On August 7, VH1 will take viewers Behind the Music with Adam Lambert.

But the singer made even bigger news over the weekend in front of the mic, debuting a single off his upcoming album for fans at the Sainte Agathe Festival in Canada.

Those in the crowd went absolutely bonkers when Lambert told them about "Outlaws of Love," a track his wrote because, according to the artist, "no matter where you go, or how you turn, it feels like you're just running from the law."

Fans can go behind the music with Adam Lambert on August 7.

But they don't need to wait that long in order to get a sneak peek at the upcoming VH1 special.

Believe it or not, VH1 was not always known for embarrassing reality shows.

The network will actually return one of its more popular, innovative programs on June 29, when Behind the Music premieres with an episode dedicated to Missy Elliott.

We're most excited about the August 10 installment, however. On that date, Adam Lambert will be featured, as his official site teases "never-before-seen home video footage, interviews with family, friends... and a sneak peak into the studio while working on his second studio album."

Adam Levine may have angered countless Adam Lambert fans on Tuesday night, but the Maroon 5 frontman isn't sorry.

That's because he says he was simply being honest in his assessment of Nakia, a contestant on The Voice who covered Lambert's "Whataya Want From Me." Praising the aspiring singer, Levine said:

“I’m pretty sure, although I’ve never heard that song before, that you probably sang it better than the person that sang it originally."

It was definitely an odd phrasing - if you're unfamiliar with the original artist, why go out of your way to say Nakia sang it better than this unknown individual? - but Levine said it was the truth, not a passive aggressive jab.

"I had honestly never heard that song before," he Tweeted yesterday. "I thought that @nakia made me like a song that would have otherwise fallen flat. I'm NOT sorry.. No disrespect intended for @adamlambert... I honesty had never heard the song before. I'm not one to take cheap shots like that."

The Voice highlighted its final eight contestants last night.

But instead of focusing on the performances, Twitter was alive this morning with buzz over one of Adam Levine's critiques.

As seen below, in praising Nakia for his cover of “Whataya Want From Me,” the Maroon 5 singer took a few seemingly random jabs at Adam Lambert.

“I’m not familiar with that song, but you just forced me to like it,” Levine said. “I’m pretty sure, although I’ve never heard that song before, that you probably sang it better than the person that sang it originally."

Was Levine simply giving Nakia props? Perhaps. But his repeated references to being unfamiliar with the original song and artist have raised the ire of Lambert lovers.

They are, arguably, the two most popular non-winners in American Idol history - and both came out last night to support the show that made them famous.

Adam Lambert, accompanied by boyfriend Sauli Koskinen, and David Archuleta stopped to pose for photographers on the red carpet of the finale, held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Lambert actually made controversial news during season 10, calling out James Durbin at one point and saying the top four finisher was "trying too hard." But he was simply all smiles at the event, which was attended by a number of past contestants.

Early in his American Idol run, James Durbin resented comparisons to Adam Lambert.

Now, the just-ousted finalist resents comments recently made by the former runner-up. In an interview with month with The Hollywood Reporter, Lambert said of Durbin:

"I think he's got talent and passion 100 percent, but I feel like he's trying way too hard. Also, his niche is so limited with the metal... I didn’t feel like I was seeing an original artist. And I'm not saying he doesn't have that in him, but it hasn’t been showing."

In response, Durbin said to MTV: "I was nothing more than nice to that guy and, you know, he decided to take it to a different level. So, whatever."

The Broadway musical Sister Act premiered last night, as celebrities gathered on the red carpet for a performance based on a movie of the same name.

But one singer stood out from among the other stars lined up for photographers. That's what happens when Adam Lambert rocks a mustache and goatee.

Did Adam Lambert really pull a Christina Aguilera this week?

Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton called in to the Morning Dish radio program yesterday and says he was present at Lady Gaga's 25th birthday party Sunday night, serving as a witness when the former American Idol finalist showed up "beyond drunk" and was asked to leave.

He was "super sloppy embarrassingly drunk," Hilton told the hosts.

Lambert reportedly wasn't even invited to the bash. He attended as a guest of the Scissor Sisters, who have been opening on tour for the artist.

A fellow party goer says Lambert was pounding on the walls and "acted like an animal. He kept jumping up on the tables and chairs and screaming. When they brought the cake out he tried to smear it in Gaga's face and put a doll from the cake in her mouth!"

Gaga eventually asked security to escort Adam away. He acknowledged his behavior on Twitter later in the week, writing on Wednesday:

"My hand still hurts. LoL. Was trying for celebratory gesture 4 gaga's B- piñata style...instead my fist is all bruised and la cita has a hole in the ceiling. #sloppy."

As proved to be the case for Aguilera, let's just hope this isn't the start of more troubling times ahead for Adam.
