Adam Carolla, a comedian best known for The Man Show and whose career has sunk to a point where he appeared this year on Celebrity Apprentice, is in serious hot water for comments made to The New York Post.

Simply put, Carolla told the newspaper that women are not funny.

"They make you hire a certain number of chicks, and they’re always the least funny on the writing staff," Carolla said of Hollywood. 'The reason why you know more funny dudes than funny chicks is that dudes are funnier than chicks. If my daughter has a mediocre sense of humor, I’m just gonna tell her, 'Be a staff writer for a sitcom. Because they’ll have to hire you, they can’t really fire you, and you don’t have to produce that much. It’ll be awesome.'"

Was Carolla worried about backlash when he made this statement? No, he added.

"When you’re picking a basketball team, you’ll take the brother over the guy with the yarmulke. Why? Because you’re playing the odds. When it comes to comedy, of course there’s Sarah Silverman, Tina Fey, Kathy Griffin - super-funny chicks. But if you’re playing the odds? No.

"If Joy Behar or Sherri Shepherd was a dude, they’d be off TV. They’re not funny enough for dudes. What if Roseanne Barr was a dude? Think we’d know who she was? Honestly."

In a podcast recorded in October, but first making its way around the Internet now, Adam Carolla lays into the Occupy Wall Street movement.

"We are now dealing with the first wave of participation trophy, my-own-fecal-matter-doesn't-stink, empowered... everybody's a winner, there are no losers - we are dealing with the first wave of those f*-cking a--holes," Carolla says of those who have rallied against income inequality in America over the last couple months. "They haven't been prepared for life."

Alleged comedian Adam Carolla, who is apparently still around, is under fire over a slew of anti-gay comments made on his Adam Carolla Show podcast.

Among other things, in an attempt to be funny, he also told LGBT people to "shut up" because they are "ruining his life" by speaking out about equality.

He went on to say that members of the LGBT community should stop using the letters "LGBT" to describe themselves, and should instead use "YUCK."

Regarding transgendered people, Carolla asked: ‘When did we start giving a sh!t about these people?’” He then singled out Chaz Bono in particular.

Carolla offered the obligatory half-assed apology to EW via his rep, saying “I’m sorry that my comments were hurtful. I’m a comedian, not a politician.”

Suffice it to say, that didn't cut it with the gay community.

Adam Carolla admits he's "somewhat relieved" to have been voted off Dancing with the Stars last night, which should come as little surprise to those that figured he was doing the program solely to promote his movie The Hammer.

However, the comedian added that he feels bad about letting insanely gorgeous partner Julianne Hough down, he told Us Weekly after the results were announced.

Does he think the unicycle, which was incorporated into his paso doble dance routine Monday night, spelled the end?

"I don't know," Carolla said. "I know that judges are not fans of what they call ‘props,' but I think that most props are thought of as crutches, and I thought that the unicycle was hardly a fake set a bull horns."

As for Hough, she's as diplomatic as she is beautiful:

"He has improved so much," she said of her partner. "And if he would have stayed on, he would have been so good!"

The complete cast of new Dancing with the Stars celebrities will be announced tonight.

But The Hollywood Gossip staff has learned that comedian Adam Carolla will be one of the stars competing on the reality show's sixth season.

Carolla currently is the host of a radio show and got his start on MTV's Loveline alongside Dr. Drew Pinsky. He'll be teaming up with beautiful professional Julianne Hough (who partnered with Helio Castroneves to win last season's crown).

We'll post the full cast list tomorrow. For now, answer this question: Which celebrity would you most wanna see on Dancing with the Stars? 

We'd go with Kim Kardashian, if only to see those breasts jiggle like the fat deposits on Homer Simpson.
