Adam Lambert finished second on season eight of American Idol.

But not even Kris Allen can stand in the way of the singer's ascension to the top spot on Amazon.com's bestseller's list.

Fans are pre-ordering Lambert's debut CD - scheduled for a November 24 release - in droves. It's outselling albums from artists such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Susan Boyle.

Huge Smile

Have you pre-ordered Adam Lambert's debut album yet? If not, you're in the minority!

Indeed, Lambert has a number of reasons to smile. His relationship with Drake LaBry is going well, and he seems poised to break numerous records for one's first-ever CD.

The crooner himself would never say it, but it's all a great, giant Eff You to the close-minded bigots that have been protesting his concerts. Stay strong, Adam! We can't wait for your album.

If there's one thing Adam Lambert has proven over the last few months, it's that he's his own man.

He'll come out of the closet on his own time, he'll create his own versions of classic songs and no one will tell him otherwise. It's an admirable quality.

In a recent interview, the singer said the same creative freedom will apply to his debut album. Record label 19 Entertainment has not put any restrictions on the type of CD he wants to make.

"I think there's a little bit of a misconception out in the public that people that come out of American Idol are puppetted and kind of controlled," Adam told E! News. "That hasn't been my experience one bit. They've been completely supportive and collaborative with me and all the powers that be are really trying to facilitate my artistic vision."

High Note Hitter

How many copies of Adam Lambert's debut album will you purchase?

Of the CD - which hits stores in less than two months! - Lambert said he's working with top producers such as Linda Perry and Ryan Tedder. He's also penning his own singles.

"I really feel I've gotten to inject a lot of this music on the album with my own personal vocal stylings and my own lyrical content. A lot of it talks about stuff I really care about and that I find interesting, so that feels really good."

Of course, no interview would be complete without asking Adam for his feelings on new judge Ellen DeGeneres. His reply:

"She's obviously a fan of the show, and she's been in the entertainment industry for a long time... I think she'll provide a lot of great insight and really speak for the people that watch the show that aren't all that well versed in the music industry and in music."

What a pair of cuties!

For the first time since they came out as a couple, Adam Lambert and Drake LaBry were spotted in public this week.

The duo attended a Pink concert in Los Angeles and, as you can tell by the photos below, looked as happy and as care-free as ever.

What Cuties!

It won't be long, of course, until Lambert is selling out stadiums on his own. The American Idol runner-up will release his debut album on November 24. There's little doubt it will be a huge success.

With Adam in a stable relationship, and with his professional life about to take off, allow us to send a message to those brainwashed hate groups that continue to protest his existence: SUCK IT!

... November 24!

Sorry for the tease. We just couldn't help ourselves.

But Adam Lambert's debut album will hit stores exactly one week after that of friend and rival Kris Allen. Responding to the success of his DonorsChoose.org campaign, Lambert Tweeted today:

"Over 86K raised by http://www.donorschoose.org... ! Thank you guys so much! keep it coming! fyi my album drops Nov 24th!"

We speak for fans everywhere, Adam, when we say: FYI, we can't wait!

Good Morning, America!

Meanwhile, Danny Gokey, who finished fourth on season eight of American Idol, has landed a deal with 19 Recordings/RCA Nashville.

Said Sony Music Nashville chairman Joe Galante: "We absolutely love Danny. We haven't had anybody like that (in country) since Ronnie Milsap or T. Graham Brown."

Will you purchase Gokey's first album? Or are you too focused on Lambert's to even concentrate? November 24, people!!!

It's both incomprehensible and incredibly depressing that people like this exist.

But at last night's American Idol concert in Kansas City, awful, close-minded members of the Westboro Baptist Church stood outside and protested the mere existence of Adam Lambert.

They held signs that read "God Hates Fags" and, as heard on the video below, one of them referred to Lambert and other homosexuals as a "bunch of rebels against God... they're teaching rebellion against the standards and commandments of God."

Such ignorant, hateful morons make Jon Voight look sane and reasonable.

Rising above it all, Lambert Tweeted after the show:

Thank you all for the support. Love overcomes hate. Love has no color. Love has no orientation. All is love. :)

This is the second time this summer that a Church has sponsored this sort of protest. Other gay-haters picketed a concert in San Jose in July.

It's interesting to note how Lambert has handled these incidents of pure vitriol, compared to how the Carrie Prejean has handled her scandal-filled spotlight. Who do you think is a better Christian role model?

Sorry, Adam Lambert. No major, breaking news on this talented artist today.

But with talk of his upcoming album, we wanted to give fans a taste of what they'll soon be listening to on iTunes all day, everyday.

Last month in Glendale, Arizona, Lambert joined his fellow American Idol finalists on tour. He serenaded the crowd with an emotional version of "Mad World," one of the songs he chose for his season eight final performance.

Check it out in the video below and, don't worry: no dildos were harmed in the making of this clip.

Just hours after Kris Allen revealed the release date for his debut album, the man he defeated on American Idol is speaking out about his upcoming CD.

Adam Lambert told People that it's been challenging to put songs together this summer, as he's toured the country for weeks with fellow finalists.

"We’re still gathering material and we’re scheduling more recording sessions for when [the tour is] over, so we’re about halfway done," the talented singer said.

Awesome Artist

Unsurprising to anyone that watched him dominate Idol, Lambert says the album will be “quite eclectic.”

“There are songs on there that are anthems; there are song that make you want to dance; there are songs that make you feel sexy; there are songs that touch you, hopefully, with more emotional, insightful, deeper lyrics. There are songs that are more in the line with a rock sound. There are some that are really pop-oriented... It's just going to be fun."

We have no doubt. Will you purchase Adam Lambert's debut album?

The Hollywood Gossip offers readers a unique perspective on various celebrities, including breaking news, countless photos, polls, videos and so much more.

But once you get your fill of entertainment scoop, where should you go to next on the Internet? Adam Lambert has an idea.

The American Idol runner-up has filmed a short, informative video, in which he explains the concept behind DonorsChoose.org. The site gives individuals the chance to donate money or pieces of equipment to public schools around the country.

It's another example of how Lambert is as big-hearted and well-grounded as he is talented. Watch his sales pitch below:

Did you think Adam Lambert was joking when he said fans throw sex toys at him on stage?

He wasn't. The video below is proof.

At an August 14 concert in Ontario, Lambert performed a version of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love." The crowd went absolutely bonkers as the singer rocked out with as much energy and talent as he displayed throughout season eight of American Idol.

Then, a little over two minutes in, sources confirm that someone threw a dildo on stage. But Lambert handled it like a pro. Can this guy do anything wrong?!?

Adam Lambert has made a new fan.

On his official blog, Queen guitarist Brian May can't help but gush about the American Idol runner-up.

He also dropped a major hint about Lambert's future as an artist: he has a song on the soundtrack for 2012, a disaster movie set for a November release. Awesome!

Here's what else May had to say:

I was privileged to hear a track that the guys have finished for Adam Lambert ... a song for a forthcoming film, 2012. I have to say I was completely blown away ... it's truly sensational. In fact it's so obviously a number one smash, any bookie would be mad to take bets on it. I am not kidding.

I'm not easily moved to jelly by male vocalists ... but Adam's voice reaches out with sensitivity, depth, maturity, and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world. Its an awesome performance. No doubt about it. The world of Rock has a bright new star.

Huge Smile

Rumors had actually swirled for a bit that Adam would be featured on the New Moon soundtrack. No luck on that, but this is a solid back-up plan.

Lambert hasn't announced the release date for his debut album yet, but we'll be sure to alert fans when he does.
