He was introduced by Ryan Seacrest as the person who "truly set the bar for style and spectacle on this stage."

From there, one of the show's all-time favorites toned down his usual performance style, sat on a stool and gave viewers a stripped-down version of "Aftermath," a song with a vital message: You are not alone.

Starting now, fans can actually visit Lambert's official site and purchase the remixed version of this same single, with proceeds benefiting The Trevor Project. It's a worthwhile cause, sponsored by a talented artist.

Adam Lambert is giving American Idol viewers an extra special reason to tune in to tonight's results show: the former runner-up will perform an acoustic version of the single "Aftermath."

Following this rendition, a remixed version of the song will be available on Adam's official site, with a portion of the proceeds going toward The Trevor Project, a crisis intervention and suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ youth.

Listen to the remix here and then decide if it's worth a download:

Says Lambert of the track:

“[“Aftermath”]... was written about finding the courage to be honest with yourself and the people who love you. It’s about facing adversity and taking risks in the name of personal liberation. The song takes on different meanings to different listeners. I hope this song inspires people to be who they truly want to be... And dance!”

It might be difficult to think of two celebrities with less in common than Adam Lambert and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.

One is gay, the other is straight. One sings on stage, the other blows whistles on grenades. One was invited to the Grammy Awards last night because he was nominated in a major category, the other might have been the least talented individual on the red carpet (no offense, Kim Kardashian).

But such contrasts only make for a more intriguing Fashion Face-Off, don't you think? Compare Adam with Sitch below and then vote on the style champion. Who wore his outfit best?

Does American Idol the next Adam Lambert on its hands?

It's difficult not to make such a comparison upon hearing James Durbin sing, but the aspiring contestant arrived for his audition in San Francisco last night with a very different backstory from that of the season eight finalist.

Durbin couldn't hold back his emotion when talking about his son, or even when belting out a version of "Dream On." This is a young man whose father died of an overdose when he was nine, and who has been diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome. It's emotional, impressive, stuff. Watch now.

Durbin is a rumored member of this season's top 40, along with other San Francisco golden ticket recipients Brittany Mazur, Stefano Langone and Julie Zorrilla.

Adam Lambert has made it clear: he only wants one thing for his birthday.

But we're sorry to tell this singer, he's getting something else: a horse of best wishes from THG and its readers.

One of our favorite artists, the former American Idol runner-up turns 29 today. He's recently made news for getting involved in the Teen Mom controversy and he's up for his first Grammy on February 13.

Let's hope he wins, shall we? In the meantime, send in a message for Adam and go through the years with him in the video below:

Adam Lambert turns 29 on January 29 and he doesn't want new clothes, or a new guitar or even a scrunchy for his new, long hair.

Instead, the American Idol runner-up has just one request for the "best birthday gift" he could ask for: water.

Adam is asking everyone to donate to My Charity Water, a organization that directly funds clean water projects in developing nations. He Tweeted this week:

“Ok New goal: 290,000 by the 29th!!! Let’s give people in need clean water!!!”

THG has already donated to the cause. Won't you?

Never one to fear a change in style, Adam Lambert has debuted a new haircut.

The singer paid a visit to the 2011 DPA Golden Globes Gift Suite at Beverly Hills' L'Ermitage Hotel yesterday, posing with a few items and a few fans and showing off nearly shoulder-length locks.

Adam will be on hand at Sunday night's award ceremony and we'll likely post more photos of him from that event. But compare the new 'do with the old below and cast your vote:

Two simple sentences have landed Adam Lambert in a bit of trouble.

Yesterday, the singer - likely motivated by the recent struggles of Amber Portwood - Tweeted that Teen Mom is depressing to watch.

Today, he was took to the social network again in response to the reaction of some of his followers, many of whom apparently took issue with Lambert's stance. He wrote:

Teen Mom Twitter

Lambert was more than just snarky, however. He was also explanatory, adding:

"I'm not saying that all teen moms are white trash. Don't misunderstand. Yet, most of the ones on that show seem to be. I do, however, think they're are being exploited a bit."

They are being well-compensated, of course, as Amber made $280,000 from MTV last year. What do you think of Adam's statements?
