Yesterday's release of The Hills trailer for the upcoming new season seemed to indicate that the show was coming full circle and winding toward its conclusion.

Lauren Conrad has now confirmed as much.

The MTV star, who fans of Laguna Beach and The Hills have watched evolve for years now, will finally be retiring from reality TV when the new season ends.

“My biggest thing with the show was that I wanted to walk away from it while it’s still a great thing,” she told Seventeen, which features her on its new cover.

“I always want to remember it that way. I gave MTV a deadline and basically said, ‘This is as long as I can do it and stay sane.’”

Despite becoming wealthy and famous as a result of her two hit shows, Lauren Conrad has indicated her desire for more privacy was becoming an issue.

Another factor that might have played into her decision? Unlike her past romances with Stephen Colletti, Brody Jenner and Jason Wahler, LC has kept her current relationship with actor Kyle Howard away from the MTV cameras.

The two have been exclusive for some time, although the 23-year-old, who is also a successful fashion designer, won’t even officially call him her boyfriend.

“[Kyle] is a friend,” Lauren Conrad tells the magazine. “I’m a big fan of labels, but the girlfriend one doesn’t always look good on me. Ha!”

The Hills may be wrapping up in 2009, but its star will shine on in the celebrity gossip universe for years to come. We'll make sure of it.

Fresh off getting robbed - and we mean her apartment, not her self-respect and dignity at the hands of Justin-Bobby - Audrina Patridge was spotted parking her car and preparing to film scenes for the "reality" hit The Hills in Los Angeles ...

Before we get to the trailer for Season Five of The Hills, premiere date TBD - prepare now for the dramatic music and quotes - a couple of spoilers:

• Lauren's real-life beau, actor Kyle Howard (My Boys), will not be featured, in the series. Why? Producers say Howard because he's not essential to the season's narrative. That or he's contractually obligated to stay off other shows.

• Stephanie Pratt will step in as LC's new Whitney at People's Revolution. Yes, Spencer's sister has gotten a job at Kelly Cutrone's company. 

• Lo Bosworth will be a working girl, too, after getting a job with Davis Factor (grandson of Max Factor) at cosmetics house Smashbox Studios. 

• We can't speak for the fifth season as a whole, but there is totally no sign of Justin-Bobby in this trailer (and very little of Audrina)!

• OMG: Who invited Heidi to Lauren Conrad's birthday? Will this mean an end to their feud, which has been escalating for a couple of years now? Such a reconcilation seems to be the primary theme of the trailer.

• Bromance, rekindled? Let's let out that sigh of relief all together. Brody Jenner and Spencer Pratt are back "together." Or at least speaking.

• Lauren's $11,000/month house is now for rent, so expect another moving episode. She and Lo are still roomies, though, just condo style!

• As for Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, there's a brunette bartender in the picture. Will we see an actual fake divorce this season? We can only hope. But Spencer will definitely get into a fist fight with some guy.

The Hills stars Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth, Audrina Patridge and Stephanie Pratt took a little vacation at Turtle Bay resort in Oahu, Hawaii last weekend - and the action was captured by the MTV cameras as well as celebrity news photographers.

The whole gang came - including Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado and, it appears, even the great Doug Reinhardt - and later kicked it at the famed Sunset Beach ...

The Hills stars (all present except for Heidi and Spencer, who apparently have bigger and better things to make money on), spent the afternoon filming the show, with the girls sipping cocktails and the boys going out for an attempt at surfing.

Want to head for The Hills?

The glamorous, semi-scripted life can be yours for only $11,000 a month.

That's the going price for Lauren Conrad's two-story, 3,000 square foot home in West Hollywood, which is now available for rent after the reality star moved out.

It boasts 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a swimming pool, two fireplaces and a guest house that once saw Justin-Bobby and Audrina Patridge naked a lot.

Here's a lesson in relationships, at least according to the New York Daily News: Dating either Paris Hilton or Benji Madden will make you head for The Hills.

Literally.

Recent exes Paris Hilton and Benji Madden are both moving on with new partners, both of whom appear on the MTV quasi-reality show. Ready for this?

Sources say Benji Madden has upped his friendship with Audrina Patridge to "relationship" status in the last two weeks, though Audzo's rep denies that.

Benji and Audrina have been friends for some time - she was dating his BFF Tal Cooperman for awhile - so there may not be anything to report there.

Paris, meanwhile, is supposedly getting her freak on with Lauren Conrad's and Amanda Bynes' sloppy thirds. Yes, we mean the great Doug Reinhardt.

Man, that guy gets around like... Brody Jenner.

What do you think? Are either of these two characters from The Hills actually dating the Hollywood mainstays - and former couple - they've been linked to recently?

This piece of celebrity gossip comes to us from Star magazine, which means it's almost definitely false. At the same time, it wouldn't surprise us at all.

After staging a fake wedding - one conducted sans marriage license, natch - in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on November 19, attention whores Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have cooked up a new scheme to extend their 15,000 minutes of fame.

The stars of The Hills will pretend to go through ... wait ... wait for it ... a messy divorce, according to the alleged celebrity news magazine!

"Spencer is masterminding the whole thing right now," says a source.

"He'll make sure people see him going in and out of a lawyer's office. Then he'll stage fake fights with [Heidi Montag] for The Hills cameras and talk on the show about how getting married too young wa a mistake and pretend he's conflicted."

So, to sum up here, the next step in the longest-running publicity stunt in history is for the plastic couple to pursue a divorce - though their "nuptials" weren't legal in the first place - then presumably patch things up last-second.

"Spencer will push this as far as he can, but it will be 100 percent fake. He loves Heidi and will never let her go," says the source. "They're just always looking for a way to out-drama Lauren Conrad. It's their No. 1 goal in life!"

The Hills will go on for at least one more season.

Just not with Lauren Conrad physically living there.

The adorable reality star and her BFF / roommate, Lo Bosworth, are heading out of LC's house in the Hollywood Hills in favor of a high-rise apartment complex in the Westwood area of Los Angeles, according to E! Online. The reason? Safety.

"[Lauren] loves her house but she wanted more security, and being in a building with a doorman will allow her that," says a source close to The Hills star.

Just yesterday, some friends came over for a little barbecue at Lauren's house - with the festivities taped by MTV, of course. See video below:

As you can see, the likes of Stephanie Pratt, Brody Jenner and his girlfriend Jayde Nicole made appearances at Lauren's place, though they didn't say why.

Going-away party, perhaps? If so, we doubt the neighbors were invited.

Ever since The Hills girls moved in and camera crews began filming in the otherwise quiet neighborhood, peeps have been livid with Lauren Conrad & Co. In fact, they probably threw a separate party to celebrate the girls packing their bags.

The Hills' upcoming fifth season may be it for the Cali cuties. And Heidi Montag.

Rumors abound (and it wouldn't be too surprising) that the "reality" show that has become one of TV's guilty pleasure will end its run after next season.

The Hills, which follows Lauren Conrad and pals around Hollywood, is MTV’s only biggest hit, spawning spinoffs Bromance and The City this winter, even.

But popularity is slowly declining, and a senior MTV source told The Sun, “I think everyone, including Lauren Conrad, wants to get on with their lives.”

Conrad, 22, who has made millions out of having her every move followed as she tries to make it in fashion, admitted last year that interest is waning:

“Every season, I think it’s the last. I go through phases when I’ve been filming where I wake up in the middle of the night and I think I’m being filmed."

“That’s when I have to take a vacation.”

Perhaps a permanent one is in order soon. Sad as it would be for LC's fans, such a move would grant her more time to spend with boyfriend Kyle Howard, who can't appear on the show, and focus on her other career opportunities.

Lauren Bosworth, a.k.a. Lo, has another job besides the sidekick of Lauren Conrad and the leading passive-aggressive voice on The Hills. The UCLA graduate is now writing about LA night spots for Pocket Change, a lifestyle website.

Lo hit new Hollywood club MyHouse Friday night, where E! caught up with her for the deets on The Hills, LC's latest boyfriend Kyle Howard and more.

Just don't expect to see any of Lo's personal life on the show ...

"Ever since Laguna Beach, I made it a point that I don't wanna date on the show and they keep bugging me," Lo Bosworth said. "They're like, 'We want you to go on a date with this guy!' I don't know; I guess we'll have to see."

Fair enough. Also hanging at MyHouse Friday with Lo were the aforementioned Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard. The two enjoyed a corner table, just next to Kourtney Kardashian, who was dancing with Laguna grad Kristin Cavallari.

Oh, and none other than Kim Kardashian was also there, hanging with boyfriend Reggie Bush before jetting to Sundance with her sisters the next morning.
