Anne Hathaway is engaged to Adam Shulman, her rep confirms!

On Sunday, the actress was photographed sporting a ring in a Brooklyn, N.Y., park along with Shulman, who she began dating in 2008, shortly after her previous long-term relationship with Raffaello Follieri ended with his federal indictment.

Fortunately, that experience didn't deter her from dating again - and finding the love of her life. Sometimes, things have a way of working out ...

"I am very much in love with him, [only] Adam totally ruined my plan," Hathaway said of her three-year courtship with Shulman. "I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!"

A gorgeous, talented fool ... and apparently a lucky one at that.

She recently gushed about Shulman at the premiere of One Day.

"I'm a romantic at heart," she said. "And he's the very best!"

Congratulations to the engaged couple!

Just five months after splitting from her imprisoned ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, Anne Hathaway's friends worried she's headed for more heartbreak.

Their reason for concern: rebounding. The 26-year-old Rachel Getting Married star revealed last month she's found love again with actor Adam Shulman.

Anne Hathaway has said of her relatively unknown new flame:

"You know when you don't know someone very well - you just meet them and you're like, 'Wow, you really have it going on'?"

But according to a source at the New York Post, the 27-year-old Adam Shulman could be the wrong man at the wrong time for the actress, adding:

"Adam is known as an opportunist. When he was attending Brown (University), he went after all the heiresses. It's like Anne is addicted to losers."

Ouch! At least the bar is set pretty low for him after Follieri's sentence for conspiracy and fraud. A spokesperson for Shulman declined comment.

While her former beau spends his day getting his ass kicked in prison (we assume), Anne Hathaway is reportedly smitten over a new guy.

"I happened to meet a sexy guy the other day,” Hathaway said at the premiere of her new movie, Rachel Getting Married. “You know when you don’t know someone very well, you just meet them and you’re like, ‘Wow, you really have it going on’?”

According to celebrity news magazine Life & Style, the couple was recently spotted in New Orleans, where Adam accompanied Anne to a screening of her movie at the Canal Place Cinema, then to dessert with pals at local hot spot Patois.

At the screening, Adam, unassuming in jeans and Converse sneakers, told Life & Style how he and Anne first met: “We met through mutual friends. I came to support Anne. We’ve never been to New Orleans before - it’s our first time.”

No word on whether Shulman has seen Anne Hathaway nude yet, but this is for sure - he's nothing like her ex. And that means more than a lack of felony convictions.

“Adam’s everything Raffaello wasn’t,” an friend of the actress says, referring to Follieri. “He’s sensitive and kind to a fault. I think Anne may have found a kindred spirit.”
