Many celebrities resort to plastic surgery to enhance their looks.

Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port, alumni of The Hills, are not among them, as both are committed to staying beautiful naturally. This interview with them is from late last year, but is still topical in light of the recent Heidi Montag plastic surgery debacle.

“I think it’s a personal thing,” Whitney, now star of The City, tells me. “They feel like it’s necessary and it’s going to make them feel more confident.”

If that’s what they believe, “then more power to them,” she adds.

Lauren Conrad says the need for plastic surgery stems from fame.

Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad are all-natural (and all-cute)!

“It’s hard because you’re in that position where you’re being criticized for everything,” LC, whose novel L.A. Candy is getting the silver screen treatment.

“Do you ignore it, and try to be beautiful on your own and be happy with the way you look? or do you listen to the criticism. They put them on this platform, and they tear them apart and then they criticize them even more for changing themselves.”

“I think you just try and be confident with the way you are.”

Although Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad don’t admit to enhancing their looks through surgery, that doesn’t mean they don’t make the best of their natural features.

Whitney says that among her go-to beauty products are Fresh Black Tea eye cream, and she also wears Trish McEvoy #3 perfume, Snowdrop and Crystal Flowers.

LC, who says her eyes look “round and boyish,” swears by Mark’s Get In Line liquid eyeliner. For scents, “I wear 15 different perfumes. Anything with a gardenia.”

Whitney Port laughs, “Oh, so does my mom.”
