It's the hot American Idol talk making all the rounds and creating all the buzz: Adam Lambert is under serious consideration to be a Season 12 judge.

There's just one problem: this is news to Adam Lambert.

Speaking to U.K. radio station Capital FM yesterday, the former runner-up sounded excited but cautious about the possibility, referring to it as a "beautiful rumor."

"I'm just hearing about this today," Adam said. "Listen, if – and I say 'if' with a capital I-F – if they were to approach me and if they were to say, 'We want you to be a judge on the show,' I would love that. I would jump at the chance.

"I owe my career to American Idol. I mean, if it weren't for American Idol, I doubt that... I would be sitting here with you... I think it would be really exciting to be sitting at a judging panel and trying to help people reach their dreams."

Aside from Lambert, chatter persists that Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and others are up for American Idol judging spots. Would you wanna see Adam on the panel?

Jennifer Lopez might be out - and a former fan favorite could be in.

With rumors once again swirling around the exit of J. Lo, and with the contracts of all three American Idol judges up, E! News quotes an insider who says Adam Lambert is under consideration as a Season 12 judge.

"They have been talking about Adam for over a month," this Idol insider claims. "He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of the judges' comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can't go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him."

American Idol is coming off a disappointing season, ratings-wise, and the source adds that Randy Jackson and Steve Tyler aren't necessarily guaranteed to return, either. The Aerosmith singer's plans are "up in the air," while:

"Randy is great, but he's part of the old Idol. They want to keep the soul of the show but have a new look, and for that reason he may well not be part of the new line up."

A formidable but unlikely duo, Britney Spears and Adam Lambert have just been named Billboard magazine's sexiest woman and man in music.

Agree? Disagree?

The X Factor judge and pop icon and the American Idol runner-up beat hundreds of musicians to the title in a just-released reader poll.

  • Awesome Adam Lambert
  • Britney Spears, Hot Dress

Britney was crowned the Sexiest Woman in Music with 45 percent of the vote, absolutely trouncing second-place Lady Gaga's 12 percent.

Beyonce claimed the third sport, with Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift also featured in the top ten, according to Billboard voters.

Adam Lambert, meanwhile, won the magazine's Sexiest Man in Music title, with Maroon 5 singer / The Voice coach Adam Levine in second.

Teenybopper heart throb Justin Bieber came third, just ahead of Enrique Iglesias, Chris Brown, Usher and Drake. Quite the exclusive list.

What do you think? Who are the sexiest man and woman in music?

Adam Lambert has followed up an historic achievement with a brand new music video.

The former American Idol runner-up finished atop the Billboard 200 chart last week, becoming the first openly gay musician to ever accomplish that feat. So, what does a talented singer do for an encore?

He unveils the official video for "Never Close Our Eyes," giving fans a futuristic look at a depressing world with not nearly enough color or dancing. But have no fear, Lambert is here!

Watch him lead a revolution:

"The one thing that I was really excited about was maybe something sort of science fiction," says Adam of the shoot. "Something kind of New World Order, in the future. Something not of this reality. When we put that out there, a gentleman called Dori Oskowitz came back with an amazing treatment. This director is a really cool guy, totally on the same page as me."

Adam Lambert has made history.

The former American Idol runner-up shot past another famous series alumnus this week and claimed the number-one spot on the Billboard 200 for his latest album, "Trespassing." In doing so, Lambert became the first openly gay man to sit atop the chart.

Yes, Clay Aiken achieved the same status with his 2003 CD, but he did not come out of the closet until five years later.

Of course, the important thing is not Lambert's sexuality; it's his success. The eccentric crooner sold 77,000 units of "Trespassing" in the seven days since its release. Well done, Adam!

Here's a look at the Billboard top five:

  1. Adam Lambert, Trespassing: 77,000
  2. Adele, 21: 63,000
  3. Carrie Underwood, Blown Away: 54,000
  4. Norah Jones, Little Broken Hearts: 45,000
  5. Tenacious D, Rise of the Fenix, 44,000

Adam Lambert, you tease.

As a reward for his followers on Twitter helping to push his new record, "Trespassing," up the iTunes chart, Lambert has given us a glimpse at his next music video. It's for the track "Never Close Our Eyes."

Ok Glamily! I know ya'll been helping to chart #Trespassing! Thank you sooo much! You wanna see a sneak peak at the video??? Lambert Tweeted yesterday, proceeding to present the following:

The former American Idol runner-up has said this CD is more personal than his debut effort.

"There are songs on [the CD] that deal with that anxiety," Adam said in March. "Until I met my current boyfriend (Sauli Koskinen), I was always falling for the wrong guys, which caused my self worth to suffer. This is just some of what the album explores.”

Adam Lambert covers the latest issue of Instinct, a magazine that focuses on the LGBT community - and opens up to the publication on a topic that may cause some controversy for the former American Idol star.

"As a community, we’re a little bit resistant to a gay male pop star ourselves," Lambert says. "It’s very easy for people to look at my origin, which is American Idol, and automatically assume that I’m a commercial sellout or a puppet or a flash in the pan.

"I don’t think I’m any of those things. There’s something weird there. We’re very eager to celebrate a strong female. But to celebrate a fellow gay man – it gets catty sometimes.”

The artist will soon be coming out with a new album, one he has described as especially personal, and he elaborated here regarding what fans can expect:

“This is the kind of music I listen to. I know the style of vocal I have is kind of big. It has a certain edge to it. I’ve always loved rock, but I also love stuff that is more groove-based, more funky, more soulful, more dance music.”

Adam Lambert is simply a "crazy hedonistic rebel who wants to liberate the masses."

That's what this former American Idol star says in the latest issue of Fault, explaining to the magazine how his public persona does not always jibe with his private one.

"I’m not always as strong and confident as I may seem," Adam says. "I work hard to project pride and poise when faced with judgement and heartache. That is how I cope. I feel a bit of pressure to set a certain example that suggests that I deserve my place in this industry. I'm hard on myself and critical."

And how does his upcoming album, "Tresspassing," play into this dichotomy?

"There are songs on [the CD] that deal with that anxiety," he says. "Until I met my current boyfriend (Sauli Koskinen), I was always falling for the wrong guys, which caused my self worth to suffer. This is just some of what the album explores.”

The album was originally scheduled for a March release, but has now been pushed back so Adam can "work on some new songs," as he Tweeted a couple weeks ago.

Reports of Adam Lambert taking over as the lead singer of Queen, for a prolonged summer tour, may have been premature.

But the former American Idol runner-up has now confirmed that he'll stand in as the frontman for this iconic rock band for one unique evening in England.

"I have been invited by Queen to sing one very special concert! Sonisphere at Knebworth July 7th!” the 30-year-old artist Tweeted last night, adding: “Sorry to be coy about the details the past few weeks, but I made a promise to keep it under wraps as best I could. Gonna be a surreal night!”

It's a doubly great day to be an Adam Lambert fan today.

First, the singer announced that he would front an upcoming tour with the remaining band members of Queen, hitting up various arenas and stadiums in honor of late singer Freddie Mercury.

Now, Lambert has released the official music video for his latest single - off his soon-to-be-released album - "Better Than I Know Myself." In it, we see two sides of the singer, as a pair of personalities square off; one is all dark and leather-y, the other calm, serene, sipping on tea even.

Which will win out? Watch and see what happens:
