Report: Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag Staging $200K Breakup

With all the speculation circulating after The Hills Season 5 trailer seems to hit at Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt splitting up, the gruesome twosome decided to call Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Friday to set the record straight.

Well, by setting the record straight, what we really mean is giving vague, vomit inducing, self-promoting answers. We're talking about Speidi here.

"Rumors, rumors," said the smarmy celeb gossip Svengali known as Spencer Pratt. "Breaking up? I could never do without the love of my life."

As for reports that they're planning a public "break up" via a four-part magazine story netting them $200,000 - a la their staged their Cabo "wedding"?

"Wow, can you get that deal for us?" asked Heidi. "That would be great."

"So you are breaking up," responded Ryan Seacrest.

"No," insisted Heidi Montag, before dropping a little Hills spolier-plug: "I mean, you'll have to tune in Monday to see we are having some difficulties."

Weak.

Heidi and Spencer Pic

It's Speidi's world. We just live in and write about it.

The plastic pair's so-called "difficulties" this season apparently stem from him hitting on a bartender and, according to Heidi Montag (as if she isn't 100 percent aware of it), "God only knows what else he's been doing."

"So did you hook up with the bartender?" asked Ryan.

"You'll have to tune in on Monday night," replied Spencer Pratt, to which Ryan Seacrest could old offer up a short, simple reply that sums up our feelings toward this article, as well as toward Speidi as a whole these days:

"That answer bores me."

Amen. At least her April Fool's Day pregnancy Twitter announcement was kind of interesting and creative. Click to enlarge more recent Speidi pics below ...

The Hills: Season Five Cast Photos, Preview

Below is an exclusive look at the Season 5 cast photos for The Hills, which will feature lovely leading lady Lauren Conrad saying goodbye to her hit show following its latest batch of episodes (premiering Monday, April 6 on MTV).

"I actually thought last season was going to be my last," the star told Entertainment Weekly. "[But] the producers wanted to hopefully give the show some sort of closure, needing one more season to do that." Thankfully, she obliged!

Look for Lauren Conrad to take a back seat in her final 10 episodes, though, since, as she puts it, "I didn't have all that much conflict in my life over the last few months."

The 23-year-old adds, "I think I only cry in one episode."

Here's a photo of the full Season Five cast of The Hills ...

The Hills cast also includes Lo Bosworth, Brody Jenner and Stephanie Pratt!

The end of her time on The Hills doesn't mean budding businesswoman LC is done with television altogether. Lauren Conrad says that she's currently in discussions to turn her upcoming young-adult book series into a TV drama.

"We've been taking a lot of meetings lately," says Conrad, whose first novel, L.A. Candy, hits shelves in June. "I don't know exactly where I want to go, but I've looked into producing because I've always found that so interesting."

We can't wait. Click to enlarge photos of Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (we had to include him) promoting the upcoming season ...

Lauren Conrad Promotes New Season of The Hills

Preparing for her swan song, Lauren Conrad found herself in the hot seat at MTV Canada's The After Show on Monday to talk up the upcoming Season Five of The Hills, which will be the reality star's last, at Toronto's Masonic Temple.

The Gorgeous Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad smiles and takes questions from Hills fans.

Reminiscing on the show, LC talked a little bit about the old days when she and Heidi Montag were best friends, teased the new season a bit, and laughed aloud during a video montage of some of Spencer Pratt's greatest moments.

The new season of the reality show premieres on April 6. We can't wait.

Audrina Patridge to Exit The Hills, Pitch Her Own Show

While the producers of The Hills keep leaving the door open for a new season even with Lauren Conrad retiring at the end of the upcoming bonus episodes (which commence April 6), here's another indicator that the show itself may end:

Audrina Patridge is saying goodbye.

And looking to star in her own show.

The aspiring actress and her fake boobs have signed on to star in a new series from producer Mark Burnett that will focus on her personal and professional life.

"We are truly pleased to have the chance to work with Audrina," Burnett, the creator or Survivor and The Apprentice, tells The Hollywood Reporter.

"She has already proved her star quality, and we can't wait to show her fans worldwide the next stage of her life and career."

Audrina Patridge Moves On

Patridge and Burnett will pitch their still-untitled show to networks next week.

Audzo tried to break away from The Hills before, but that's proven about as effective as her efforts to ditch loser boyfriend Justin-Bobby. Her first film effort, Into The Blue 2, went straight to DVD (it's due out April 21).

Lauren Conrad recently confirmed she will leave the MTV reality show after five seasons (and two seasons of Laguna Beach prior to that), saying: "I'm excited to go back to having just one life, because there were times I got them confused."

Speidi Discusses The Hills on The View

The Hills' Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag visited the ladies of The View in an attempt to set a record for most annoying quasi-celebrities in one place to talk about their infamous sham wedding last fall as well as the MTV show's new season.

Despite a ridiculous claim that everything you see on The Hills is real, Spencer Pratt was candid about how Heidi's mom, Darlene, doesn't like him, as well as his plans to marry Heidi Montag for real at some point in the near future. Touching.

No major Hills spoilers, but still a fun interview for fans of the show. We'd prefer Lauren Conrad any day of the week, but we'll take what we can get ...

The Hills Spoilers: Creator Dishes on Lauren's Departure, "Misleading" Trailer, Lo's Love Life & More

We know the fifth season of The Hills, which premieres March 30, will be the last for its leading lady, Lauren Conrad. But will the show go on without her?

Asked about another season, executive producer Adam DiVello told E!, "I can’t even say if there is a next season. I have no information on The Hills beyond Lauren Conrad. We're focusing on this season, which will likely be our highest-rated yet."

Especially after MTV's gripping Season 5 trailer (below), showing that Lauren and Heidi Montag will cry and makeup and become BFFs again, right? Well ...

"What you see in the trailer is deceiving," DiVello said. "You'll see that in one of the first few episodes of the season, that when [Lauren and Heidi] wake up the next morning from that [reconciliation], things may not be as they had hoped."

"But it’s a rollercoaster ride for these two. They are at a point where they are ready to forgive each other, but there’s still this looming presence of Spencer Pratt in Heidi Montag’s life, and that’s the thing Lauren is dealing with the most."

This season's focus is on Lauren Conrad tying up loose ends and figuring out how to move on with her life after so many seasons in the spotlight.

"It's pretty surprising," DiVello said. "A lot of the characters on the show have started to come to the realization that we are getting to a point now in life where we can put the past behind us and move on, go our own way."

Meanwhile, Lauren Bosworth (Lo) takes a front seat this season with storylines around her new job (yes, she's working now) and her love life (finally)!

"Lo steps up this season more so than last," DiVello dished. "She's a single girl, so you'll see her dating a lot more, and still palling around with Lauren."

What do you think about this potentially being the last season of the hit series? Would you watch The Hills without Lauren Conrad?

Sure, I love the other Hills peeps too!
Maybe, depends on the current season.
No way, LC is the reason for the show!

Spencer Pratt Saddened By LC Retirement; Seeks New Enemy

Lauren Conrad narrowly missed a chance to say farewell to her Hills nemesis, Spencer Pratt, at Star Magazine's Young Hollywood party on Wednesday night.

Spencer was there with plastic faux wife Heidi Montag, who said that her new album is coming out soon and actual professionals shot the videos this time.

POINTLESS ASIDE: See below for a special presentation of her first video, directed by Spencer. It's a 10 out of 10 on the unintentional comedy scale.

As soon as Speidi finished interviews on the carpet, they left - but not before Spencer sounded off on LC's upcoming retirement from The Hills.

The reality-TV troublemaker says he's really going to miss his nemesis.

"I'm actually very depressed," he told E! Online about her departure. "Who am I gonna beef out with? I gotta find some new enemy on the show."

Hey, at least he's honest.

Pimp and HoLauren and Lauren Pic

Inseparable Hills duos: Speidi, left, and the Laurens.

So how did Lauren Conrad and BFF Lo Bosworth avoid an awkward run-in with dumb and dumber at the event? They skipped the red carpet altogether and hung out inside at their own VIP table with (ooh) Spener's sister Stephanie Pratt.

Laguna Beach alum and former LC rival Kristin Cavallari was also on hand for the bash, showing up with Scott Disick, the ex-boyfriend of Kourtney Kardashian.

Awesome. But not so much as this video classic ...

The Hills Cast, Crew Accused of Trashing Mansion

The cast, crew and producers of MTV's The Hills are involved in some serious drama - perhaps more so than anything we've seen on the "reality" show itself.

The peeps behind The Hills are in a legal war over the live season finale, as the guy who owns the Beverly Hills mansion where MTV filmed the "Live from the Hills Season Finale" claims the place turned into a demilitarized zone.

When he rented the place out for the show in 2008, he was promised it would be returned in "the same condition." What he got back, he says, was a disaster area.

According to a lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Igor Greenberg claims MTV "caused extensive damage to the property in at least the amount of $158,250.07."

He wants the network to fork over the cash, pronto.

The Hills Girls are Back!

What? The girls from The Hills? Creating drama? What's next ...

We recognize this article is sort of meaningless, but think about it, that's a serious amount of damage! What happened? Did someone turn a drunk Jason Wahler loose against Spencer Pratt while Heidi Montag and LC had a cat fight for the ages?

All we can hope is that this drama was captured and will air on the fifth season premiere March 30. Then the circle of reality TV trashiness would be complete.

Lauren Conrad Opens Up on the End of The Hills

The queen of reality TV, Lauren Conrad, is opening up about her decision to leave The Hills (the fifth and likely final season debuts March 30 on MTV).

Combined with two years of Laguna Beach before that, she's had a heck of a run. But having turned 23 last month, LC is anxious to move on.

"You see us on the show and we appear to have seminormal lives, but if you read any celebrity news, the cast is being swarmed by paparazzi," she says. "I'm excited to go back to having just one life. There were times that I got them confused."

But the decision to leave is still bittersweet.

"I've spent the last five years making every decision be about the show. The people I date have to be able to film, the places I work have to let us film and the places I live have to have set lighting," said the beautiful star.

"I loved doing it and had so much fun for the past couple of years, but it came to a point where I had done it long enough."

Lauren Conrad, Kyle Howard

Lauren Conrad has kept her growing relationship with My Boys' Kyle Howard (above) off The Hills, which was a tall order. She says the balancing act is "very difficult, because when you're with someone, they become a very big part of your life."

She also admits it's stressful being followed 24-7-365.

"There have been some scenes - extra scenes that may never come out - of me getting upset, taking my mic off and locking myself in my room," she says. "There was a time I was really stressed, and would get sick a lot. I think all of Season Three!"

Producer Liz Gateley said they're still figuring out how to give Lauren Conrad a big send-off - and how to potentially continue the show without her.

Without her? Is that nuts? Would you watch The Hills without Lauren?

Sure, I love the other Hills peeps too!
Maybe, depends on the current season.

Confirmed: The Hills Final Season to Premiere March 30

It's official: Lauren Conrad is leaving The Hills.

After months of speculation that the reality TV starlet will be retiring at the end of the current season (including quotes from Lauren herself that she is ready to move on), The Hills executive producer Liz Gateley has confirmed it.

Lauren Conrad's final appearance will be in the upcoming season five (which debuts March 30 on MTV), and she is not expected back on the series after that.

"It is bittersweet," Gateley says. "But I understand why [Lauren Conrad] is ready to say goodbye. I will be forever grateful for all that she shared with us in her life, and am incredibly proud of the television we made together."

Lauren Conrad Smiles in Blue

Sources connected to the show say that Lauren Conrad has already filmed her final scene for The Hills, and it was a very emotional goodbye. [Photo: Splash News]

"She filmed Wednesday at Comme Ça with [Brody Jenner] in the afternoon," says a Hills insider, "then with Brody at Beso. It filmed out of order so it wasn't like a goodbye scene. But then the entire restaurant stood up and gave her a round of applause and she got tears and [executive producer] Adam DeVillo gave her flowers."

Another insider says there were "definitely tears. All around the room. I don't think anyone expected it to be so emotional, but five years is a long time."

The source says Lauren Conrad was set to shoot a scene at Joan's on Third restaurant in W Hollywood yesterday; however, the shoot was rained out.
