crop of female artists:

"The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice. Lana Del Rey is not bad at all. She looks very much like a modern-time singer. In her photos she is beautiful. Is she a construct with all her implants? She’s not alone with implants.”

Adele with a Trophy

Of course, considering the aforementioned accomplishments, this quote begs the question: Too fat for... what? Not for success and popularity, clearly.

Too fat, perhaps, for the 78-year old Lagerfeld to sleep with? Adele will try to live with that realization. We know it may be difficult for her.

Lagerfeld also commented on M.I.A.'s lewd Super Bowl gesture, profoundly saying of the rapper's raised middle finger:

"Nowadays people give the middle finger quite quickly – it's not the best behavior. Everybody does that, what's new about that? It's just become a bad habit. People in magazines are 50% bimbo and 50% pregnant women."
